Worst meal and service ever today at Avert - Will not return, raw fish served with skin on a salad????, undelivered food, rancid oil, food delivered at wrong time, Togo missing 2 dishes completely!!? I will not keep going. Doro you have failed. Avert should close.

Place has VERY nice decor on the inside however seems very understaffed, I received my appetizer which was very salty by the way, my date never received her appetizer or meal & we noticed a table next to us did yet they sat down after us, the table on the other side of us were also waiting quite a long time we could hear the waiter apologizing to them multiple times. After about 40 minutes of waiting we decided to just leave, still tipping the waitress because she was very kind & went to another establishment that was twice as busy yet seated and served us in all of 10 minutes, sadly we will not be back here the 1st impression is the last.

Love this place! My go to spot for oysters, wine and all the ambiance, solo or with friends this is a must stop if you're in Wet Hartford! Shout out to Tina behind the bar, tolerating my working lunches here and for generally being awesome!!

Incredibly delicious food ... my compliments to the Sous Chef (the carrots and the mussels were amazing) and the Pastry Chef (the Roasted Peanut Chocolate Rocher Gateau dessert was to die for)!

Above my expectations at affordable prices. Feels like I spent the afternoon in Paris. Tried the escargot, steak tartar, French onion soup, burger and steak all out of this world!

Spending an intimate Friday night, this french meal is comparable to a Michelin star dining experience. We were lucky enough to find ourselves with bar seating which allowed for space between us and our surroundings. Our waiter was excellent and very helpful in ordering. Her timing throughout the dining experience was perfect. The atmosphere was light and energetic. Our mussels were cooked just right. They came with bread and butter too! We tried both of the specialty wines and they were immaculate. We ordered the duck and they were kind enough to split the portions evenly between me and my partner. Our meal was properly priced for the service and atmosphere. We had optimal seating as I could see the kitchen and the bar behind me. We 100% will be coming back to this resturant for special occasions (and to try the Escargot) Thank you :)

If you have never been to a real French restaurant then Avert may be adequate. Mist of the food has no taste. The steaks were overcooked probably waiting for the asperges. Fortunately, we had a gift card, otherwise, I would not go back or recommend.

Service was great and food was very appetizing. I highly recommend the crème brûlée french toast.

Very reliable, consistently good food & drink. Great for people-watching outside & in. Part of excellent West Hartford "trifecta" : Zohara, Treva & Àvert. Try them all.

Pretty good overall. Pork belly appetizer was delicious, as was the duck and steak frites. The bourguignon was a very odd dish and would not recommend. I expected a rich stew but got two pieces of short rib on a sort of cheese sauce under it. This was really disappointing because it is one of my favorite French dishes and this interpretation did not work for me. The profiteroles were terrible and overcooked but the cheesecake was excellent.

Appetizers and entreés were great. For dessert, the profiteroles were overcooked so only the ice cream was edible. Otherwise, the other desserts ordered were enjoyed
