Over priced and disgusting. Pictures of their gray hot and sour soup. Noodles..like no one would notice. Topped with old tofu and undeveloped mushrooms. No bamboo shoots at all. You should really be ashamed of yourselves!!!

Disappointed we didn’t get to eat because the kitchen was on a lunch break from 3:00- 3:30. Now I’ve worked in restaurants over 30 years and if you don’t serve between that time then you should be closed. Or state these hours as closed. The front staff asked if we would wait and I asked if they were closed they said no the kitchen went on a lunch break. I guess they all went on a break together. This would not be ok in any other restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant staff very friendly. And having food allergies I was able to find a dish that was absolutely delicious. 🤤 come down if you’re in the area.

The best restaurant in WeHa and Sonny is an awesome individual. He uses unique recipes compared to your standard take our Chinese place. And he gives a lot back to the West Hartford community.

Ordered black bamboo for the first time and was instantly impressed. I could see why it was so busy when I came in. The two young ladies behind the counter were ROCKSTARS!!! Between tables coming in and patrons waiting for take out, they were a dynamic duo at its finest. Food is superb, venue is well maintained, and staff are the embodiments of excellent customer service. Way to go BLACK BAMBOO!

I have been coming here for a long time. They keep raising the prices and giving out less food at the same time, which is a bad combination for a food business . I ordered the shrimp and broccoli today for almost $18.00. It came with 4 shrimp. When I used to order it would come with at least 6. They also used to have shrimp fried rice as a reasonably priced add on. Now it is too expensive to justify.
I will not be going back anymore. $18.00 for 4 shrimp is where my line is drawn. Thank you Black Bamboo. You have been a great part of my history in CT and you have tasty food, but I will now be taking my business elsewhere... Some place where I can get more value for my money.

Fantastic food and great staff. I’ve been ordering from Black Bamboo for over 13 years. Portion sizes are perfect. Vegan And gluten free options are available making it a great choice for anyone. I also recently did a catering order and Sonny the owner worked with me to create a great spread for all my guests.

We ordered for an end of year gathering at our school. They helped us select our menu for 70 plus people which included gluten and vegetarian options. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. The owner delivered the food to our location and helped us set up. Serving spoons, plates, and condiments were included. My favorite was the sesame chicken and boneless spare ribs. Everyone raved about the food. Highly recommend!

Way TOO MUCH SALT!!! Shrimp with broccoli and shrimp with lobster sauce- very salty- shared with family and one of them with high blood pressure became sick because of all the salt- got a migraine because of the sodium from the food and this was all they ate that day.
Why use so much salt if you care about the health of customers? We can never buy again because of the sodium overuse and in multiple dishes- no need for that.
Shrimp also weirdly mushy and soft - shrimp that are cooked well should give slightly in the mouth.

Worst customer service
Two stars maybe because new building is beautiful and front end staff, although they always tend to look similarly (which is suspect), tend to be helpful.
With that, got sick from the food we ordered. Food way too salty; shrimp in both dishes were too few for the ridiculously high price of the entrees; shrimp are farm-raised and/or chemically-treated in some way because they are super squishy in your mouth and have no firmness whatsoever when you bite into them - they are mushy! Yuck.
Fried rice was tasteless and dry. Other entree we had was tasteless as well and contained like 4 shrimp (yes, mushy ones) for over $25 with nothing else in it!!!!
Black bamboo years ago was delicious. Now, not worth the time and effort to go. New building is cool but the food is a huge disappointment and has been for some time. Was hoping new building means better food - like before the pandemic- but a no go.
Front end staff also consistently look the same- Is that intentional?

Had them come cater our company event and absolutely delivered. Very professional from setup to serving to clean up. Crab ragoon was the best I’ve ever had (highly recommend) and the scallion pancakes surprised me how good they were! Definitely check this place out
