Delicious GF egg and cheese sandwich. They can make anything GF on the menu which is great for a celiac like me. It was nice to have soft big bread as I hardly find that anywhere. The coffee and upstairs atmosphere was nice as well. We will return.

Vibes are so bad, and vibes portend the people and food.

These are headbangers, so painful to hear Pear Jam non-stop.

Try another shop for good vibrations!

Music is too loud and anxiety inducing (rock) music. Seems like it is more for the employees than the customers who just want to enjoy or speak to a friend/partner in peace.

Second time eating here and I am disappointed, $12 for a tiny sandwich my bride was not toasted and it didn't come with chips 😐

Paid $10 for ricotta toast with roasted tomatoes. Received a piece of bread with a transparent layer of sour cream, 3 tiny roasted tomatoes and a pile of arugula. When I asked for ricotta cheese I was given a container of sour cream. Also the west Hartford store was DIRTY. I will never waste my money there again. Inedible.

Food quality was good, overpriced for the portion, extremely busy resulting in a longer wait time for order.

Immediately greeted by the owner and staff. They had the loveliest GF roll I have ever had!!!! I'm going to see if I can order the rolls to take home like the rest of their breads. Will come back again.

Service and food are great. It can be loud at times with no buffers downstairs. Not sure about upstairs.
Breakfast fare is easy and satisfying. Coffe drinks perfectly made. Staff is always on top of it all.

I visited Hartford Baking Co., and while I’ve always enjoyed their baked goods, I have to say the experience was seriously marred by how incredibly hot it was inside. The temperature was uncomfortably high, making it almost unbearable to sit and enjoy my coffee and pastry. It felt like the heat from the ovens had completely taken over the space, with little to no ventilation to alleviate the stuffy atmosphere.

I found myself sweating and eager to leave as soon as possible, which is a shame because the food here is usually great. But with the oppressive heat, it’s hard to enjoy anything.

If Hartford Baking Co. doesn’t address the temperature issue, I can’t see myself or others wanting to spend much time there, no matter how good the food is. Until then, I’ll be taking my orders to go—if I return at all.

The atmosphere is always great here (and at all locations). Nice and plenty of places to sit. Service is also always great - friendly and smiling. I’ve only had scones and coffee at any given HBC location but I cannot complain! I’ve had espressos, lattes and regular coffee - all good! Thank you for consistently good coffee and a place to hang out.

Parking: On-street metered parking is required to be paid Monday - Saturday, 9AM to 10PM. There are street or parking lots are available for parking. It can be difficult to find parking - I recommend park wherever you can and just check signs.

forgot the avocado on their most popular sandwich (avocado included) pretty much ruined the whole thing and no refund provided. huge disappointment and waste of money on an already overpriced sandwich

Everything 10/10 the food is excellent (get the avocado BLT it's my favorite and I don't even LIKE avocado), the upstairs area is so aesthetic and comfy, and the employees are all super nice and fast. One of them memorized my order after only 3 days. It's become my favorite place to spend the morning. It's great for getting work done because it feels like Gilmore Girls. High school/college students, I highly recommend this place. Definitely come here, there's something for everyone!

(Also they always have the a/c at the perfect temperature not too hot or too cold, which is pretty awesome imo)

This bakery is a staple in the Hartford area, offering some of the city's best baked goods. They have a delectable variety of breakfast and lunch items. Even on their busiest days, they are fast, efficient, and consistent, without any compromise on food quality. Highly recommend this place—it won't break the bank.
