Small and quaint coffee shop that has smaller and larger (8+/communal) tables as well as a couple outdoor spots. Menu is small but every thing is tasty! The coffee is so good that even as a creamer and sweetener person, I didn’t really need much!
My favorite coffee shop ever! Which is saying a lot because I love coffee and have visited hundreds! Everyone that works here is so kind we love coming here as a fav neighborhood spot on the weekends. Their coffee, lattes, etc are unmatched the quality is incredible. The food and pastry is all delightful too! My 2 year old daughter asks every weekend to go to J. Rene for her fav muffin :) we love it there!!
In or passing by West Hartford and wondering if it’s an appropriate time for a coffee? Swing by J René’s and it’ll definitely be coffee time according to at least one of the six retro clocks hanging on the exposed brick wall—if not in Medellin (EST), then in Rome, Jakarta, Burundi or Melbourne. Their single origin espresso offering was actually a blend of single origins from Guatemala, Ethiopia and someplace else, but despite that and its medium roast it was full of interesting...
