Absolutely amazing place. Good drinks for good prices. Great food to go with good specialty drinks. Staff is super friendly. I highly recommend the house old fashioned it is a specialty. It's literally why I come back every time. I would come back for just the food also. I highly recommend this place. Over and over again!

Unexpected Brunch menu. Tender sweet brisket, poached egg on biscuit with a BBQ hollandaise. Other great Smokey selections at reasonable prices. Very attentive service. Looking forward to going back.

Amazing food!. Perfectly prepared, incredible smoked meats, reasonable prices and very good service. The negative reviews on here must be from people who own other restaurants and are trying to make them look bad. 4 times and never a negative thing to say. Have the mac and cheese and ribs and brisket. Just have everything you cant go wrong.

We have been many times for dinner and always have excellent food and service. The 2 meats + 2 sides is an excellent deal which ensures plenty of food and some left to take home. I love the brisket the most, but smoked turkey is delicious and very smoky, and pulled pork is excellent with the addition of any of their 4 sauces. Sides are great too. I especially love the biscuits and always wish I had room to eat more!

Dined at the Cook and the Bear several times while living in West Hartford... food ranges from delicious to okay depending on what you order. Service was pretty good, and there is a cool atmosphere in the restaurant. Can't say this is my favorite spot, but I would return again.

Usually this spot is good..... Tonight though... we waited over an hour for food which was cold, the brisket was tough and overcooked.... when the sides are better than the meat you are paying a premium for.... stay away.

Best BBQ around, and great drinks.

I went here for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely packed, had to wait about 25 minutes to get a table but it was worth it. I got the chicken and waffles Nashville hot and it was delicious. Could've fed multiple people for sure. My only complaint was it wasnt reeeally Nashville hot, it was just a bit spicy. It was also really expensive and you have to buy a tiny little side. Good food, cool atmosphere but expensive.

Went for fathers day, the ribs and sides (Mac n cheese) delicious. The line was long but the people behind the counter extremely efficient and friendly.

Service was excellent. We had the special appetizer of the night, brisket sliders. They were very tasty. The biscuits were delicious as well. I did not care for the collard greens much, and the smoked wings seemed uncooked to me. The waitress did take the wings off of the final bill when she realized I could not eat them. My daughter had the pulled pork which was good. It was not very crowded for a Friday night. Would definitely return.

This is the only bbq in the area. It's decent food, and a no frills type place. I like the corn bread... not dry. Meats are delicious as are the sides. They have different sauces for you which is a nice touch.

If you're craving some good bbq + snacks, definitely give this place a try. Their barbeque is awesome (the brisket is my favorite). They also have great cocktails and beer selection and have different specials on weekday nights. Very reasonable price point for quality food and service. Looking forward to coming back!

You can always count on cook and the bear for great food and an excellent craft beer selection! The chicken and waffles are some of the best I've ever had!
