Nice little place right behind Whole Foods in West Hartford. There are plenty of parking spots and the ambiance inside gives a Mexican local place, the theme is day of the dead hence you will see all images and decor in that fashion. We went there early during the day so there was not many patrons dining. The service was quick and the cashier is very friendly. You have to just pay for your food at the counter and the goods gets brought to your table. The food tasted so good we have tried the carne asada burrito bowl with veggies instead of rice. I would recommend trying out the bowls. I had to give a 4 star because the table we weee sitting on was sticky and may not have been cleaned thoroughly. I recommend the restaurant owner to keep the tables clean. Will go back again to try out their tacos. Good find in West Hartford

Some places serve you burritos, and some serve you BURRITOS. This thing was the size of an artillery shell and was so unbelievably flavorful and fresh. Plus, chips?! That’s just kind. They were super friendly and awesome. Can’t wait to go back.

I'm a big fan of this place. I do enjoy Mexican food and eat it quite a bit. After a while, if you go to good taco places, it feels as if there is not enough differences across the places. This is where Toro comes in. Like my daughter describes it, toro is "modern Mexican," meaning they at different ingredients, sauces, cheese etc that make the meals taste different. On a recent visit we had a burrito, nachos and a taco kit/meal. The burrito is this massive version of the burrito. Full of flavor and the tortilla is toasted on a cheese for a nice touch. The nachos were good but they were on the spicy side, so make sure to ask the server to adjust if that's not your thing. The taco meal has a lot of food and to me it was more of a taco/bowl combo where you make your own taco and have enough food to have an extra meal. We have the empanadas also, which im a big fam. The place is more of a spot where you order and eat in one of the tables, is not your traditional restaurant. The music was kind of fire (all Spanish) which gave it a "place to hang out" vibe. Overall, we will continue to visit and enjoy their food

The food tastes good especially the corn tortillas and portion is huge. But WHY SO SALTY?!?! It feels like you are drinking sea water when you take a bite!! The salsa, sour cream are all super duper salty!! I would totally go back if they do half of the salt they put in there though. The salt totally ruined the good taste.

We love Toro! Casual eatery, with tons of options, including for kids and vegetarians, and the whole place is gluten free. The burrito has some kind of cooked cheese on the outside and is to die for. They also make a mean mezcal margarita, would recommend.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
