Great spot in West Haven!, 744 West has a comfortable vibe, friendly staff, and solid food. Everything came out fresh and tasted great. It’s a nice local place to grab a bite, relax, and enjoy good service. Definitely a go-to for a laid-back meal in town. Highly recommend.

Who would have known… great little restaurant and bar sitting on RT 1. If there’s such thing as a reasonably priced restaurant anymore, this is it. And, it’s good food. One of the best values around.

Service was good but my Swordfish was overcooked. Also today is a 90 degree day and the restaurant was uncomfortably hot. The thermostat looked like it was set to 87.

Guess It Was Fate
I've been to 744 West many times and the food is always amazing. Their menu is very extensive and impressive and their portions are ENORMOUS! My friend and I had the Eggplant parmigiana over linguini and although very inexpensively priced at $14.99 it came with soup or salad and the portion was enough for three! Brittany is an outstanding waitress who works very hard and is very attentive. I can't praise her enough or 744 West! I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant.

My food is always amazing. We went for my moms birthday. I normally order add on open food to my meals to make them just right for me. I have been eating here for years and I only ordered three items off the menu. My food was great as always. It’s just I was charged more for my add on items than I am normally charged. Great food!

I usually pop in before 3pm with some friends or my mom but 8/27/24 my son and I wanted a quick meal without the hectic atmosphere of a big chain restaurant. First off I must say the waitress we usually have in the earlier part of the day is one of your best!! (Sorry can't remember her name) This is first time I've had a male waiter and his attitude sucked!! Ever time he came to our table it was like we needed to hurry ,for example once I said I didn't want anything to drink but water ( diabetic) rather take my calories in my meal. Never offered to bring my salad before my main entre` ,when served it he practically threw it in front of me.Now I'm feeling some kind of way . When our entres` come out very disappointed, my son love you chicken tenders and fries but it looked like chicken nuggets and the bottom of the fryer fries..my Delmonico 10oz steak had atleast 5oz of fat grisle hidden under a pound of tasteless mushrooms .Then after not coming to check how is everything 25 minutes later I'm still choking down this subpar meal and he asked "you need a to go container".I NEVER write reviews even when I don't enjoy what I order but the callousness and disregard he served us with was unbelievable!!! I know you guys is a small business but don't lose quality and family style hospitality..

The best thing about this place is the prices. They have fantastic prices. $10.99 for 8 decent sized wings? Who else does that? Most joints are out here trying to get $2 per wing now. I believe the buffalo shrimp was the same price ($10.99) for 7 big fried shrimp. The food decent but it isn’t going to blow your mind. That’s just me though cause I know a ton of people who love this place. My personal favorite thing was the chili, my only complaint is that it has no beans in it. When I want chili now, I no longer have to go to Wendy’s. Wings and buffalo shrimp were good but were a little too saucy for me so next time I’d probably just ask them to go light on the sauce. Good blue cheese, ok creamy garlic but nowhere near as good as Lorenzo’s creamy garlic. Definitely worth the price. Fantastic staff too. Definitely have to try a burger next time.
