The lady was rude on the phone first of all second of all I ordered sesame General toast, chicken With house rice The general toast chicken was very hard and the chicken inside the of the rice was not cooked Will never order from this place again

I have been getting takeout from Golden Island for many years now
I've ordered many items and the food has always been delicious and fresh
The chef is skilled and she is very nice
The only criticism I have is the interior of the restaurant needs to be freshened up
Otherwise the food and service is excellent

This food took an hour to get and it’s a Tuesday!
Please don’t listen to any other people who say the food is good here. Because it’s straight from restaurant depot. The majority of the food was so bland that an unsalted saltine cracker has more taste to it than this food. So disappointed!

I used door dash. The food was hot upon arrival. But the food was bland. The dumplings were the standard frozen brand they bought from a wholesaler. The fried rice was bland, and the general tso's was not spicy.

I try every spot in town when I move and I gotta say this is the best Sesame Chicken in New Haven. They don't skimp on the Sesame seeds, and the chicken to breading ratio is just right. Super pleasant people as well. Crab rangoons are also to die for. Overall every time I've gone it's been a great experience so stop reading this and go order from them.

Best Chinese food in West Haven. About the 3rd time I have ordered the same dish and I must say, they are consistent! Fresh rice with vegetables. The boneless ribs are tender and not hard. Fried chicken wings, lo mein. All great. My lil one loves picking out the fresh peas before eating the rest of the food. I will continue to purchase from them.

Pleasantly surprised by this hole-in-the-wall take out. A craving hit on a Monday night and my normal place was closed. Nothing was too greasy, and everything was fresh and hot. The sesame chicken wasn't all breading and had a good flavor, and the Singapore mei fun had a nice spice to it. I'll definitely be adding Golden Island to my regular list!

Sweet and sour chicken was good but Wonton soup was very salty.

Food was too salty

Most of the stuff i got from here didnt taste that good. Chicken pad thai was ok but no lime and didnt seem like any pad thai ive had before. Chicken was tough. Rice was ok, only thing good was the pineapple.
