The place is very nice and quiet, but the food is a complete mess, simple tasteless, cold and old I really don't recommend it.

I Want to give Jimmies a Good Rating The Restaurant is Almost 100 Years Old It’s Building is Charming and Historic It used to be famous for their amazing Seafood platters They are Famous for their Fried clams, and hotdogs and sides of crinkle cut Fries and onion rings . Perhaps they don’t do the business they used to… not sure why?? ? I DID enjoy the Fried Seafood Platter. Prices are average for todays prices. Everywhere is pricey in Todays World. Service was Great! The View of Beach was Beautiful !! I Believe if the owner cleaned up the parking lot. Spruced it up with some flowers?? FOR PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW….. JIMMIES RESTAURANT IS A CONNECTICUT HISTORICAL LANDMARK. BE EVER SO HAPPY WE STILL HAVE IT TO VISIT. Restaurant itself is a bit outdated but if you were almost 100 years old, wouldn’t you be? Still have to give Lots of Credit to Still Being there…A Historic Restaurant Still Open in Savin Rock And it’s still Open with Wonderful Memories to Chat about and Reminisce. It is clean and The Staff is Very Welcoming Go on and Visit or Revisit. It is worth the Trip. They have a wide variety of Foods They do serve Wine and Cocktails and a Children’s Menu. I Wish Jimmies Lots of Luck and Hope they Continue Serving All of us customers. It’s was a pleasure visiting with you Thank you ?

Dirty, smelly and surly service. Fried food tastes like the grease hasn’t been changed since old Savin rock.

Years ago we came at least once a year and loved it.
Today was a disappointment.
We got lobster rolls. The least amount of lobster I've ever been served.
The place needs a facelift desperately.
Our waitress was very good and we showed it with the tip.
Sorry I didn't get her name. She was a mature dark haired woman and had glasses. She was about 5 feet .tall

After a 30 year absence my sons took me there for my birthday. The parking lot looked like it had not been upgraded since the last time I was there. The building looked pathetic. Mold all over shingles that had not been upgraded since the building was constructed. A post holding up the entrance was crooked since it was hit by a car. The carpet had never been replaces and the walls never painted. We sat down to an empty restaurant. The waitress was very courteous and polite. She took our order efficiently. The food took forever to come. It was not served immediately like it is at Lenny & Joes or Bill's in Westport. It came all together and was cold. I ordered the famous Fried Flounder. I couldn't eat it. The fish was 3 days old. It did not smell fresh. I needed a chain saw to cut into it. It was hard as shoe leather and could not eat it. I told the waitress. She offered me an alternative, but I lost my appetite. In all honesty it was the worst restaurant experience I ever experienced in my life. The place should be condemned and shut down by the board of health.

This place is an outdated dump! The food was good years ago I don't know what happened. My friend returned the clams because they didn't smell right. My hotdogs were undercooked. The service was slow. For the price, it's not worth it. Good luck eating here.

It's tradition for my husband because he was from Wallingford and they always went here so now every time we drive up to Maine this is our stop both ways. He starts with a hotdog and then either gets the fried clams strips or the mix or strips and shrimp and they are always good. I got the broiled scallops, shrimp and swordfish which I was surprised how good it was along with the side soup. Our server Justin is from there and really took good care of us. We will be back.

Zero stars! This place is a dump. Food sucks prices are high. Service is awful.
I don’t understand how they have not gone out of business yet.

My fried scallops were fried perfectly. Tender and delicious . My cole slaw is excellent . Fresh. Probably home-made. The broth on the clam chowder was wonderful.
