0 stars for me, no customer service what so ever. In my opinion, The Plate in Milford is so much better, slightly higher in price, but so worth it. My wife and I went to Nick's Luncheonette for breakfast on Sat morning April 6, 2024 and had 2 breakfast wraps, so we decided to order 2 cheese burger deluxe to go and have for dinner that evening to avoid going out again.Total was appx. $56 including tax & tip. I understand it was several hours later when we ate it. Lettuce was wilted, cheese had disinteragrated (so I added my own cheese + some mushrooms), and was not at all well done like I had asked for. (View pic below) The french fries were coated in some kind of messy batter and were nasty to me. My wife tried to eat some but ended up throwing them out.I have tried to call them since then, but I could not get anyone. I went online the following Weds, 4/10 and saw they close at 3 pm. Now It is 4 days later, at 3:23 p.m., that I finally got to speak to Irene. I explained to her what had happened. She was very condescending and unapologetic. She acted like I was stupid and kept saying, "Well, it's been 4 days," not even trying to understand that my burger was medium rare and not well done like I had requested. It seemed she really did not care and once again offered no apology. I asked for a manager, and  that's when she said she was the manager. I found out Irene is also Nick's wife. A simple, I am sorry for that would do and I'm happy/finished, but not even. I told her I would write a review about this, but she did not care. The next day, I called and asked for Nick (the owner) but had to call him back later in the day, and when I did, I once again explained what happened. All I got from him was the same results. A total waste of time and effort. As you are reading this and other reviews, (most of which are good) you can see they never, not once (as of now) offered any kind of apology or a thank you to any customer whether satisfied or not. They simply do not own up. It seems like they just don't care. I believe any credible business would & should respond to any reasonable (especially negative) review they receive. Please do not waste your time here if you're having an issue with your food +/or customer service. Also, check your to go order before leaving. It really seems like both of them do not care if you return to eat there or are having issues with your food. It seems to be all about the $ and not your satisfaction, food & experience. I am really sad about having to write a review like this. I rarely have to write such a negative one, but its all true, and they deserve it.

The food is okey service is okay The only thing is they would discriminate if you come to this place alone, they will try to squeeze you with the other people or very close to other people they wouldn't give you the booth to sit. This happened to me on many occasions last time it happened to me they had four booths available And it was a weekday they wouldn't sit me there unbelievableWith all this being said will I go there again Im not sure .By the way I told the waitress that this happened to me many times in this place and she wouldn't careIf you're a single and going there alone I would not recommend you to go here you going to be a disappointed hungry and sadChoose your breakfast place wisely

Really a great address!!! If you're in the New Haven area, you absolutely have to stop by Nick's.We stopped this afternoon for a lunch break and we had a great time. We were taken care of by Kim who was adorable, attentive and patient (given our great English accent). The dishes were served in less than 10 minutes. And they were delicious and very filling. Special mention for the fries which seem to be breaded. And the Crab Cake is to die for!!!A big thank you for your welcome and kindness and for treating us.If we return to the Eastern United States, we will come back with pleasure.

Terrific breakfast experience. We had the Monte Cristo and their big breakfast and both choices were delicious. Food arrived at our table within 10 minutes of ordering. All necessary condiments/coffee supplies were plentiful and readily available at the table, no need to ask for anything. Servers were very attentive and quick with coffee refills, although I thought the coffee was not very good (hubby liked it). Would absolutely eat here again.

Flavor and quality of the food is great. Not the least expensive option for lunch, and the beverage prices are high. Nevertheless, a good option for a pastrami or corned beef Reuben sandwich.
