Had diarrhea for a whole week, then found out it was food poisoning. I ordered fried scallops. The only way you can mess that up is if you leave the raw scallops out of the fridge for more than 20 minutes (against health code for good reason).

This is a great place. The cashier who took my order was very nice. She even brought my order out front to my car when it was ready which was very nice of her. The vibe feels welcoming inside. The scallops are amazing! I always get my mom whole belly clams. You can get the dinner or lunch option.

We love the sandbar. We drive 35 min to get their fried fish for Christmas Eve dinner. It's really fresh with a really good fried coating. It's our favorite fried seafood around.

I've been stopping at the Sandbar for a couple years now, My usual Go to items are whole belly clam rolls or dinner and a Scallop roll or dinner The seafood is always cooked to order, Battered and deep fried and is always delicious While the restaurant might not seem spectacular to some, its a nice place to pop into if you like battered seafood not overcooked but just perfectly cooked its easy to miss leaving elm st if you get on the Kimberly Ave Bridge into New Haven you went past, coming from New Haven cross the bridge and its right at the foot of the bridge on the right side
Wow! My boyfriend and I spilt the sandbar combo. Don't try to eat one by yourself, it's ALOT of food. But it's delicious! My first time trying fried clams and scallops. So good! Also the best fries I had on my trip.

An associate of mine invited me to lunch and we ate at the Sandbar. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Jimmy’s use to be my favorite seafood place until they started serving tiny shrimp and labeling them gulf shrimp. Now the Sand Bar is my favorite seafood place. The shrimp, scallop and onion rings are to die for. Don’t listen to the negative reviews about this place. The food and service is the best. Ooh and by the way, don’t believe that the reviews are fake because they are not. I wouldn’t be surprised if the negative reviews are from competitors. Try it for yourself and be your own judge. If you find that most of the positive reviews out way the negative, then bank on the establishment being good.

Tasty and Delicious Seafood. I've ordered from this restaurant several times over the course of 30 days. The taste/flavors of the seafood combos are very consistent. The best part is...I don't have a tummy ache after as I can am very sensitive to the grease/0il food is fried in.
