Love the ice cream here! Its opening is one of my fav parts of Summer. Never was a soft serve fan until I had the one here! It's as good as Stu Leonards. The sundaes are great with plenty of hot fudge sauce. Wish they were open right now cause I be craving!!

I’m giving you guys 1 star so be grateful. The ice cream was alright, what I can say is that the customer service was bad. As a customer that just spent 33 dollars I don’t understand why I’m getting a nasty attitude for asking how much the Italian ice was because the price wasn’t on the board like the rest of the items. I love supporting local businesses, but this was just sad.

As a self proclaimed ice cream connoisseur I have to say that the savin rock smores is one for the books

The people who run this ice cream shop do not represent the spirit of ice cream in the slightest.

Theres a difference between running a business and refusing to add sprinkles for a kid's cup of ice cream that was most definitely not heard when ordered because my 3 year old daughter always prefers her ice cream with sprinkles and I never forget to ask for it OR would have refused paying extra for it had my order been delivered correctly the first time.

I'm not here to bash my local ice cream store that I've been going to since I was a young lad, but the fact that I went up to the window, told them they forgot to add sprinkles to my little lady's kid sized cup of ice cream and they said I had to order a side-cup of sprinkles for a dollar instead of just handing me a plastic spoon with sprinkles in it to top off my daughter's little cup of ice cream after I had JUST spent $21 at their business...is bananas.

If a business makes a mistake, it's on them to correct it without upcharging the customer for it. I shouldn't have to dig up my wallet and swipe my card a single measly dollar to just get a dash of rainbow sugar on a toddler's cup of ice cream. After my wife complained about it to them when I told her they wanted to charge me a dollar...for sprinkles...one of the ladies accused her of just wanting "free stuff."

Just to clarify. She accused a customer who had just spent $21 on no more than 6 scoops of ice cream...of wanting free sprinkles...

I feel like it would've been kinder, easier and more ethical to say "Oh, sorry about that. Here's a little spoon with sprinkles."

Again, I hope it's clear that I literally would have happily paid $22 for the correct order. The extra dollar would not have bankrupted me. $21 is 99% of $22. I can afford the difference, but rewarding that kind of business practice is exactly how things don't change.

It's very telling how they respond to the negative reviews here. I'm excited to see how they'll end up spinning this.

Please do better Savin Rock Creamery. Or else I'll give my sprinkle money to the truck down the road.

EDIT: Have to change my original 2-star review to a 1-star. As expected, not only did they take no responsibility for their mistake, but are also lying about the interaction.

My wife wasn't screaming at any staff, she was talking to them, through a barely open glass window on the busiest street in West Haven with cars and motorcycles going by.

You don't need a business degree to run a decent ice cream store, and this is officially the worst one in this city you can spend your money at.

Poor customer service
Openly rude staff
Overall shabby and outdated inside and out
Unkept looking staff no hats or hair nets or anything
The smell of cigarettes when you walk up is nauseating but I should’ve known better as I live down the street and have seen a woman smoking out front regularly? the service I witnessed with customer in front of me was so uninterested and unprofessional I just walked away because the smell had already ruined it for me and the attitudes just topped it off???
Wish we had an actual ice cream shop by the beach because this place is just trash. Tried several times over the years but it never improves and this last experience with the smell was too gross to bother again???
*in response to the hostile and unwarranted response to my honest review… I live nearby and have stopped in a couple times over the years with no personal interactions or incidents of any kind. Ordered and left like any other random customer. Until the last visit when I found the shop too distasteful to even order from so I left without even speaking. I do not know the staff here nor do I even know any of their names. Your nasty and unprofessional response here has been my only interaction with staff here other than ordering an ice cream . An honest review is not the harassment you’re falsely claiming. My review stands. You can’t do anything about it. If you’d like better reviews clean the place up and do better. Simple. If you can not interact with the public appropriately and accept honest reviews from the community that also speaks a lot about your business. You can’t bully every bad review and you can’t stalk reviewers online to get them to remove reviews. Grow up and do better business

*no one cares about your boyfriends trash bike club. Stop trying to use that connection to intimidate people. The only people that take that seriously are drug addicts and trash. Stalking me online begging my cousins to delete review is really wierd af. I don’t know you. No one cares. You’re wierd. Oh well. It was the first and last time I went, very bad attitude on the part of the ladies who serve too expensive for the amount, I wanted them to change the flavor of my banana split for another and they did not want to and said that if they did they would charge extra, I asked an extra spoon and they also wanted to charge. Worst service in the world, don't go and don't waste your time.

Way over price not worth it….Updated, I left a review a few days ago after going here to which the owner replied “I was not at their business” extremely unprofessional and rude considering I was you can definitely run back your cameras to see. A review is meant to be feedback please take my review as that. Thank you

Ice cream was creamy and cherry dip was really good, it is one window order but line wasn’t bad at. Price is pretty regular price for ice cream, i do work at a place that serves ice and we have similar prices.
