Charter Oak Tavern is a charming, lovely small restaurant and a great gem on the shoreline. The interior is quirky and fresh with very cute decor, creating a chill and cozy atmosphere. The menu is straightforward, not over inventive, but the food is extremely good, amazing, and truly fantastic. The chef is clearly extremely talented, with every dish delivering incredible, clean, vivid, and beautifully defined flavors. Appetizers like the bacon-wrapped dates and salmon appetizer are fantastic and out of this world. Entrees such as the duck, chicken breast, mushroom bolognese, Cacio e Pepe, and scallops are fabulous, cooked to perfection, and blow diners away. Desserts like the butter cake and chocolate torte are divine and memorable. The service is warm, friendly, delightful, and attentive, with wonderful, lovely servers. It is a small venue, so it is best to make a reservation. This restaurant is a favorite on the shoreline, providing an exceptional dining experience.
