Our party had a wonderful time at Dattilo Fine Italian at Water's Edge. We went to the restaurant on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant is beautiful overlooking the water. The staff/servers were very nice an accommodating and friendly. The food was amazing and the variety was incredible. They offered so much breakfast and dinner items as well as desserts, The price for the brunch price was $49.00 and it is definitely the best price around. I highly recommend this restaurant definitely a 10 out of 10.
I ordered the Arancini and the Meatball, they were both very bland, the sauce tasted like tomato soup. The server asked if I like it and I told him no, he did have the items removed from the check. The other entrées we ordered were the filet mignon and the beet gnocchi. The filet was about 4 oz which came with whipped truffle potatoes and white asparagus, potato was approximately a 2 oz scoop along with 4 cut in half asparagus, the beet gnocchi was an experience, not good at all. Our Easter dinner was horrible and our family was so looking forward to a pleasurable holiday dinner.
Simple a first class brunch with great food selections and quality, excellent service, great view. Just a wonderful experience every time we go
This is a very nice place, right on L.I. sound; extremely picturesque. The service is excellent as the staff is very attentive and efficient. However, the food was terrible. My rib eye was a mass of sinew and the steak had no taste. The polenta was not particularly palatable either. It turned us off from visiting their other restaurant.
We stayed at the Water's Edge Resort and Spa for 4 nights recently and made a reservation for their Lobster night. My husband LOVES lobster. His dinner was so overcooked that the meat stuck to the shell and mussels were poorly seasoned. My pasta primavera was dull and the pasta was dried out. My daughter loved her chicken fingers. Our sever was awesome and we tipped (over 20%) based her responsiveness and professionalism. I was highly surprised about the food at the resort overall as this is a beautiful establishment, but the food did not live up to the surroundings.
Unfortunately, Dattilo failed to meet our expectations. We did sit at the table for some time, totally unnoticed by multiple waiters, but I did finally flag one down. Service was OK thereafter, nothing special. Dattilo has a Friday Prime Rib special that we both ordered. Unfortunately, the Prime was not top quality as expected in a place like Dattilo - Other local restaurants do Prime better. The Primes were cooked just as ordered, one medium rare and the other medium. However, instead of a normal slice, the meat was cut very thinly, had a bunch of fat and gristle included in it, but was somewhat tender and tasty after you carved out the bad stuff. Overall, the Prime was not great and most disappointing. Their choice of vegetables was good with the plate having both asparagus and carrots but there were only four small asparagus and maybe a spoonful of carrots which seemed a bit sparse and less than generous. Again, surprising for a $38 plate where you expected more. It had been a while since we had had Prime so we both were really looking forward to Dattilo's Prime but were not thrilled. We do love Dattilo Restaurant but they really need to work on upgrading the quality of their meat plus the quantity of their vegetable servings. It was more like diner quality food than what you would expect from a nice restaurant in my opinion -The “special“ was much less than “special “. We'll be back to give them another chance, maybe even to try their Prime Rib again, but hopefully they will make some improvements before we do.
Excellent dinner and the dining room was very quiet tonight which was great for conversation. Only complaint was that the baked potato was cold. Clam chowder delicious as always. Creme brulee was also delicious.
Hostess was a pro who took care of my wife and I for date night with grace and ease, many thanks for such considerate accommodations. Teddy, our server, made sure our delicious lobster 🦞 tails and prime rib special (which looked as good as they tasted, superb!) were served with the friendliness of a home away from home; and was an all star. The manager even popped by to make sure that we were happily well fed. From the back of the house to the front, a very well oiled machine that made for a great date night before a show at the Kate. I would recommend this to anyone, enjoy!
My wife and I love going to Wateredge resort. It's a bueatiful place great shows in winter and an Awsome brunch buffet year round. Love it

Stayed for a week in October. Lucky to have the most amazing weather for the whole week! Highly recommend this resort. Grounds were pristine, restaurant food was excellent, beach is beautiful, room very spacious and clean, workout area and pool/jacuzzi are all very nice. We took full advantage of everything the resort offers and were very impressed. The area has tons of restaurants and shopping. Would love to stay here again ❤️❤️
Great location with view of ocean but food was mediocre. Not impressed with clam chowders.

If it wasn’t for the location this place would be closed.
Food is definitely not Italian or upscale.
The best thing we’ve eaten was the frozen ciabatta bread they serve.
Even the coffee was very bad.
Just grab a burger at the cafe and enjoy the view

Service was outstanding, every staff was so nice and accommodating. Food was very good, lots of brunch choices/options. Best made to order omelet we have had yet! Special shout-out to the wonderful hostess, as we had a slight issue with our reservation (our fault) & she very graciously accommodated us with no hesitation.
Despite a pretty room with a lovely view, our experience was HORRIBLE! Never in my life have I walked out of a restaurant mid meal until coming here. What minimal food we did receive in 2 HOURS was bland or incorrect. We had to constantly request basics, ie. utensils, salt/pepper, cheese, ice bucket for open bottle of wine, etc. We were a party of 4 and only 3 people were served their dinner. NO DINNER for the fourth person. Meanwhile, this madness was happening all around us at other tables as well. Such a disgrace and shame, the poor table staff were left in tears as managers hide behind computers. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back!
