My only regret was how long it took for me to check this place out. Everything on the menu is stellar. My only tip is if you visit, please be ready to EAT. A LOT. Updated to add a few notes: We've been four times now and noticed the same quirk with each visit - they're VERY stingy with napkins which is wild because the burgers and apps are heavy-duty and super messy, and they're also very stingy with drink refills. We've had different servers each time and the same issue each time, so just something to note - you will get messy! We've even asked for more napkins and were given literally one more for the two of us to use lol. Kinda weird. The food still absolutely slaps though. Edited on 2/16/26 to update regarding a recent visit: The same weird refill and napkin issue persists so I docked a few stars - refills were never provided and when we asked for more napkins (the food is good but so so messy) they just dropped off exactly two napkins, one extra for each of us. We burned through them in about two seconds flat. Also, the booth behind us was full of employees who were sitting and chatting between checking on the tables and they were swearing constantly - I'm not bothered by that per se, but c'mon guys, you're at work and there are kids around. I love the food I just don't get why the service is so consistently strange.

Love this place. Great food, great people. Erica is wonderful and we have been lucky enough to be in her section twice now. Its becoming rare these days to find a place where everyone seems happy to be there, especially the staff.

This restaurant clearly has the potential to earn five stars—their burgers look and sound fantastic. Unfortunately, it’s extremely disappointing that a burger-focused restaurant does not offer a plant-based burger patty as a substitution on any of their signature burgers. In this day and age, that’s a significant and avoidable oversight.
While there are a few vegetarian items on the menu, that misses the point. When people choose to go to a burger bar, they want a burger—not a grilled cheese sandwich. Offering a plant-based patty would allow vegetarians to actually participate in the core experience rather than settling for an afterthought.
What makes this especially frustrating is that this is a simple accommodation that wouldn’t require major menu changes, yet it would immediately make the restaurant more inclusive and appealing to a wider audience. My husband eats meat but refuses to dine at places that won’t accommodate my dietary preferences, so this decision costs the restaurant more than one customer. Restaurants that recognize and act on this opportunity stand to gain—those that don’t are choosing to leave customers behind.

Very cool burger joint. My family and I go to the Polar Express train ride in Essex and always go to Haywire Burger afterwards. Their burgers are definitely first-rate (as is all the items on the menu) and staff are always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Excellent burgers and rotating local and regional draft beer selection. When I'm down in the area, I always try to make my way over for one of their burgers as they are some of the best I've had in the state. Their special of the apple butter BBQ burger was so good.

We walked in to a blank stare from the hostess. No smile,no how are you,nothing. Just how many,as if she didn't see it was only 3 of us. Then,this way. Seated up and went about her way. Even our server wasn't welcoming. Just a blank stare. Could it be because we're minorities? We've been to this establishment before and had a pleasant experience. What changed?

STAY AWAY!! Been here 3 times and all 3 experiences were not pleasant. First time my girl and I got burgers, woke up in the middle of the night stomach sick… decided to go back a second time and give them a shot as these things happen, We waited 25 minutes before even being asked what we wanted to drink, and when the girl finally did come over she treated us like we inconvenienced her and was just overall rude for no reason. The food is average, much better burgers other places… maybe it’s just us but I think this place just isn’t it in all aspects.

We had the best experience after a long day of traveling! I’m sure during warmer weather there would be a wait, but we got right in. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was incredible. My husband had the Bacon Cheeseburger (no onions) and I had the Figgy Jammin. Both cooked medium. Mine was an amazing mix of salty/sweet. Fries were excellent. If we are in the area again, we will definitely return!

The only issue I have is I can't have a burger from here every day. My partners dog stole my left overs and I seriously considered prying his mouth open to save my beautiful burger for myself. Such a travesty.
