Honestly this place has good food, but it is nothing compared to pink sumo. If you want good cheep sushi go to pink sumo during happy hour. Go from 3-6pm, it is hands down the best restaurant in Westport. Pink sumo is the best.
Great restaurant, delicious and fresh sushi. Friendly service with good price
Matsu Sushi reopened after a recent closure, but I've been disappointed by their 1) ability to deliver on promises when it comes to quality, 2) ability to deliver friendly service (trying to put in an order by phone, but apparently that's very hard for them...), 3) ability to provide what's on the menu. No more Matsu Sushi for me.
came here for dinner last night and had some of the best vegetable tempora i've had in a while lol!! great service too the waitress was really helpful and patient with my disabled son :)
It's not the same owners anymore. Went from my favorite restaurant in the area to my least favorite. New ownership using the same name.
What a sad little restaurant. There's a reason no one is there besides teens with dad's credit card. The first time I've left a half dozen pieces on the plate. Bad fish. Never more.
We have been coming to Matsu for more than 15 years now, and can say that the quality has dramatically declined recently. Instead of traditional rolls with freshly sliced fish, they instead opt for a ground fish “pasteâ€, even in their most expensive rolls. This seems to happen predominantly with take out, presumably so you can't send the rolls back. We were told that it's common for them now, and that you have to specifically ask for fresh fish in your rolls. Very sad to see such a staple of Westport decline so dramatically.
I thought reopening would make their service better; however, the service there just got worse. I ordered my sushi, and it turned out they didn't even make it after 2 hours.
The sushi is good but the service is extremely slow.
amazing fresh tasting pieces of sushi and phenmoinal sushi sandwhichðŸ‘

Superior sushi on the Saugatuck river.
Fresh Sushi with quite a few options. As a vegetarian, obviously I had less options but it was tasty enough to make me visit again!
Food is pretty bad, but even worse they mistreat their workers. Google "Matsu Sushi NLRB".
Excellent - My 1st Choice for the best sushi.
Best, most authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine in Westport using only high quality, fresh ingredients.
