Well I guess it just happens...and it has to OKO Westport- We were longtime fans. Unfortunately something has changed- Service was poor - all round. Food was meh. Sticky ribs were old- cabbage salad was flat- no flavor to speak of. Realizing there are a couple of new hot Sushi spots in Westport to compete with- I was hopeful that OKO would remain top notch.
We had an outstanding experience at this restaurant. The décor is modern and sophisticated, creating an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. The service was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening. What truly stood out, however, was the quality of the food. Every dish was crafted with precision and authenticity, offering exceptional flavors that exceeded our expectations. Amazing experience. Great service, loved the decor and atmosphere was comfortable. The sticky ribs were one of the best things I ever put into my mouth, along with the crunchy rice waygu they have on the menu. Miso soup, truffled eggs, and the HUGE bento box were on point. The desserts were phenomenal, don’t sleep on those matcha Kit Kats! I despite matcha and you can’t taste any of the match (which was a plus for me, maybe not for others).
