As always we were entirely satisfied by the experience. Such a lovely place, friendly people and great food. The mussels and the chicken were outstanding and the salmon appetizer truly memorable. Thanks a lot!
Rive Bistro is an elegant, casual dining place serving excellent French/ Continental based food. The restaurant on the River front has a nice, scenic view
Very authentic menu and presentation. The food is delicious and served in a wonderful riverside location.
One of the most beautiful spots in Westport, CT. Eating riverside on the boardwalk is magical. The food is delicious. The manager Caroline is a gem who went out of her way to make the night super special! Great staff, cuisine and ambience. Rive Bistro is a hit!
A lovely venue for a get together for dinner with friends. Menu is simple but complete with traditional French and other dishes. Service was professional and attentive but not rushed. We'll be back and will recommend to others.
We love this restaurant and this time we brought friends and they enjoyed very much! Always good food and a nice ambiance!
We enjoyed our food . Had the sword fish special and it was great . Check out the steak frittes! The chocolate sundae is fantastic !
Lovely riverfront dining with a romantic French atmosphere. Great cocktail list! Highly recommend!
Lovely evening outside on the river bank. Food was excellent -- burrata and eggplant puree, specials scallops, French onion soup and roasted chicken. Service was lovely. Friendly, knowledgeable servers and great timing. altogether a very nice evening.
We have come to expect a flawless and exceptional experience here. Appetizers and entrees alike are well-prepared and inventive and generously sized for French cuisine. The cocktails are uniquely French and memorable, standing out from other restaurants. The female owner is delightful, warm, and inviting to all. What impressed me most is how the serving staff is completely in sync with the back of the house timing appetizers well without rushing you to entrees, and then ensuring everything is served hot and beautifully presented.

Utterly perfect in every way. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and the location can't be beat.
Food and ambience cannot be beat. Great service staff, but the magic comes from manager/ hostess Caroline who creates a very special atmosphere- including a fabulous Bastille day celebration with French jazz which made the evening feel like a big party. Deborah

I visited this establishment today with a large party, including my two young children, and had the worst experience at a restaurant ever. The hostess, a woman with a French accent, was openly disrespectful, providing curt replies and speaking in a dismissive tone when I inquired about our reservation and the availability of high chairs. This behavior occurred in front of my children, which made the encounter both unsettling and unnecessary.
I have visited this restaurant on several previous occasions and I truly question the decision to appoint this individual to this front-facing role. Given the reputation she has created for herself and the simultaneous decline in food quality, the situation is concerning. All that can reasonably be hoped is that ownership eventually transitions to someone with greater expertise in the hospitality industry, as the riverside location is the establishment’s only remaining asset.
I do not recommend Rive Bistro. Don’t waste your time and money on this establishment that fails to provide basic courtesy, clear communication, and professionalism standards that are particularly critical in environments where children are present.
This place could have been fantastic. Really could. But let me tell you, worst hostess I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot. She had this French accent, thought she was better than everyone, so rude, so condescending, so clueless. Didn’t know the first thing about customer service. Total disaster.
People come to a restaurant for good food and good service. When you put someone like that at the front, it ruins the entire experience before it even begins. Other reviewers already said the same thing, so it’s not just me. It’s a pattern.
Management should be embarrassed. Big shame. You’ve got a beautiful riverfront restaurant, perhaps even great food, but one incompetent, arrogant hostess destroys the reputation. She has no idea how to solve a problem, no clue how to treat families with respect. Complete amateur hour.
If management doesn’t get rid of her and fast this place will keep going downhill. Believe me. Many better restaurants out there.

Food and atmosphere is phenomenal. The woman at the front (i didn't catch her name) who was seating everyone was the nicest person I've met at a resturant. Unfortunately service was a bit slower on my first visit but I'd be willing to come back for the food and ambiance
