The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. There wasn't a lot of champagne on the menu. There could be a lack of demand for it.

Love this place for brunch. Great menu, fabulous views. friendly staff. A nice way to spend Sunday afternoon no matter what season. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

Great scene, delicious food, something for everyone. Salads for those who want something light, heavier authentic French dishes and pastas for those who want something more comforting. Amazing dirty martinis and Caroline and the other waitstaff couldn't be more attentive!

I always enjoy Rive Bistro, as, no matter what I order, it is always excellent. There are lots of seating options, and the waitstaff is always friendly and helpful. Lunch is great, but dinner is a good experience as well.

I was so disappointed at what use to be my favorite place. We arrived for our reservation and they said they didn't have one for us. The hostess offered to sit us in the tented outside area even though there were many available tables. When we pointed that out we were told they were for people with reservation. We were those people but we decided to just try and enjoy the evening. The outside area was very warm. The butter that came with the bread melted in a pool of liquid fat. So we asked to move and were seated by the windows of this outside tent but since we were so overheated we welcomed the cool draft. i ordered my favorite martini; Titos with a splash of cranberry and fresh lime. I received a concoction with lime juice that create a foam on top. I tried to go with it but then just ordered wine. The meal was delicious but the usual salad I always order was half the size. I get that everything is more expensive but I usually eat that salad as an entree and it was the size of a small salad. All said it was quite disappointing. I hope my favorite restaurant just had an off night. Oh and when we left there were still empty tables in the main area. My husband mentioned that to the hostess who didn't even care to respond, It felt like they didn't care about their customers at all.

I wish I give this restaurant more than 5 stars! They made us fall in love with mushroom soup. Literally, everything they presented was masterfully prepared. Just make the reservation. You won't regret it.

Food allergies were not taken seriously enough and a food with the allergen was served to the table. Fortunately my wife was able to figure it out before I ate any. No apologies when it was pointed out. It was just removed.

We had a great evening at Rive Bistro. Our server was Caroline. She was extremely knowledgable about the menu and cuisine in general. She was very kind and attentive. The food was also delightful!

We go to Rive Bistro on a semi regular basis and the food is always good. Last night's server was particularly good, knowledgeable and personable. This is definitely a restaurant we will keep returning to.

The food and the service were phenomenal. I had the Cassoulet and my wife had the branzino. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Our server was friendly, helpful and courteous. We really enjoyed the evening.

French onion soup and shrimp/avocado salad were both excellent! The service was top notch as always. Sitting by the window overlooking the river was lovely and we especially enjoyed watching the ducks diving for their lunch also!

Going to read Bistro for years since we live close by. The quality of the food has changed to a lesser degree and the portion sizes are ridiculous. The fish is 2“ x 2“ for $35-$40. I sent mine back since it was just not good. The place is not crowded on a Saturday night and something is different here. I do not recognize any of the old staff which was friendly and wonderful. I called to make reservations for Valentine's Day just to continue to show loyalty and hope for improvement. They couldn't take a reservation on the phone and the hostess never called me back.

Went here for dinner with some friends. Loved the atmosphere and the view of the Saugatuck River. The service was courteous but never brought the right utensils for the corresponding plate. For instance, with the cheese fondue we shared, we were not brought any fondue forks and when we asked for them, the forks we were brought were ones used with shellfish. One friend asked for a steak knife and received a very thin (though serrated) knife. The staff also cleared our fondue when our meals came even though we were still working on it. The fondue was great, which was why we wanted more time with it. The salmon was delicious, served with oyster mushrooms, asparagus, artichokes, and capers in a white wine velouté. I'm not usually big on asparagus, but I enjoyed it on this plate. The crème brûlée was delicious and the hint of espresso in the custard was a treat. I would have rated this five stars if not for the clumsy service.
