Vedas Indian Cuisine Westport

Literally my favorite restaurant of all time. The food is top notch, the staff is always friendly. I eat there with my buddy about twice a month and we love it. The owner is a really great guy and the cook is very friendly too. This is one of the best Indian food places around, go try this one in Westport or their other locations too! I recommend the Vegetable Samosa, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Garlic Naan. If you need a kick, try the Garlic Chili Naan, I was breathing fire.

The food was fantastic! Not only that, they were so sweet and gave us extra rice for leftovers. 100% recommend! Some of the best Indian food around!

Our local fish and chip shop was packed, and we were hungry, so we popped round the corner to pick up some Indian food at Taj, since we've ordered from them before. We decided to stay there, rather than order a take out. Oh dear. Back in the day, when this place was called Vedas, it was pretty good. Now that it's under new management (Taj), it seems to be circling the drain. Service was good, and our dishes turned up in a reasonable time, but the food was awful. My wife had Lamb Korma, I had Goat Vindaloo, and we shared a Naan, described as 'Nuts and Raisins". The Lamb was tough as nails, and the Korma sauce was yellowish, and not at all creamy. The Goat was super bony. Yes, I realize that goat normally includes bones, but this was excessively so: it was impossible to remove meat from some of the lumps. The Vindaloo sauce was orange - a clear sign that someone had just dumped in lots of Cayenne, rather than make a real Vindaloo sauce. It was hot. Not much in the way of flavor- just hot. The Naan showed no signs of nuts, or raisins. It seemed to be a plain Naan, with some slightly pinkish contents. My wife complained about the Korma, and they comped her meal, which is why I'm not giving them a one-star rating. Not going back, which is a pity since they are just up the road from where we live.

Foods are really yummy , nice small place to eat. Hospitality are up to mark .

Sadly, this place has slowly declined since Taj took over. In years of dining there, I have never had a single complaint. I ordered tiki masala today and the chicken was rubbery. To expect the food to be perfect every time is unreasonable so I nicely told the waiter about the rubbery chicken. His response was that it's the same tiki masala, as always. I asked him to try and cut through a piece of the chicken and he would see it wasn't edible. We didn't eat any of the chicken. He said that he would prepare another dish, however, would charge for a second one, so we would pay for both. I expressed my disappointment in how they were handling this. They said that they do excellent business, and didn't need me as a customer. I was floored. I gathered my stuff to leave. He then asked me to pay for the chicken that I did not eat. I would never ever go back. It's really too bad.

Location has been beautifully redecorated and is immaculately clean. We had Lamb Korma delivered earlier this week. Outstanding… Will get 3 meals out of the serving. Ran out of Naan so went back today for a pickup. We’ll be back again.

Exceptional place to get food when in a hurry. Their customer service is fast, pricing is convenient, great mood. Will come visit again

This place sure knows how to serve their customers. Always with a nice demeanor. The food is affordably priced, constantly delightful and clean.

Their menu was interesting and their food tasted good.Lamb/Goat Biryani tasted good. The naan was perfect with taste and texture.

Yesterday I order for Chicken Briyani from this restaurant. The Briyani was sooo delicious, I have never ever had such a tasty chicken briyani in my life. I would like to thanks the chief of this resultant for such a wonderful dish. I would recommend this restaurant, if you need a really taste of Indian specie. Thanks to all of you and your staff.

Their collection of food is awesome….good to have these type of resturant in our westport
