Hands down, this was a peak dining experience for the year. Coming from NYC, you have high expectations, but The Cottage in Westport absolutely delivered a stellar meal that made the trip worth every mile.
Our server was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and spot-on with their guidance. We took their advice and ordered the most popular items on the menu, and I can see exactly why they are signatures.
You cannot leave here without trying the Wagyu Brisket Steam Buns. The brisket was incredibly tender, but the real game-changer was the duck fat potato tempura inside—it added this insane textural contrast that I wasn’t expecting. We also did the Lobster Spaghetti, which was executed perfectly; the addition of sea urchin and Calabrian chili gave it a rich, complex depth that balanced the sweetness of the lobster beautifully.
We finished with the Duck Fried Rice, which was savory, comforting, and elevated by the quail eggs on top.
The service was seamless, the vibe was cozy yet sophisticated, and the food was unforgettable. If you are anywhere near Westport, go. Easy 5 stars.

This small, quaint restaurant has such a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. It feels like a hidden gem. The food was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The service truly elevated the experience. Our server, Derek, was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely pleasant, making us feel well cared for without ever being intrusive. From start to finish, everything was amazing. A must-visit spot for brunch in Westport.
Sunday Brunch, party of 4.
Started with pastries- donuts beat croissants. (Blueberry Jelly and Boston Creme).
Lemon Pancakes, Omeletes and Waffles all very tasty.
$22 for a single cocktail seemed a little excessive. One Blood Mary and one Ooopsy Daisy, and a coke for our youngest.
Total bill with tip $198.
Hard to justify returning for such high priced breakfast food.

Truly one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a while. Service and food was exceptional. Lobster Benedict was well prepared. Will definitely be returning for brunch.
Although the food was good, the portions were ridiculously small, as others have detailed in their reviews. Other restaurants on par with this one, quality and price-wise, do not serve portions nearly as skimpy as this!
I can’t recommend. This place is overpriced and snooty. And they serve duck that has been tortured. Avoid!!!
I had the Halibut and my wife had scallops. The scallops were ok but not the best and my Halibut was a bit dry but tasty. The halibut was a rather small portion
My other visits were 5+ years ago (excellent), however when I was prompted by a friend asking about my past experiences, I went to the site to check out the current menu (since they are seasonal farm to table) and found that they were offering a 4-course Thanksgiving menu! $95/person
I’ve looked forward to this meal for 2 weeks (deciding between the turkey or the wagyu) and it did not disappoint!! Not a single morsel was left on any of my plates and I was not rushed while eating! (I hate being rushed to eat)
Roger was my bartender/server and made excellent craft cocktails as well as great food recommendations (I went with the turkey per his suggestion…so tender and flavorful and I’m not exactly a huge turkey fan, but YUM!).
All the staff was tentative and nice, up to and including management!
I already have my reservation for Christmas Eve and can’t wait to see what will be on the menu!!
I can’t afford to treat myself to a night out very often, but this was absolutely worth it and will continue to be my holiday plans while I live in Westport!

Outstanding Thanksgiving dinner. We were in from out of town to visit our daughter and were impressed with the experience. The food quality was top notch, presentation outstanding, the staff pleasant and attentive. I had the traditional turkey (which was moist and included a portion of crispy skin), stuffing, mashed and yam. Delicious and perfectly portioned. My wife and daughter opted for the Wagu beef which they both loved. The four course meal was Michelin star worthy. We will return.
It pains me to write this because I really like this place. I go to both locations and I like the Westport locations vibe and service far better than the Greenwich location. But the food is far more consistent at the Greenwich location.
Today was my third time here and second dinner meal. They always accommodate me and I appreciate. I come for the burger because it's infamous, but the chef at the Westport location absolutely does not know how to cook beef. It's beyond ridiculous.
When it comes to ground beef, it's only well done for me. Steaks? Different story, but a hamburger? Needs to be well done. The first time the burger was burnt, mind you, the Greenwich location has no problems making a burger done without charring it. I figured this was a fluke and I even talked to the owner about it. He apologized, I still ate it and paid for it. I gave it a second chance months later and same thing, a burnt burger. It's ridiculous. But this time I'm not going to pay upwards of $30 for something not good. They remade it to go for me because I had agreed to be done by 6;30 so I waited until I got home. The burger had pink. Pink! On a well done burger. Now either this location has a chef that does not know how to cook beef or he was being passive aggressive over having to make it again. Either way, the photo is the second version of well done. And of course, I couldn't eat that either.
Again, I like this place because of the service but the cost does not justify not getting what I ordered. I'll stick to Greenwich location for now.

Food was great as always! We love coming here! It was very nice seeing Chef Brian Lewis walking around as well! Props to him!
Service was very slow. My pasta was cold so after waiting for a long time for our entrees I needed to send it back. It was a super long dinner. I also find the prices extraordinarily high.
The chef is talented here. Two of us had deviled eggs, bailing buns, chestnut soup, razor clams with pasta and winter squash ravioli followed by a peanut butter hot fudge sundae. We wanted to try a variety of things and ate every bite. The wine bill was $80 and overall, we spent about $240. We were fine with the price for the effort the kitchen obviously put in, but value was definitely lacking because of really small portion sizes. That normally doesn't bother us, but here, it was very small portions in a very tight dining space. Dessert was the only true disappointment because of the sloppy presentation. We drove 2 hours and got a hotel to try this restaurant because of their appearance on the Today Show. If you like really small plates, you will enjoy your meal. I would recommend giving customers bread or an amuse bouche. I left alittle hungry.
The food was fabulous and the restaurant atmosphere is wonderful. We were one of first patrons for an early reservation. Our waitress was immediately upon us for drink orders and then wanted to take our food order. The food came out very quickly and for a three course fine dining experience to last less than an hour is much too fast and the timing should have been more relaxed since they were not that busy. I do not like to feel rushed in any restaurant
such a delight to dine at the cottage! delicious food, drink and exceptional service as always! thanks to all! see you soon!
