I've probably been there over 100 times, mostly 3+ years ago. I started not going often when the grinders became 98% bread. I went on 2/6/25 and was again disappointed. Their sandwiches used to be full of meat and cheese. Now they give you about 4 THIN slices of meat and one slice of cheese. It's an all bread sandwich. There are better options in town. Also, one grinder and one sandwich on a hard roll came to darn near twenty bucks. Wow, twenty bucks for two rolls and seven THIN slices of meat, two cheeses, a slice of tomato, and some mayo. I'm so disappointed. I would not write this review for one or two bad sandwiches. A dozen, gets this bad review.

I have a phobia of a certain type of deli: where the sandwich options are disorganized on unreadable signs, the counterperson wants your answer NOW, but mostly tells you what they don't have. This is the deli of my nightmares. I wanted a grilled cheese sandwich, but was told they didn't have butter. OK, a panini, then. They point me to a chalkboard list of paninis, I say I don't feel like eating meat, but Margherita sounds safe. What I got was a panini, with red peppers and onions, a tiny quantity of dry mozzarella and many slices of some kind of sausage. Well, my dogs enjoyed the sausage, but I won't return. Also, the plethora of tinctures and CBD offerings made me uncomfortable. I prefer not to be marketed snake oil with my food.

Not the way it used to be. The sandwiches used to be full of meat and cheese. Now they give you about 4 slices of meat and one slice of cheese. It's an all bread sandwich. No bag or napkin. You will need to ask them to slice it. Better options available.
"Italy's Best" is one of the greatest sandwiches in CT!
