This is a great breakfast/brunch place. Was in Washington DC for a few days doing the tourist thing and this is one of the only breakfast places in the Marriott we were staying at. Being honest, I didn't have high expectations when I made my reservation. Wow, we're we pleasantly surprised! 1st morning I went with a standard eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast breakfast. Ordered my eggs over easy and they were cooked perfectly! The bacon was crispy, potatoes had great flavor and were also cooked just right. They bring the toast dry, with a tin of butter and 4 different jams/jellies to choose from. Other than having outstanding food, the service was excellent as well. Entire staff was friendly and courteous. My wife and I enjoyed our experience so much, we ate there every morning we stayed at the Marriott. On the following day I ordered corned beef hash and eggs and it was indeed homemade style, not the canned version that reminds you of dog food. Prices were very reasonable and they also offer a breakfast buffet.

There is no happy hour menu here. The chicken burger was good. Good location though.

In an amazing location in DC, but fell short. Cocktails essentially just sugar water. Appetizers fine, nothing to remember though. Vibe nice enough, again nothing to remember.

A Hidden Gem right near the White House. My wife and I had a very wonderful and romantic dinner there last weekend. Our server Allen was incredible. The food and the drinks were great. Both my wife and I had the salmon and it was delicious.
The other reason I highly recommend this place is the history that is steeped into the space. This location has a long history in Washington DC. It was the former site of the Imperial Hotel and Shoemaker's bar. This is where some of the biggest names of stage stayed and drank at from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. This is where Colonel Ricky created the drink named after him. This is where John Wilkes Booth plotted his devious plans. Come here for the wonderful dining, service and history.

I recently visited 1331 Bar & Lounge and found it to be a pleasant experience overall. The atmosphere of the restaurant is decent, providing a relaxed setting which I enjoyed. The prices were reasonable, which is always a plus in the heart of D.C. The service was commendable; staff were attentive and made sure our needs were met promptly. However, there was a slight disappointment with the beverages, particularly my glass of red wine which seemed a bit below expectations in terms of quality. Despite that, I would rate my overall experience with 4 stars. It's a good spot for a casual drink or meal if you're in the area.

Minor correction was required for one breakfast order. The server insisted on helping complete that correction. correction. Breakfast options were available of for a wide range of diet preferences. Why four rather than five stars for ambience? All dining tables have been over varnished resulting in a surface that is sticky to hands and table ware.

Whoever cooked my steak Sunday night is an absolute master of the grill. Steak is never cooked just right when dining out, but it was Sunday night at 1331. It was perfectly seared and cooked to perfection. The creamed artichoke was interesting, I'm glad I got to try it, but I'm not sure I would order it again.

Service was excellent.... Option for buffet or à la carte... I ordered from the buffet both mornings, and loved it... server was very attentive... overall value for food quality was good.... Would definitely go there again.

The woman at the reception of Avenue Grill does not honor reservations. She told us that "if there is a long queue, she will allow people with reservations to get a table". Isn't the whole point of making a reservation that you don't need to rely on someone "allowing" you to get a table? This happened in two days. On the 2nd, I actually needed to have breakfast with a colleague at 8 am sharp but this person refused to honor my reservation and we ended up waiting in line. She claimed sge was "under pressure". Since her behavior was the same every day, it seems more a problem with her than the situation. Pathetic. The serving staff are good, which is why I did not give this place a one star for service. I would not recommend the Avenue Grill unless you have no other claims on your time.

Honestly, for a hotel restaurant, this is easily one of the better ones that I’ve been to.All of their food is really high-quality and made with care. And surprisingly, their prices are reasonable.I highly recommend the pan seared salmon as the salmon is super crispy, while the curry and noodles make an excellent dish. The shredded papaya salad on top gives a nice acidity and crunch to the entire dish and brings it together.I also really enjoyed their apple dessert that has a cookie, apple, mousse, and two or three other variations of apple to go onto the dessert.

Menu was small and disappointing for such a big hotel. Very limited options and food overall wasn't amazing. My salad had partially frozen things in it. Seats were uncomfortable and it seemed dated in there. It was a business meeting and usually hotel restaurants are pretty great. I'll skip it next time I'm there.

Stayed at the JW and came to eat here twice once with our kids then with a group of almost 20. I’ll start with our family dinner we all ordered burgers with fries and 2 pretzel appetizers. Food came fast they brought appetizers with both kids meals. They were great my picky eaters enjoyed it. Our 3 dinners were not. My meal came good except they used wrong cheese and covered it up with the right one but my daughter and husband’s burger came bloody. Sent them back to the kitchen my husband said he didn’t want it so Manager came and comped us 1 meal which was nice but my daughter’s burger was still wrong. After sitting in the lobby my daughter went to the room with a bad stomach ache.Later that night we went with a group and honestly we wouldn’t have came back if it wasn’t so cold and late. Sever for our group was not so good and that’s the nicest way to put it. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table which were all good. Overall most liked their meals but burgers were still coming undercooked. I’m not sure if they were having some issues or not but that’s twice in a day. Desserts were good only with we got utensils when they were served. All the kids liked their meals and no issues with them.Menu is very limited also it’s more dinks than food. Ambiance was good. They are super strict on kids meals they said no to one of the kids in our group because they weren’t under 12. Which blew my mind because I’ve never seen a restaurant have a server tell the guest they can’t order off the kids menu.I could deal with all the mess ups and undercooked food but telling a guest they couldn’t get a kids meal definitely made me say never again.

Got the PB & J and Chai Crème brûlée desserts. We thought the desserts were decent but the service was great.Another bonus was being able to use JW Marriott daily food credit.

Ordered a chicken sandwich tonight (11/8) which took a little longer than expected. I asked one of the bartenders to check on it for me even though she wasn’t the one that originally helped me which I appreciated very much. The original bartender finally came back and asked if I complained about the food which I did not, I was simply asking where it was. I did not appreciate being confronted like that by the original bartender, name started with an F. Not sure of the name. Very confrontational and rude if you ask me.
