“When indecisive, go for the chefs table which includes all of the apps but also an extra tasting per course. Aside from the food which was near perfect, the ambiance is very unique outside dining in a semi enclosed courtyard, railyard bar, and dining in a lodge-like room with fireplace. Some of my favorite dishes were the veggies, surprising because I'm more of a meat eater. Cocktails were excellent but do ask the bartender since not all liquor is documented. Wine list is extensive”
“We love Oyster Mania Mondays at Pearl Dive! We make it a regular date night outing to indulge in dozens of half-priced, delicious, fresh, and cold oysters sourced from various locations. Additionally, I always order the incredibly tasty mussels served with toasted baguette slices to soak up all that delicious sauce. The staff consistently delivers friendly and attentive service too, which makes each visit enjoyable.”
“Bri was suchhh an amazing server!! 11/10 experience. It was my first time at this restaurant and she was so patient walking me through the menu and had great recommendations for my dietary restrictions. Such an amazing experience and great food. Thank you Bri!!”
“Food was great, and service was good. We sat in the dining room this time. Next time will seat in the bar lounge area. Menu prices are reasonable and you bring in bottles not on list for $35 corkage fee.”
“Great ambiance and service in this Michelin star restaurant with food to match. We got the tasting menu to try a bunch of dishes and overall thought the food was still similar to Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern food I’ve had before but with a unique twist on the vegetable dishes. My favorites were the cauliflower hash (reminded me a lot of Gujarati shaak that I ate growing up) and the halloumi + muhmmara dips. Unfortunately, I thought all the cocktails were very mid, so I wouldn’t recommend drinks there unless it’s something you already know.”

“One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in DC - of any type of cuisine. Solid cocktails, very good service, delicious and incredibly inspired menu. Excited to go back.”
“Visited Compass Rose in DC and indulged in their Tour of the World brunch menu. It was an exquisite culinary journey featuring flavors from around the globe. Every dish was simply delicious! The staff were exceptionally welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a delightful dining adventure!"”
“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!”

“Unconventional dinner has amazing food and such a wide variety to choose from. One of my favourite ones is their chicken and waffles. However this is not your regular chicken and waffles. They are corn bread chicken and waffles, with a sweet and spicy sauce. But that’s not all, their salads are amazing also. Great ambiance, and amicable staff.”

“Me and my husband came to the bar for a la carte dining, had an amazing time with a very personalized beverage pairing (s/o to Chris our bartender!) We'll DEFINITELY be back to do the entire tasting menu. Lovely atmosphere, not stuffy, great music, GOOD LIGHTING (hard to come by in DC) and overall stellar food. Come here for your next date night or special occasion dinner, you won't regret it!”

“Really delicious and awesome vibe! This is a creative Asian place where I would say noodles are their forte. The area is really small and cozy, with great decor. They only seat about 20 people at a time in their space, so I would reserve or come early. We came as they opened and were seated as a party of 5.For food, LOVE the brontosaurus! The broth is excellent and rich but too too rich, nicely smoked ribs, excellent selection of side veggies and the noodles had a great texture. The noodles in the mazemans were the same noodles as the brontosaurus, but the mazeman has no broth and so I prefer the brontosaurus. The ribs in the brontosaurus could’ve been more tender but I still loved it overall! Pork buns were good as well. Beautiful presentation and great taste on all! And nice edgy underground atmosphere/decor and reasonable prices.Vegetarian options: Mushroom ramen”

“food was very inventive and good, but it was lacking on actual depth of any type of flavor. The service was quite good though we had to wait five minutes to actually be seated because the there was only one person seating people. The interior is very confusing and crowded and the restaurant decor doesn’t really make sense, the fried chicken was very good and unique so was the scallion pancake however, the pho really didn’t have any flavor and they were using chicken stock for some reason so it didn’t really have much flavor.”
“In a spot where the sushi's divine,Far from Japan, but tastes like its own shrine. The staff, with smiles, swiftly glide,Explaining each dish with knowledgeable pride.A saki selection that brilliantly does shine.Beyond seas, this place holds its fame,With flavors no connoisseur could blame. Here, fish tales are more than mere notions,Served with a flair that stirs deep emotions.A top-tier feast, in every aspect, it came.”
“The food was fantastic! The service was fantasticOverall a fantastic experience. We had a awesome time dining with Rose's the staff was very nice and very accommodating to our dietary restrictions. We also received various items that we off the menu that were excellent. And they gave us a treat to take home. I would definitely recommend Roses, P&P, and Little Pearl. Trust me, they won't let you down.”
“Possibly the best food I’ve ever had in the DMV meets incredible service. They didn’t have the dessert we wanted, so they comped us the one we chose instead. Also, as someone who is sensitive to gluten, dairy, corn, and peanuts, eating out is often extremely tricky and limited, but I was able to choose from maybe 70% of their menu, which is super impressive. Great spot if you have dietary restrictions and want a lot of options.Just a note, you definitely want a reservation. This place is busy for a reason!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-, dairy-, and nut-containing options are clearly labeled. Ask about other restrictions if you have them.”
“We loved this restaurant. The food was fantastic as well as the waitress from El Salvador, who was super kind. Price and overall experience was excellent! We will defórmele be back!”

“The service and staff were 10/10! One member of my party had allergies, so a manager, Shawn, came over to assist. He took the time to explain all the foods she could eat and made plenty of adjustments where necessary (he outlined the menu, as seen in the picture attached). Maria, our waitress, was enthusiastic, attentive, and made great recommendations. It was another member of my party’s birthday, and they decorated the plate specially for her! A great location for a celebration and special meal!Dietary restrictions: Staff was very familiar with the menu and happily walked us through our options.”

“Friendly and knowledgeable staff, in a unique atmosphere. Residents has a chill vibe and a Menu that changes with the seasons. Love the small bites. Highly recommend the baby artichokes on the Summer menu! Visited in Summer and Fall of 2022… Residents never disappoints! Highly recommend.”

“Our dinner was a truly unique experience. The service was exceptional and loved the ambiance. We had a wonderful Chilean rose (wine) which was a nice surprise. I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you for an unforgettable dinner!”

“It was fabulous! I loved how much thought went into the meal and the whole place showed the care and love behind the creations. The food and service were spectacular!”
“Orders are placed via phone or you can order at the counter but the tip defaults to 22%. I’m a generous tipper but am annoyed at this, esp when our server didn’t return with sugar after being asked for it or to check up on us. Otherwise, it’s a very cozy place.”
“Amazing from start to finish! Such an incredible experience...and I mean experience. The food was creative and delicious, the service personal and thoughtful...we just felt good when we left.”

“Marvelous Omakase. Various and delicate selection of the best fish on the market. Every bite was outstanding. Service was friendly and attentive. Not an everyday experience as the price is $USD 190, but definitely worth it once in a while.”
“Easily the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Service was top notch, decor was impeccable, & most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. My friend & I each got 3 different tacos (they're pretty small so it's easy to try multiple). We highly recommend the fish, beef, mushrooms, & cactus options. Also the tres leches cake with strawberries is to die for. And I should also mention that the chips & salsa are the best & most authentic I've ever had. Reasonably priced too, considering the location & how excellent everything is.”
“I thought that for the price, the food and service were very good. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate a walk-in for weekend brunch. The hostess was very polite and the servers were very attentive. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms which were very nice compared to a lot of restaurants in DC. For a restaurant I had not heard of prior to visiting, I was pleasantly surprised!”
“Anju is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the District. Please go check them out with there new spring food menu and cocktails! We sat at the bar and had an amazing experience. The shrimp dumplings, chicken soup, and of course bibimbap were as sooo good! Thanks to the whole team for their delivery and hospitality x1000.”
“I went to Imperfecto for a work event and was very impressed with the beautiful decor and ambiance. The service was incredible, and the food followed suit. The truffle pasta was a highlight. I also had the eclair for dessert which was also delicious!”
“First I would like to say that I wish there were more than 5 stars. My son and I are visiting the DC area for the Cherry Blossom festivities. My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! My son said the food was the closest to the food in India that he has had here in the states. For my first time... OMG!!! I am HOOKED! The only bad part is that I have to go back to Florida and wait impatiently for my next visit.”
“5 out of 5 stars, this three story restaurant is interestingly unnoticeable but I’m glad I was invited here to experience it. It sits next to an open air lot which is definitely needed on H St. The food was amazing, I had the sea bass, plantains, salad, and cassava fries (can’t remember what they were called) and everything was so good. The staff was efficient and friendly and the chef came out to speak with us and it amazing to see that he’s native DC and young he is. I definitely recommend this place for dinner. I wish I paused to take pictures but maybe next time.”

“Sami's hot dogs is a must when visiting DC. Hot dog had onions, jalapenos, chili, ketchup and mustard. We got the spicy sausage which gave it an extra kick. Also it's located in a convenient location across from a little park with lots of sitting, and they do take card for payment. Sami was also super friendly. Will come here again when visiting DC”

“I come here during the late night & enjoy socializing while waiting. Sometimes the food is a little dry, but overall it's good. A really cool spot to visit after a late night out.”
“Go around to the back entrance of the hotel. Signs will point you. Take a left BEFORE you get to the next building. Looks like a small parking lot. Security will check bags. No strollers allowed or large bookbags. May be left downstairs with the security guards. Arrive early to avoid line. You can skip all the info on the walls and read them on your way out.”
“The Madison in DC was a Very Cool hotel at a great price! Everyone loves Abdul. He was on point. He gave us quick, fast service. He was very friendly! I would definitely come back again. Happy hour starts at 4:00. The wings are on point. The beer is good as well.”
“I had a HB Pizza for halftime of the-Alabama Game and it was delicious. I think that HBPizza is my goto pizza from now on. The best thing is that they are everywhere and the Quality and quantity is the same no matter Which of the 8000 locations that you go to.”
“Sometimes I feel like I must preface my commentaries with a disclaimer that I believe many foodies are inspired to carve out negative reviews when they are dissatisfied with the food, ambience or service in a fit of retribution, and those who have been satisfied by the experience, don't expend the energy writing anything, thus making a big chunk of reviews adversely slanted! I consistently try to be even-handed, and do not hold back the negative, but also try to underscore the positive - always my 'opinion' and those with me at the time and with the understanding that one good or bad review does not reflect a restaurant's overall potential, actual character or track record. That said - kudos to Raphael Ehilen, owner/operator of one of the best Denny's in the Washington Capitol Region! Firstly, the wait staff (at least on the day of my visit) and on-duty manager are nice, polite and service oriented and professional - very, very professional! I have not been to this good a Denny's in years... anywhere. I recently stopped in while doing business nearby and had the Grand Slamwich: scrambled eggs, sausage, crispy bacon, shaved ham, mayo, American Cheese on potato bread that's grilled with maple spice spread and served with hash browns - tastes like a monster Monte Cristo - WOW! The serving was 'picture perfect' as you can see from my pic! The place was immaculate, clean, well appointed and worthy of being the East of the River's first and best sit-down restaurant. Secondly, I'm happy for the community, and for Raphael whom I was part of a community development team over 10 years ago that helped him get started against all odds that this type of restaurant would work here... naysayers were proved wrong. If you truly want to have the best Denny's has to offer in the region, this location is bar none the one for you. Bon appétit!”
“We visited on 3/28/23, about 6 pm, and were pleasantly surprised at the great customer service! Two employees were there, and they were both efficient and friendly. Not much in the way of parking, so we parked across the street (at McDonald's) and that worked out just fine.”
“At the time of day that I was at Mickey D's there was kids everywhere and they were extremely loud, needless to say that I got up and left. Overall the store was clean. The floors were decent. Plenty of tables available and they also were clean.”
“On Sunday, March 24, 2024, my family visit to McDonald's was a memorable one due to the exceptional service we received from the cashier. From the moment we approached the counter, she greeted us with a warm smile and kind demeanor. She patiently took each of my children's orders, engaging with them in a way that made them feel empowered and included in the decision-making process.I was particularly impressed by how attentive she was to each of my kids' preferences and dietary restrictions, ensuring that their meals were prepared exactly as they wanted. She even took the time to explain different menu options to my youngest ones, making sure they understood and felt comfortable with their choices.Throughout the entire interaction, the cashier maintained a positive attitude and showed genuine care for our family's experience. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and valued as customers. Her friendly and helpful demeanor truly made our visit to McDonald's a pleasurable one.I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the outstanding service provided by this cashier. Her kindness and dedication to her job truly made a difference in our dining experience. I look forward to returning to this McDonald's location in the future and hope to have the opportunity to thank her again in person for her exceptional service. She is a true asset to the McDonald's team.”
“I used to eat here a lot late at night, if I wouldn't get sleep or felt no sleep early in the morning while homeless. I was homeless at the time, thank God I have a lovely home in Uganda-my home country. No one at all gave me a hard time while eating here(odd orders), my meals were always in order and very accurate. I have almost zero complaits except that the hospital always failed to keep the bathrooms well stocked with essentials like toilet seat paper covers and paper towels. However I do not put the blame on the restaurant but rather goes to the hospital that I think maintains the bathrooms. Be aware that they do not serve sodas but have all the charged juices from what I remember which a great thing avoiding unhealthy soft sodas. I used eat here in the month of August this year of 2022 while I was in Washington DC area while relocating to Uganda after attaining wisdom from US. Thank you staff working at this location, for taking care of us-you are all amazing and I love u guys because u always gave me what I always wanted/needed which I rarely got from other restaurants or Panera locations. All in all, please eat here whenever u can always, they server pretty hot meals, fresh and very accurate.”
“My first WaWa experience! I bought the burger bowl from the eatery section—-the food was fresh and very tasty—without the bun! The self checkout kiosk worked perfectly, and my digital WAWA card on my phone! Overall, it was an enjoyable experience—-Good customer service & a clean store! I just purchased their Blueberry coffee, and it too, is absolutely amazing!”
“It was Good! The Food was fresh and the fries were hot. I love McDonald's fries when they are hot. The fish was amazing g the Bun was so fresh and soft. I finally got the meal thar I always hoped for.”
“This is a nice McDonald’s. Located in a busy intersection near the sites. Is directly across the street from the national Museum of women in the arts. It’s also not very far from the mint. Food is good as you would expect. The ground level is small, but the upstairs is very big and has great views from the windows.Parking: This is a very busy street. Don’t plan on parking. Just walk.Kid-friendliness: Kids love this restaurant and then downstairs is perfect for themWheelchair accessibility: The downstairs where you water has a few tables that are handicap accessible. The upstairs where the majority of the seats are is not accessible.”
“I get my food here all the time for lunch one of their busiest times, and they’ve never failed me! Hogies are always delish and their drinks, 10x better than starbucks. If they make a mistake they are always more than willing to fix it, and today was the first one since months that i’ve been coming here for lunch. they get the job done and it’s always yummy.”

Takeout Restaurants
“I had Ethiopian cuisine on my bucket list for real long time, but since I couldn't find much time to visit any Ethiopian restaurant in New York city, I decided to go ahead with the one in Washington DC!Initially, I was a bit hesitant to order the meat dishes since my last adventure with African cuisine wasn't a great one. Glad that Ethiopians have a good amount of vegetables in their diet which helped me make a safe and easy choice to go with!I went ahead with their traditional veggie platter, which consisted of 2 vegetables, 2 lentil dishes and a salad served over Injera( basically the Ethiopian version of dosa: An Indian dish and a much softer one instead of crispy). The vegetables served were cluster beans along with cabbage and potato. The cluster beans felt right out of my home kitchen whereas the potato was undercooked in the cabbage one! The two lentil dishes served out of which one was the spicy one and the other not spicy. I loved both of them. Honestly, I never thought it would be so close to traditional Indian cuisine as a result I also let the server know the same. The server was pretty friendly and was happy to guide me through their menu while providing quick service. The restaurant though feels like a homely vibe with close seating and the ambiance being that of a family home.Overall, an amazing experience for me with interesting thing being it felt like having a home cooked meal rather than eating at a restaurant!”
“Everything at Menya is completely mind-blowing and it's the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. It's a little hard to visit here especially with their hours but every time I can make the trip over to DC I always make an effort to come here. Their food stays consistent and service is incredible. It's amazing to watch how in synch the entire team is and they have an open kitchen where you can watch the staff make the endless bowls of ramen! The karaage is a MUST-TRY it's so incredibly crispy on the outside but perfectly juicy on the inside. It's also paired with a yuzu dipping sauce and it brings the chicken to a whole other level, 10/10. My favorite ramen is the Spicy Tonkotsu because it includes a house made chili spice that really brings a nice kick to their traditional Tonkotsu broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu because each type of ramen is so incredible in its depth of flavor.”
“Wonderful place, best falafel ever. I hope they read this because I would suggest they describe the bread it is on in more detail. They apologized for not having traditional pita bread for it. Instead the should say they have put a new spin on it using their own homemade ??? bread. I don't know what type it is, but it was absolutely delicious!”
“Probably one of my favorite restaurants in DC right now. Food was amazing-- definitely get the octopus and gambas. The red sangria was also really good. Ambiance was very classic Spanish-- perfect to come for date night, with friends, or with family. Service was great and very accommodating.”
“The food was good, but definitely not worth $57 a person on a Thursday night….We ordered four dishes (fermented cabbage toast, arancini, thai fried chicken, and scallop crudo) and had a drink each. Portions were small, even the “entrees.” Will not go back anytime soon for dinner. Our waiter was very nice though.*Came back over a year later for dinner because of an InKind Coupon. The $50 off $50 made the meal more worth it. But still expensive for what youre getting.”
“We were bowled over by this place. We got there at 4.45pm as a walk in and were sat straight at the bar. Get there early if you want a seat! The food was absolutely outstanding, but Andrew the lovely bar waiter was the highlight of the night for us. He was so warm. informative and professional. Very much recommended.”
“What an incredible collection of brown- 65+ pages of incredible whiskeys, bourbons and more. Multiple bottles of pappy if you're into that. I had a blast selecting (at random, but nothing disappointed!) and my friend got the flight to help guide him, which he loved.Food was fine, acceptable, but for the cool environment I would have figured higher grade in the cuisine. Admittedly the snacks/small plates were far higher quality than the main dishes so maybe the intention was to drink and small plate.Service was good, they made sure we had what we needed but I would have loved a bit more enthusiasm for such an amazing collection.Overall great experience and would go again!”
“Amazing staff, fast and very tentative. Great to be able to relax, enjoy your company, have delicious drinks, and eat as if your Auntie made it. We will be back!!!”
“My wife and I went here for a first date anniversary recently, and it was fantastic! We've been to several Michelin star restaurants around the world, and this was one of the best. The food was just amazing course after another amazing course. The level of innovation and flavor was just off the charts. The service was also impeccable, with super friendly chefs and staff. The interactive experience is something truly memorable. Special shout-out to Sean, who was super helpful to me when I was trying to figure out which cocktails to order!”
“Absolutely memorable and enjoyable dining experience. Wonderful and attentive service. Beyond imaginable flavor profile. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Made the birthday celebration extra special with their own added touches. Truly incredible! Come here - you won’t regret it.”
“Nice cozy place with delicious fold. I had the chicken heart appetizer and the Northern Noodles as main course. My wife had the Crispy Chicken. The noodles were probably the most flavorful curry Ive had in a long time, I just wish there was a tiny bit more noodles and protein, but it was great either way. Service was friendly and fast. 5 ⭐️s”
“Buzzy place, quite busy for Sunday brunch. The cronut was fresh and delicious. The gravlax mezze plate was unusual which is why I ordered it. The food was good. But the music blasting spoiled the experience for me - and I was solo so wasn't trying to chat, which would have been impossible to hear anything!”
“St Vincent is consistently a slice of heaven here on earth and my favorite “good in the hood”. The service, ambiance, bites and vino are unmatched. And now that there is live music in the garden, it is in a league of its own. The pop up with the Eritrean chef a few weeks ago was a pleasant little twist and I look forward to more of these curated experiences. This is my go to happy place—-home away from home and I cannot recommend it enough!!! Great date place or just gathering spot with your friends.”
“Amazing food, drinks and atmosphere! Our server, aptly named Angel, was terrific and made excellent suggestions. We highly recommend the ceviche sampler, lamb, steak, and Peruvian cookies. Great vibe with memorable drinks (pisco sours 4 the win). Definitely returning.”
“Our dinner was a truly unique experience. The service was exceptional and loved the ambiance. We had a wonderful Chilean rose (wine) which was a nice surprise. I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you for an unforgettable dinner!”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“Bottom line up front, Cranes is a MUST for DC’s Winter Restaurant Week! From the hostess's accommodation of our late arrival, friendly greeting, and front door coat check to our waiter’s, Elmer, and wait staff’s attentive service throughout our visit, Cranes was superb! The Faux-jito, Squash Hummus, Ramen, and Iberico Pork Fried Rice were fantastic! When there was a problem with our bill, it was quickly resolved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!!!”
“Incredible, fresh ingredients on the lightest, puffiest dough you’ve ever had. Charming atmosphere, super friendly and attentive waitstaff and the owners are on-site and working hard. This is a family-owned restaurant and they are a delight! Authentic Roman pinsa! Highly highly recommend!”
“Food is absolutely delicious and the staff at Himalayan Doko are the kindest! We ate family style and all the dishes were so full of flavor. The Tandoori Chicken Wings and the Lamb Rogan Josh were my favorites, but you can't go wrong with any dish - everything I tried was delicious.I am also so, so appreciative of how they were able to accommodate our reservation of a large party (20+ people). We had a great time and our time here was very memorable. One of my favorite restaurants in D.C., I will be back!”
“I love to swing by SeoulSpice when I want something quick by my office. The Korean style bowls are delicious, filling and the staff are always pleasant. Highly reccomend if you're in the NOMA neighborhood.”
“I love the pizza here . It does have a New York vibe.. not really a dine in type of place unless you like eating standing up. But for the slice the price is amazing... 1 slice is about a small pizza. They also have wings and fries...Parking: You're also going to have to walk up to the place or find parking elsewhere. This place provides no parking lot . Why I rated the atmosphere 3 stars”
“*CHEF'S KISS* Cozy and utilitarian ambiance, with a cute tiny bar, very friendly and attentive service. But THE FOOD though! I just stopped in because it was near my barber and I knew that I could satisfy my "2 meal hunger" for relatively cheap. Frankly and honestly, this was the best Honduran food I've ever tasted. I don't say that lightly, I have eaten A LOT of good Salvadoran and Honduran food since I moved to the area in 2007. I've even had homemade pupusas from mothers of my students on a regular basis. I'm normally not a fan of refried beans on my Tostadas or in fajitas, but they used just the right amount, & they were damn good. For once I feel they actually contributed to the taste of the Baleada and Catracha instead of taking away. The food was so good I have finally dedicated the names of these dishes to memory. in the past they never made a big impact flavor- wise, just kind of good, simple Central American home cooking classics. Everything here was absolutely cooked to perfection and the chef knows exactly what balance of ingredients and fillings are exceptionally delicious in texture and complimentary flavors . STANDOUTS: The Catracha & the Baleada: Baleada -- roughly translated - a Honduran (person). Here the tostada is a double fried corn tortilla with refried beans, and crumbled farmers cheese. I have never had a fried corn tostada so decadently crispy-fried. I literally said " oh my gawd" when I took my first bite. The Baleada was soft and pillowy on the inside and was just the right amount of pan-crisp on the outside. The avocado, beans, cheese, egg, and crema just complemented one another, nothing overwhelmed anything else in flavor or texture. Perfect balance.”
“As a single mother I was having a troubled cold morning with a sick toddler. From the moment I walked in; although busy with inventory CeCe acknowledged me and had me wait on another associate from the back. With urgency Tay arrives and had the best attitude! Offered menu items and very patient. The most important thing is he made my sick daughter smile. He made her feel welcomed. And even gave mom her props as well. Destiny made the best drinks for me and baby girl and smiled the entire time with great conversation. She was the first to greet us walking in. This type of service is important. Especially here based in DC. Gives the neighborhood a different vibe. I’ll see you every Sunday! I pray it’s the same shift! GANG ??”
“One of my fav Panera because it has good location. The strawberry charged lemonade is amazing. The space is a little bit smaller than expected but I was just picking up and go so it was fine. The employees were all very nice and respectful.”
“We always eat here when we’re in town. The food was great, as always! However, the service was subpar to say the least. Not sure of the exact reason, but the service last night was significantly worse than our previous experiences, and definitely not what you’d expect when spending $150+ on dinner.”
“Walking by on a warm summer's night and decided to try this, rather than ice cream, which also is available near by. VERY glad I tried the smoothy instead. At the employee's suggestion, I tried one with strawberry, pineapple and other flavors. It was delicious. Not sure about the calories but I was walking a lot that night so hopefully I burned off at least some of them. Anyway, I strongly recommend this for a snack or dessert.”
“The best jumbo slice in DC actually cooked through; halal everything. The kabobs... to die for! The service is spectacular. Ambiance is unimportant because this place is all about efficiency and they move quickly. 10/10 recommend don't get uncooked pizza because it's 1am just come here and get a properly cooked jumbo slice”
“It was fabulous! I loved how much thought went into the meal and the whole place showed the care and love behind the creations. The food and service were spectacular!”
“2nd time here. Awesome meal. Great service. Pedro took wonderful care of us. Chicken Picatta is my go to fabulous - Wife had the Alfredo and raved about it. Everything is delicious.”
Fine Dining
“Amazing service, food, presentation, libations, decor, comfort, on and on. From 1st picture my welcome cocktail all the way to final cocktail and wine in between 2nd picture to 1st course caviar bigger purse with no silverware 3rd picture to 2nd to last course truffle ice cream with all the toppings, including caviar My words don’t do this dining event Justice. Oh, and when I got back to the hotel, I found an incredible burger in a box that I carried back to the hotel without opening. That was breakfast! Will be back.”
“The food and service here are truly exceptional, but I would say this is a special occasion restaurant where you'd be better serviced with better portions at less expensive prices:Pros:Exceptional ServiceFresh and expertly prepared dishesCons:Sushi: although unbelievably fresh, the portions are just not worth the price. Nigiri sizes are incredibly, incredibly small for what you pay.Atmosphere: clubby vibe with very loud music can make it difficult to hear your dining partnersFor me, the price isn't worth the experience. I needed a cheeseburger after spending $200 per person.”
“Eubin took excellent care of my husband and I on our visit to barmini. It was our first visit (of many more to come) and every single cocktail was mind blowing. I had originally booked a flight, only to have to change it to a la carte in order to make dinner reservations. I wish we had cancelled dinner and stayed at barmini! I cannot find enough positive words to describe this experience. Worth every single cent and more. A must visit! We will be back! (And sit at the bar. The show of every cocktail being prepared truly adds to the experience!) the cake for my birthday was a spectacular gesture as well!”
“Amazing! The sushi tasting menu was exceptional and filling! Delicious and whimsical cocktails. Bar in the back, very hip and chic workout being pretentious. Wagyu beef skewers from the bar was one of the best things I’ve ever had. All the skewers were amazing and the fried chicken and other bar snacks are classic bar foods, but way elevated- can not wait for the rest of the space to open!”
“One of the best dining experiences in DC. Chef Jeremiah is outstanding; the meal is creative but accessible, and each course is better than the previous. We are so grateful to have Dabney in DC!”
“I got the Buttermilk Fried Amish chicken for take out, and it did not disappoint!! It looked just as it does in pictures, and tasted amazing. I would definitely have it again!”
“My goodness...I am pretty sure Kappo DC is the closest thing to heaven on earth. Upon arriving, you are greeted with a conspicuous entrance, light brown wooden door, and a gold plaque with "Kappo Makoto" carved into it. It gave off a very exclusive and high end vibe. Once our dinner reservation time arrived, the door finally opened with a host greeting and welcoming us in. Walking by an amazing display of various bottles of sake and a large mirror for us to snap a picture together, we entered the main dining area. To start, the chefs introduced themselves and gave us a little history on the restaurant's creation and overall vision. We ordered our drinks and we were given the option for the uni & caviar add-on. Since it was my birthday, you can bet your ass we got it! To start, we were presented with the wagyu summer salad. Every ingredient paired perfectly together with a dash of acidity from the light dressing. The uni was absolute butter. The wagyu was melt in your mouth goodness. The greens provided the perfect balance to the rich, complex flavors from the uni and Wagyu together. I knew we were in for an amazing night. Next up was the Chawanmushi, a savory egg custard with wagyu. It was delicate and velvety, yet bursting with umami. Of course, with our caviar topping, this dish was the perfect amuse-bouche. The sashimi trio that followed did not disappoint. The first was light, refreshing, and well balanced. The colors of this dish popped, with bursts of green, pink and orange. The fish (I believe it was hamachi) was super fresh and perfectly marinated. The next one was more meat centric and being paired with the uni, it balanced out the sharper taste of the tuna. The final of the trio was a scallop sashimi, with thin cucumber slices and red onions in an acidic drizzle. Like the first one, it was refreshing and bright. Annnd let's not forget, the caviar/uni pairings which perfectly meshed with each dish. Next up we starting getting back into the wagyu with the Wagyu Menchi Katsu. This one was fun to eat, not anything super impressive, but overall had rich flavor and sat atop a small pool of sauce and a shishito pepper. Overall, a nice change of pace from the fish heavy dishes from before. Onto the Wagyu Chirashi Sushi, this was by far one of my favorite dishes on the menu. The presentation was gorgeous, with a small ball of white rice topped with orange salmon roe, red tobiko, bright yellow quail egg, vibrant green chives, a little yellow flower and a gold flake on top. Let's not forget the radiant uni and caviar to top it all off, this dish was bursting with color. The flavor was overwhelmingly good. My friend, wife and I couldn't stop ourselves making awkward "mmmm's" and "oooh's" out loud lol. It was served in the perfect portion, as any more would have been too overwhelming, but any less would leave much to desire. The Wagyu sukiyaki was a good transition from the rich and savory flavors of the Chirashi. It was solely Wagyu beef with glass noodles and some greens on top, sitting in a puddle of delicious sauce. Sweet yet savory. At this point I was getting very full. Finally the Curry Udon arrived. It was good, but honestly it was definitely well past the climax of the courses. I found this to be a grounding dish, bringing us back down to earth after being sent into space. It was comforting and warm. I wouldn't say it was amazing, it was just nice. A reminder that overindulgence can be detrimental to your overall enjoyment. They did provide me with a scoop of some yummy ice cream since it was my birthday, but also we were sent home with some Royce chocolate. Among the dishes, they had really great cocktails and we also got a bottle of "Seven Spearsmen" sake, which paired really well with the rich and fatty flavors we consumed. Service was phenomenal and I think the chef's enjoyed us at the counter because of how expressive we were and amazed by each dish that was put forth. They spent a lot of time chatting with us while preparing t”
“Dear Diary - What an amazing place! The food menu, extremely helpful members, and drinks were absolutely wonderful in making the experience great. Since I have a few food allergies, they were able to accommodate and make substitutions. I definitely recommend going here. I can't wait until their menu rotates to go again!”
“Had dinner on a Saturday night - party of 4. A plus service and food. The service was very attentive and knowledgeable. Very helpful in wine selections within certain price points (and the recommendations were fantastic). But the FOOD!!! there was a special lobster appetizer that was phenomenal. For the regular menu the little gem salad was large and refreshing. I had the root vegetable soup and it was also great. For mains we had the tuna, pasta and steak. There wasn't a bad choice in the bunch. Highly recommend this for an elegant night out. All in we were at 150 per person (and that was with plenty of wine). The price was a bargain for the experience. GO!!!”
“Excellent. Go ahead and ask the bar manager about the incredibly curated bar and wine selection - much of it local. Excellent bites, esp the ceviche. Make this place your local ?Kid-friendliness: Have supported neighborhood schools including Ludlow. Explicitly welcoming parents and kiddos to come right after school.”
“Had a wonderful time at the 25th anniversary celebration. The food ; wine; and drinks were spectacular. The service was overwhelming! My wife and I love this special place. Everyone needs to experience the greatest restaurant in town! You be pleased you went.”
“Loved the ambiance. Very interesting decor. Wish I had sat near the fireplace. Service was awesome and attentive Food made us all happy but you have to get the bouillabaisse and the duck fat old fashioned were my favorites. Great presentation”
“The best vegan dining experience I’ve ever had, and “I’ve been around the block”. From the time I walked in the door and was greeted by the hostess, from the server, the sommelier, the food, ambiance- everything was perfect. The food was unique, and delicious. (even my non vegan friend loved it) however, the presentation and service is what put the cherry on top. Just a one of a kind dining experience that will be very hard to top.”
“A wonderful and historic place to visit. The food was excellent as well as the service. It can get a little loud with all the people and drinks but nothing over the top.”
Cheap Eats
“This place is amazing! Definitely a must-visit in DC and one of my favorite bakeries. The donuts were incredible, the cheesecakes were delicious, and their lattes are to die for. Highly recommended! PS: expect a line!”
“Amazing food from start to finish, amazing portions, great tea, and Coffee. We read the reviews as we where looking for a place to eat breakfast. The owner is amazing, the food is phenomenal, my family and I all agreed. My kids never agree on food, we were all in a food coma.”
“Ordered an impossible burger and veggie chili. The impossible burger was a expected... good. The chili was really good though. It was sweet and slightly spicy. Also had some veggie meat on it as well.Service was meh and the vibe was old school diner.”
“I came for dinner with a big group of friends and we had such a lovely evening. The food and service were both stellar, and they were very accommodating of the size of our party.”
“Sidamo Coffee and Tea in West Hollywood is a true gem! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Their selection of beverages is extensive and always delicious, and they also offer tasty pastries to accompany your drink. It's become my go-to place for a relaxing and enjoyable break in the city. Highly recommended!Parking: It depends at what time you visit this place.”
“If I could give this place 100/5 I would. Went for a drink, stayed for 3 hours. Luke is the best bartender both in the drinks he makes but also helping find the right cocktail for your mood. Even gave us a few small samples of the drinks on tap to try beforehand.GET THE RHUBARB SODA it might change your life. Most of the people at the bar with us were locals and regulars. Very cute decor as well.Small spot so limited seating. If you want to go for dinner recommend getting a reservation ahead of time.If I lived here I’d have my name engraved on a stool.”
“Great neighborhood coffee shop!! I came for breakfast and had the oatmeal (delicious!!) and the banana walnut bread. Also loved their seasonal drinks. Service was a bit slow, but worth it!”
“I ordered the honey butter chicken sandwich at Wisconsin road at DC I believe number two on the menu it was so tasty and delicious and the service also very excellent!! Definitely I’m gonna go back with my family.”
“Shout out to Jordan G. He took my large order. A side & kids meal got omitted. Went back the next day. It was SUPER BUSY but he was very courteous and quickly made the items. For some reason their mac & cheese has never been on point. Most other dishes are very good. Staff are friendly. Go when it's not busy.”
“The pink exterior of this building is unmissable; it seems to have become a must-visit brunch spot for those living in Georgetown. While we may have forgotten what we ordered, one thing not to be missed is their "spicy honey" - it elevates the taste of the bagel to a whole new level. Seating is limited, so it's first come, first served!”
“What a great place! Recommended by the bell hop, unassuming but crisp decor and service …and an amazing plate of breakfast! If in the area, highly recommended.”
“Andy's Pizza is great, no matter the location. I've visited the Andy's Pizza NoMa location a lot over the years, including for events (shout out to their Cinco de Mayo event!), takeout, and just grabbing a slice and beer at the bar. This location is a little awkward because it's tucked in the back of the Streets Market when it really deserves its own space. But, they have awesome pizza, an awesome beer menu, and a pretty good space with some outdoor seating, mezzanine seating, general seating, and bar seating. I highly recommend everything at Andy's, particularly the french fries and of course the pizzas. These are the best NY-style pizzas in the DMV. Particular favorites are the Diavolo, Sausage & Pepper, and classic pepperoni. Most recently, I got the Sausage & Pepper for take out and it was excellent.”
“It makes sense why these $5 cookies are so popular. First look, they didn’t look like it’ll meet the hype, however, when I took my first bite; it was warm and gooey. Amazing! Had to go back and pick up a dozen!”
“I recently planned a wedding reception at Dauphine's and it was incredible. The food, atmosphere and service was impeccable. The bride and groom were well taken care of, Courtney and Natalie were so easy to work with, communicative and really worked to listen to the couple's needs. It was such a fun, unique and beautiful space for a reception and provided numerous spaces to meet guest needs. The food was delicious and the staff were always on top of everything. I cannot recommend Dauphine's enough and cannot wait to go back for a delicious meal or an event!”
“Visited this place in DC last weekend with family and it's the best! The pre-dinner bar experience was delightful with excellent martinis. The waiter made it special by asking about our celebration. With a party of seven, we tried different entree's and everyone was impressed with the quality and portions size. The waiter was helpful with menu suggestions. We felt right at home 10/10, definitely coming back !”
“Very cute and innovative Japanese-Italian fusion spot! I had the Vongole Ramen, which was very tasty, although also extremely rich so perhaps difficult to finish towards the end.The onigiri was also interesting, although many of them were a bit lacking in filling.”
“Orders are placed via phone or you can order at the counter but the tip defaults to 22%. I’m a generous tipper but am annoyed at this, esp when our server didn’t return with sugar after being asked for it or to check up on us. Otherwise, it’s a very cozy place.”
“Absolutely memorable and enjoyable dining experience. Wonderful and attentive service. Beyond imaginable flavor profile. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Made the birthday celebration extra special with their own added touches. Truly incredible! Come here - you won’t regret it.”
“We love everything about the Le Diplomate experience. The food is so amazing, I can make a meal of the bread. Favs include the Nicoise salad, trout, and pastry basket.”
“I have not only travelled to Thailand, but studied Thai cuisine and also attended cooking classes. This place is the REAL DEAL!!!! Not your run of the mill pad thai place. More northern cuisine if you are familiar with it, think Chang Mai. Everything is out of this world, great bar and drinks, friendly and warm staff that attends to your every need.”
“I’d recommend this place just based on the food itself. I had calamari and a regular lobster roll with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! But the staff is what made Georgetown Seafood special. Right when we walked in (out of a huge rainstorm), a staff member put a towel by the door for us to place our umbrellas on while another staff member immediately found us a table to seat our big group. They took the time to make us feel like VIPs, even down to the extra treats they offered to us after our meal! The place is small, has steep/narrow stairs to the upper level (where the bathroom is located), but even with that I would 100% eat here again and again. Thanks Georgetown Seafood for a wonderful experience!!”
“Overall - 8/10. The service was very friendly. At first but was slow to get our drinks, but once our order was in everything came fast. I love the small hole-in-a-wall feel. My son described the service as "uncomfortably nice" as an indication of how friendly everyone was. We ordered the Heavenly Pork and the Crab Basil fried rice. My rice was really good and had a generous portion of lump crabmeat. My son's Heavenly pork was really good according to him. He was just getting over a stomach issue so he couldn't order it spicy as he would like. The mild wasn't spicy at all. We also ordered Thai teas which I would say were the weakest part of the meal and they were still good. It's neck and neck with Kook Kai's Noodle House in Silver Spring.”
“One of my favorite restaurants! They have incredible options for gluten and dairy-free diners. Veggies instead of bread for dips, homemade almond yogurt to replace any yogurt in entrees. We had the mini tasting menu and there were very few adjustments needed. Absolutely delicious, especially the squash side, the lamb chops, the chicken in yogurt-based sauce, the rice with carrots and raisins, and tasty cocktails. Warm, cozy ambiance with a frequent sitar player.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten feee options and many dairy-containing options can be made dairy-free using their homemade almond yogurt.”
“had a wonderful experience for breakfast!! oraldo was a very accommodating server. food was excellent + the staff was incredibly helpful!! if you are in the area definitely go check this place out!”
“Truly fantastic food and a first rate professional staff. Always a pleasure to dine at La Bise. Amazing service, very interesting and upscale interior, and a great meal, what else could you ask for?”
“Lamb chops steak is delicious! The fried potatoes were delicious! Brusselsprouts with fruit jam sweet and appetizing! His family's Pitabread can continue indefinitely”
“Marvelous Omakase. Various and delicate selection of the best fish on the market. Every bite was outstanding. Service was friendly and attentive. Not an everyday experience as the price is $USD 190, but definitely worth it once in a while.”
“I went to Imperfecto for a work event and was very impressed with the beautiful decor and ambiance. The service was incredible, and the food followed suit. The truffle pasta was a highlight. I also had the eclair for dessert which was also delicious!”
“Amazing from start to finish! Such an incredible experience...and I mean experience. The food was creative and delicious, the service personal and thoughtful...we just felt good when we left.”
“Visited the café today! Loved the delectable and creative menu, the warm service, and the beautiful, cozy interior. We enjoyed the inasal, tocino, and ube latte (complete with delicate latte art) courtesy of Sun and Stars Coffee. Our kid was thrilled she could enjoy an ube steamer, too-- and didn't want to stir her drink because she found the art (Hiraya's logo in this instance) so beautiful. If you want reimagined, creative, and elevated Filipino cuisine where the flavors simultaneously bring back sensory memories of the comfort food of your childhood, this is the place for you. Can't wait to return!”
“In a spot where space seems quite debated,And for tables, folks patiently waited,Though the meat was overdone,The service was second to none,And their quick, friendly charm, we celebrated.Though the crowd seemed to give them a test,The wait staff showed they were the best. With meals served with speed,Fulfilling every need,In the end, their efforts impressed.”
“This review was a long time coming. I was dying to try out Agora DC after my friend treated me to the Tyson's location for my birthday. Agora Tyson's was some of the best food that I've had in a while, so expectations were high for their DC location. I'm pleased to report, the food quality is identical! That means, A+ all the way around. Please try the chicken, giant prawns, jumbo scallops, octopus and lamb chops.. You'll thank me later!! Both locations have their own charm, but I'm leaning towards the DC version just a hair more because of the the indoor/outdoor seating option. Although I visited when it was cold out, the patio was still booming with the mega heat lamps. It was warm enough to sweat a little...LOL! I've been hooked on Tapas style restaurants since trying out Jaleo many moons ago. Service was great and I've put Agora on my top 5 DC restaurants list.. period!!!”
“Absolutely loved this place! The authentic decor and wonderful staff made it so memorable. The food we had were beyond amazing. Highly recommend the laghman noodles, the goshnan & midye baklava. The lamb was cooked very well here.”
“THANK YOU CHRIS FOR TREATING ME LIKE FAMILY AND MAKING ME FEEL AT HOME! THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME HERE SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. I TRULY APPRECIATE THE GENUINE CARE AND GREAT POSITIVE ENERGY HERE! THE QUALITY OF CHARACTER FROM CHRIS IS IMPECCABLE AND CANNOT BE TAUGHT! THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DAY! WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THIS WORLD! I WILL BE BACK! THANK YOU CHRIS!-MAKI”
“Ambar's newest location does not disappoint. If you know Ambar, it goes without saying the food is amazing. new offerings on the menu gave me some new favorites to add to my already long list. New cocktails for a new address, yes and thank you! The design esthetic is light and refreshing...And the 2nd floor ceiling is an instagram dream. Easily 5 stars.”
“I came for dinner with a big group of friends and we had such a lovely evening. The food and service were both stellar, and they were very accommodating of the size of our party.”
“I was devastated when I showed up for my reservation today when I realized my reservation was actually for tomorrow, but I left feeling QUITE the opposite. The hostess (I did not catch her name) told us she could squeeze us in as long as we didn’t stay past a certain time (which was so generous and more than enough time to begin with). We ordered our drinks, and when the drinks came, the (manager? bartender? i’m not sure) brought them out and even included a drink he said he created the recipe for yesterday and wanted our thoughts on it! all of the drinks were amazing. the hostess came to our table and told us she even moved reservations around so we didnt have to feel rushed (wish we didn’t to begin with)! it was just so sweet. our food was just as good, if not better. our server (anthony) was so kind.i had high expectations of the food going into dinner but the service was just as great!”
“This my first time here and it was probably one of the best experience I’ve ever had at a bar in DC . I’ll definitely be back for my birthday next week. Love the atmosphere”
“This is a neighborhood bar within easy reach of DC tourists. The drinks are upper shelf and generous, the food is great. The crowd is mostly locals in this basement steak and cocktail restaurant, but I'd recommend it to anyone. I had the Greek salad with anchovies and grilled shrimp - very good.”
“Probably one of my favorite restaurants in DC right now. Food was amazing-- definitely get the octopus and gambas. The red sangria was also really good. Ambiance was very classic Spanish-- perfect to come for date night, with friends, or with family. Service was great and very accommodating.”
“Food slections from varied menu and service were excellent. Prices have definitely increased since last visits and administrative fee for using credit card? What's that about at a restaurant where everyone uses a credit card?”
“Truly love this place. Recommend sitting at the bar and doing the wine pairing with dinner. Kyle (the bartender) is your go to person - he did a phenomenal job with the menu/ pairings. Love the food, wine, and experience!”
“Great cocktails, great wine, including an affordable, satisfying Barolo! Ravioli is delicious. Yummy squash blossoms. Avoid the veal chop, not sure what was served.”
“Amazing Easter Brunch! Thoroughly enjoyed the Easter Brunch experience at 1789. The menu, ambience, and service were exceptional. Gluten Free options available as well.”
“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!”
“The ambiance and food was immaculate! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made appropriate food recommendations for our party. I enjoyed the Shrimp Thermidor as a starter and Cumin Lamb as my entree. They were both delectable, I can't say one was better than the other. I'm ready to go back!”
“Amazing food from start to finish, amazing portions, great tea, and Coffee. We read the reviews as we where looking for a place to eat breakfast. The owner is amazing, the food is phenomenal, my family and I all agreed. My kids never agree on food, we were all in a food coma.”
“Have stopped in twice, both times for the Happy Hour in the first floor bar area. The drinks have been excellent and the bartenders attentive. The food options for the HH are varied and each dish was satisfying and unique. Highlights are the soup dumplings, pork belly, and khachapuri breads (cannot go wrong with any of the varieties). I haven’t tried for a standard dinner but the tastings I’ve had and service make this a great spot. Street parking only if you’re driving, but the neighborhood is solid and you shouldn’t have too much issue.”
“I tried the brussel sprouts and the biscuits. The brussels sprouts wern't a hit with me but those biscuits blew me away!Get the biscuits! The staff was nice and accommodating.”
“We went to Kyojin for the first time and Jessica took care of us and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! Jessica gave me all her recommendations and explained the menu thoroughly to me as it was my first time which I extremely appreciated. She made notes of what my favorite fish and dishes are in general to give me better recommendations that suited me. Overall great experience. Also amazing atmosphere and such a cool place. Thank you Jessica!”
“I had my birthday breakfast at The Greenhouse in DC. I ordered the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes. ? These were fluffy, not too sweet, not too 'chocolately', and the banana on the top was glazed with crystalized sugar ..mmm.. Just right for me. The staff was friendly, too. Overall a pleasant experience. ??Kid-friendliness: I saw a few tables with families/grandparents and children sitting together.”
“Every bite we had here was delicious. Their Lapis Old Fashioned is delectable and Trilogy is a fun take on Mezcal. The Lamb Shank absolutely dissolved in my mouth. The Lamb Masala had incredible flavor and Mahee had a wonderful crust. We had a hard time deciding on the best dessert. The Cacao, Sheer Berenj, Sheer Yakh, and some pistachio cake were a perfect sweet finish.”
“Had a delicious meal on the 2nd floor, outdoor dinning space. Sunday brunch with a view of the baseball stadium. Really enjoyed the avocado toast, scrambled egg flatbread & wings. Cocktails were great too!”
“Great business lunch spot! Service is on point - which is often hard to find in DC. The food is creative and delicious. I highly recommend the steak salad for lunch. The steak is perfectly cooked and the salad fresh and refreshing. Overall such a great experience - enjoy!”
“I got the Buttermilk Fried Amish chicken for take out, and it did not disappoint!! It looked just as it does in pictures, and tasted amazing. I would definitely have it again!”
“JUST INCREDIBLEGreat concept with the way around drinks. You will be given a card which is linked to your Dankort. Then you put this card on at one of the 99 taps (beer, wine, shots, cider, soft drinks). Then you draw according to how many Cl you put in the glass.Their portions of food are large. Pizza super delicious. TRY THEIR MOZZARELLA STICK!”
“If you are craving great sushi and great service you have to come here!!!! I got the firecracker roll and the seaweed salad and it was soo good and very fresh!! Jc was my server and he was the best server I’ve had hands down!!! 100000/10.”
“I'd come back for a slice. Located inside the Western Market on/near GW University. A little hard to find, yelp map doesn't match actual location (used google maps instead). Ordered a half margarita half pepperoni pie. Was hungry so ordered a slice of margarita pizza while we waited. The slice was awesome!!! The crust was crispy airy and delicious. Disappointed a little with the crust on the whole pie... it wasn't crispy at all... a little chewy. Tasted like two completely different pizza spots. Service was friendly. There was room for small or medium sized groups with seating in the back or out in the market place walk way. They had a large selection of drinks including beer/wine/etc.”
“The Green Zone rules. One of the best spots in the city. Delicious food and drinks, mocktails too, great vibes, nice service — perfect. Don’t sleep on the weekend brunch. (But for a place with Palestine flags/signs, why the Obama pic?)”
“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.”
“I had the pleasure of dining at Swahili Village Restaurant and I must say that the food and my experience was amazing. The food tasted so good and was accompanied by African music. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who were happy to share their knowledge of the dishes and made sure my dining experience was just perfect. I loved the decor and the drinks were fantastic. I really am lost for words, apart from the fact that you absolutely have to eat there or you will miss out on something exceptional.”
“Loved dining at Nina May’s for Easter Brunch! Made the reservation quite last minute but we were still able to snag a table for two at one of D.C’s best restaurants! We were also late on our res. due to easter traffic and finding parking around the place but the host was very accommodating and nice. We got the chef’s choice and everything was amazing! Super fresh and the flavors all worked really well together. I also got the cucumber mocktail which was really good! Our server was attentive and really went the extra mile to fix a small mishap (we got to try the amazing carrot cake, on the house!!! it was splendid!!!!). Will definitely be back since they have a seasonal menuParking: Parking is quite limited as most of the streets surrounding this restaurant are restricted/limited to zone/permit holders which seems to be a theme in D.C. Be aware and plan to arrive 15-20 minutes earlier so you have time to look without getting late. Though a host did mention there is a grocery store nearby that you could park at though!”
“We really wanted to try this place and it met our expectations. Food was delicious and service was great. The carrot bread and the Parisian gnocchi with duck were absolutely ”
“I was contemplating between 4 and 5 stars here. I wish yelp had 'half stars.' Take out: I've ordered take out from here twice and have been very pleased with my experience both times. I had the pad see ew and spicy eggplant. Both were very good. Dine in: I came in for lunch yesterday and had a good experience. I ordered a Thai tea and pad Thai noodles. The Thai tea was delicious and the pad Thai was also very good. The pad Thai did taste slightly burnt but not so much so that i didn't enjoy the dish. Pad Thai 4/5 Thai tea: 5/5 Ambiance: clean. Service: good. It wasn't busy so there's one FOH person. He handled front desk, serving and to go orders just fine. He checked on me throughout my time there. Menu: they do NOT have a lunch menu. I read from previous yelpers that they ordered off the lunch menu, but unfortunately they don't have a lunch menu anymore. Other: i came in to eat and work, but right now they do not have WiFi. I was able to use my hotspot just fine. I will be back to try other menu items as i have enjoyed everything I've eaten so far.”
“We are obsessed with Revelers hour! It’s so cozy inside and the food is always delicious - the garlic knots are a must. Great alternative to tail up goat , more food for less price! Our waiter was great at selecting wines for our table. Also good for vegetarians too - plenty of options I could choose from! The tortelli and the ceaser are some of our favorites.Vegetarian options: Multiple pastas and appetizers for vegetarians!”
“This spot on H St Corridor is hands down my favorite. The drinks, service, and food consistently impress. The ambiance is wonderfully moody with dim lighting and great background music. I always opt for the vegan version of the beef noodles, which are consistently flavorful and delicious. The bartenders are not only friendly but also knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations. I appreciate that they maintain an accessible archive of past menus, allowing guests to order from a wide range of drink options. Despite its small size and the place sometimes getting crowded, outdoor seating and an extra bar on the back patio provide additional space.”

“This is the best Popeyes Chicken. I went to the one in Northwest and on Oxon Hill next to the Giant. This one tastes so much better. I don't know why. The signature hot wings are delicious here. The area is bad but the food is great.”
“Love these folks but you've really got to pay attention and make sure they package your entire meal. It's a high chance you're not going to get your order of mac & cheese.”
“Our go-to for the best Thai food in the area!! Everything is fresh, flavorful and delicious. The decor is modern and comfortable. We particularly like sitting in the booths. We generally have a good service there, but the last time we went with a party of 5. The waitress added an automatic 20% gratuity and then was incredibly slow and curt. We literally sat for 20 minutes before she even greeted us. Then we sat for another 15 minutes before she took our drink order. After waiting another 15 minutes we had to hunt her down to take our food order and then later for the check. It was the slowest meal I’ve ever had anywhere. Thankfully, the food was still delicious and we weren’t in a hurry, so I didn’t feel the need to complain. :)Parking: We parked in the garage right next to the restaurant for $6 flat. If you are facing the front door of resto, garage is immediately to the right. The street is one way, so have to turn onto it before the restaurant.”
“Amazing food and service. It was our second time here and it has become one of our favorites. The owner went above and beyond to fix a small error. Highly highly recommend Angolo. If you don't go, you're missing out!”
“This place is amazing, the price is so worth it. Everything is made fresh, so much flavor, I've been going here for about 2 years now often and I never had a meal that disappoints. You can even sample the soups they have that day, it's great! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I am not a beef or pork eater and they always have something either vegetarian, chicken or turkey.”
“Magical. For me, this place is an essential part of the DC experience. The squeeze bottles, the atmosphere, the staff: I would never consider visiting DC on a weekend and not stopping by.”
“Very speedy and friendly delivery. We had your food, for part of our Thanksgiving meal. The salmon and chicken kabobs were delicious. The tzatziki and Mediterranean style cooked vegetables were delicious as well. Would recommend ordering from Palette Dome Cuisine, for any occasion. Keep up the good cooking.”
“I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years. It is charming, very dog friendly on their beautiful patio , reasonably priced and delicious!! Tonight we ordered the take out Valentines menu (my husband has a broken ankle) and it was delicious! We have ordered many of their “comfort meals” during Covid and all were very tasty and very generous. My husband is 5’10” and a former football player and I honestly think their meals for two Could feed three! We are so happy to have this great restaurant in our neighborhood.”
“What a great place. They're trying out new menu items this Monday, and we got to sample a few. Very delicious crab cake and margaritas! Wish we were here longer to sample everything that's new. We felt like family in this establishment. Very welcoming staff and the food is delicious! Highly recommend.”

“First time trying Cane & Coconut and was not disappointed! Customer service was A1 and the bbq tacos are fire! Will definitely visit again when I am in the area! Thank you for an amazing experience!”
“I've been before, to another one, but my experience wasn't the best, so i vowed never to go back. I went with my daughter who lives by this place..lol It was a better experience and the staff was very nice. Now I have to have a bowl at least once to twice a week! I love Mediterranean!! ❤️❤️”

“Wow! Ate breakfast there on a recent trip to DC and would definitely go again. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The stuffed French toast was a slice of sweet heaven! The corned beef hash and crab cake eggs benedict were slices of savory heaven! We could not decide whose meal was the best and there was even more on the menu that looked phenomenal.Update August 2022 - definitely happy we came back! Still awesome Vanilla Cream Filled French Toast and also tried the Breakfast Street Tacos which were yummy!Update May 2024 - still delicious! The Chicken & Waffles is a great treat!”
“Ashley…. Downstairs by the bar !!!! She was an amazing bar tender and service on our food !! She was the best! I’ve since I’ve been coming hereParking: Pick a good spot ! lol”
“We didn't have a reservation on a busy Friday night, and luckily we're able to nab and pull together the last two seats at the bar. The bartenders are attentive and quick to take our orders. The burger, BLT turkey avocado, and house sodas were excellent. I loved the many non-alcoholic options with complex and interesting flavors.”
“Went for Sunday brunch buffet and it was a good variety of items and nice dining room. The buffet wasn’t set up for all the guests so it was crowded and difficult to move around. However the server we had was great and very friendly. I had a hibiscus flavored soda made there and it was FANTASTIC.”
“My family and i came here for my daughters 14th birthday. We were so impressed with the ascetics of the restaurant, it was absolutely beautiful. Great for pictures but the food was mediocre and the selection of food was horrible.”
“Great place! Everything here works perfectly fine, since the hostess to the manager! Great service, great food, friendly people, beautiful ambient, great cocktails!love it”
“This restaurant truly lives up to its 4$ Rating. I can’t wait to go back. Robby and his crew gave exceptional customer service. I have already started to tell all my peers you have to go to this restaurant.”
“Exceptional experience! We arrived ten minutes earlier than our reservation, and as a manager passed and saw us waiting, he took us and seated us early! Our waiter, Daniel H, was top notch. You could tell he truly cared about the guest’s experience. We got the New York Strip with chili flake broccolini, which was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, literally cooked perfectly. The wedge salad with added chicken was flavorful and delicious. The fried chicken sandwich was moist with a perfectly crunchy breading, perfect for my ten year old. When we visit DC again in the future, The Hamilton will be a MUST visit dinner spot!”
“I had such a memorable night a Georgia Brown. Very welcoming place, awesome peach martinis to put our table in the right mood. Very kind staff, extremely generous portion, full of flavor. I was not able to finish the guambo which never happened to me before. Phenomenal, no question on why Georgia Brown is a local institution.”
“Good spot is Georgetown for Italian. It’s in a nice location near the canal and close to the waterfront. Dinner time and sometimes lunch are very busy here. During three week for dinner is not so bad especially after the rush. The interior environment is not very conducive to conversing. The noise levels are more intrusive than other restaurants. That’s why a weekday dinner here is nicer especially if on a date.A good option is takeout for pizza. The pasta and meatballs are very good.”
“This resturaunt was amazing! The service was absolutely the best, the food was sooooo delicious and flavorful and the ambiance was great. Definitely will be going there again.”
“Love this restaurant! Food, service and ambiance are all great! I hosted a work holiday party here and have been back for smaller dinners with family. I highly recommend!”
“As a Texan visiting Succotash in DC, I was pleasantly surprised by the Southern charm infused into every aspect of the dining experience. From the moment I stepped inside, the ambiance transported me back to my hometown with its rustic decor and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a delightful array of Southern classics with a modern twist, showcasing the chef's creativity while staying true to traditional flavors. I couldn't resist starting with the fried green tomatoes, a staple back home, and they did not disappoint. Crispy on the outside, tangy and flavorful on the inside – just like Mama used to make. For my main course, I opted for the shrimp and grits, a dish I consider a true test of Southern authenticity. Succotash passed with flying colors. The shrimp were plump and succulent, perfectly complemented by the creamy grits and smoky bacon. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that reminded me of lazy Sunday mornings on the porch back in Texas. To top it all off, I indulged in a slice of pecan pie that rivaled any I've had before. The buttery crust, the rich filling, and the crunchy pecans combined to create a dessert worthy of a Southern grandmother's approval.Overall, my experience at Succotash was nothing short of fantastic. The food, the atmosphere, and the service all exceeded my expectations, making me feel right at home despite being miles away from the Lone Star State. If you're craving authentic Southern cuisine in the heart of DC, look no further than Succotash. Y'all won't be disappointed.”
“I will for sure be back! Only thing I did not like was the meatballs, they were dry.. but everything else was delicious! The Greek salad and the duck carbonara were for fainting!!! This place is super cute with lots of cute photo opportunities!! I love that it's like buffet without the actual buffet and tapas . Fair warning if you want something just for yourself they bring enough for everyone at the table lol I left feeling very fat and happy”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Los Caballeros for their weekend brunch and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles from the staff and the owner himself. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and had a laid-back vibe, perfect for a lazy weekend brunch. Now let's talk about the food. Los Caballeros proved to be a pleasant surprise. They were able to accommodate options for vegetarians, vegans, and pescatarians. But what truly stole the show for me were the drinks. I highly recommend trying their pitcher of tamarindo margarita. It was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy, and definitely hit the spot. They also had other options like mimosas and bloody marys for those who prefer a classic brunch drink. The owner, who was also our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made sure we were enjoying our meal and even gave us some recommendations for their signature dishes. It was evident that he takes great pride in his restaurant and wants his customers to have a memorable experience. To end our brunch on a sweet note, we decided to try their dessert. And let me tell you, it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.Overall, my experience at Los Caballeros was exceptional. From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out for their weekend brunch or even for a regular meal. The owner and his team have truly created a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for their customers. So next time you're in the mood for some delicious food, head over to Los Caballeros and treat yourself to a delightful brunch. You won't regret it.Parking: This area of parking gets very busy due to being right beside the area of the Capitol.”
“The much-anticipated sister restaurant of Purple Patch opened just a few weeks ago and I'm already hooked! It's a lovely addition to the neighborhood, offering a simple menu with a lot of flavor. The wagyu burger is nicely balanced, and depending on your appetite you can get a single to a triple patty. The ube soft serve with coconut is such a hit and the flavors are perfect. It's been really busy for good reason, so you might have to wait in line especially on really nice days, but service is pretty fast and they also have an order online link. Enjoy the outdoor seating on a nice day! Indoor area is small but very pretty, and stools with counter-style tables lining the interior. Very kid friendly as well as they have a kids' menu,' tables, and neighborhood kids' art on the walls. You can also purchase a few Filipino snacks like v-cut chips and boy bawang (garlic corn nuts), and they also have some canned non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available. With the addition of Joia Burger, the owner Patrice really shows how much she cares about the Mount Pleasant community and is invested in it. It's a great spot to swing by for a quick meal and friendly faces!”
“There was a fight snafu with service at the start/we were overlooked while people seated after us were waited on. As soon as we brought it to their attention the service was excellent and attentive, and they graciously picked up one of our appetizers. The food was out of this world. The warm hummus was sooo delicious!! The dishes were imaginative, beautiful spiced and presented. A really wonderful dining experience!”
“came for dinner for iftaar since the menu’s halal & the flavor was unreal, we came as a group & tried one of everything and left full & very satisfied!! Highly recommend and will be a consistent customer for ”
“What a great addition to Capitol Hill-- delicious food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. I'm going to get some friends together soon to check out the upstairs open air patio (with heater if needed). So far I've enjoyed the salmon entre and the delicious--and authentic--lobster roll. There's lots more on the menu for me to check out!”
“They had great drinks for St. Patrick’s day. The truffle fries were also really good. They also have a connect four board and a dart board which was fun to play with my friends.”
“No complaints from me :) Nice and new. Wheelchairs can get in through the back from M St. We were early for dinner, so the only ones when we got there, but it started getting busier while we were there. Wonderful service. They were friendly and explained the menu. The food was the best part: incredibly delicious variety, healthy, and filling. Lots of options eaten by picking up with injera bread. There are lots of different spices, and they made some dishes less spicy for someone in our group who couldn't eat spicy foods.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can get in through the back from M St.”
“Our first time! The Brats are good. Loved the haus slaw but they only filled the container half way up which was disappointing. Was hoping for German potato salad too. Overall what we got was good but not enough food for $30.”
“Food is amazzzinnnggg!!!! The crab dip is the best crab dip I have ever had, cornbread was delicious, tandoori chicken juicy and flavorful, and the best tiramisu I ever tried. I had their version of an espresso martini with tequila and it was soo yummy and smooth. Service was impecable we had a large party and the servers were very accommodating. Will definitely be coming back soon!”
“This is, without a doubt, the best cup of coffee I've had in or around DC- maybe anywhere. Café Cino is a small pop-up offering ethically sourced, hand-curated coffees and teas from around the world. It's located inside of PLNTR, a local small business specializing in plants, plant accessories, pottery and art. The space is quaint, super well decorated, and warm, with a fantastic playlist playing at all times. Each menu entry at Café Cino is wonderfully distinct- every time I've gone, I've sampled different roasts, countries of origin, and brewing styles with the guidance of the owner Ron. While the selection may seem daunting at first- especially if you don't have a lot of experience with coffee- you can wholeheartedly trust Ron's expert recommendations. He is clearly passionate about the service he provides, and started Café Cino after being an espresso machine technician for large coffee chains in DC. The dude is a wizard. On top of an incredible selection and a friendly expert running the show- it's one of the cheapest ways to enjoy incredible coffee in DC. For a hot drip, you can expect to pay $3. Ron also sells his own beans! As expected, they are truly top-tier- perfect roast, never burnt, super rich and deep on the dark roast. I will be going back as often as humanly possible to support this business (and to drink dope coffee). I can't recommend it enough.”
“Great fries, burgers, and hotdogs. We come from an area with a thousand burger places so I feel like I know my way around a burger joint. The hand-cut fries and flat top cooked burgers here are legitimately good. The food is made fresh after ordering and you can see the entire process which I always like. Food quality seems high, and they don't skimp on quantity either - a small fry is huge and more than enough to go with your meal. The staff seemed friendly although I think they need a bit more practice running a place like this and will improve. Pricing seems high, although I struggle to get an idea what pricing for food should be in D.C. - it seems wildly all over the place and I don't know what to expect from one place to the next.”
