“I am visiting and stumbled on this restaurant while strolling the neighborhood. What a diamond in the rough. My husband is from Gambia and he enjoyed everything he ordered. And the staff is outstanding. I will definitely be back for the great African food.“
“This place was amazing! I was visiting DC for the first time and looked up African cuisine spots to eat at and saw this one. Now as an African myself my expectations were high and this spot exceeded it! 10/10! Fresh hot food, I ordered the Efo riro with chicken, pounded yam and large jollof rice. I also got puff puffs and she made sure to give me fresh ones after asking me to patiently wait for her to finish making a new batch. She was very sweet! My trip next time I will come only here for food!“
“Things I love about Mansa Kunda:A- Covid safe! A large beautiful patio, and the inside is big, airy, and almost never crowded!B- The service. These guys treat you like family and it’s super kid friendly. Also the decorations are BEAUTIFUL.C- THE FOOD! I will crave their jollof couscous for the rest of my life. The afra chicken — how do they do that?? Crispy and salty with a little char and a liiiiittle spice (my toddler ests it). My husband loves the peanut butter chu. Also there is an insane selection of DELICIOUS house made desserts.Truly love this place!Kid-friendliness: The staff are so sweet and there is lots of room to run around. Plus: the bird phone!“
“Great place to eat. There wasn't a person at the hostess stand so we looked around the corner and someone spotted us and came over to sit us down, less than a five minute wait. Super attentive, lovely decorations. Food was delicious. Plenty of options for spicy food lovers.“
“If you’re looking to enjoy authentic Ghanaian foods and be entertained by some cool Afrobeats, save yourself the hassle of flying to Accra and drive to Calabash West African Cuisine nearby in Alexandria Virginia. The only Ghanaian restaurant in the DMV area where the food tastes as good as it looks. Chale, go chop there o and enjoy, please abeg!“
“The food I ordered (lamb & goat w/ rice) was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ginger & pineapple drink is made with a kick of a spicy ingredient but it is very refreshing.Overall you get a good portion for your money.Be patient, the service is a little slow but the food is worth the wait.“
“I have visited several African restaurants in DMV. De.Raanch restaurants and Bar is absolutely bed when it comes real restaurants serving food.I heard so much about De Rannch: The pioneer of authentic African restaurants restaurants. We came here today to find out for ourselves. Upon entering the door, we were greeted with a smiling face by the lady who was behind the counter..She then walked up to the dinning room and sat us down .The menu is a light booklet with all the motherland foods. I decided to go for the hard to find items: Ishiehu, Nkobi, ugba, and bitter leaf soup. My friend ordered abach( African salad) to our surprise all these items were brought to our table hot and fresh. We looked at each other and said this is it. The management is serious about thier business. No stories just good authentic food. The environment is very clean. No smells, tables are shining. The restrictions are clean. This is what I cal restaurants. I strongly recommend De Ranch for the restaurants to treat your out of town guests.“
“Dibi lampchops and Yassa Chicken have some now!!!! This is one of those classic ethnic hole in the wall restaurants with a very humble small seating area, and very flavorful food. The lamb was cooked perfectly, and sizzles with flavor. They gave us a huge portion of caramelized onions, which you just smother all over the rice and it’s heavenly. The chicken was fantastic on the spicy side, but very tasty. I also had a ginger juice drink that tasted similar to ginger beer. Just a tip they don’t have club soda so you might want to bring some and mix it with that ginger drink and it will be very similar to ginger beer. This is located in a walkable area in Hyattsville (which is a hidden gem). We will be back for sure.“
“Great, no-frills West African place. Jodeem easily outpaces regional competitors on flavors. Earthy, spicy, sweet in all the right proportions. We got the bitter leaf soup with beef, spinach and beans with chicken, and beef patties. The bitter greens were the clear winner in fragrance and “
“I can always count on them for a good meal. The jollof rice, Peppered chicken, peppered fish, Okra soup, Cassava leaf, Puff puff are some of my favorites. always delicious and served piping hot. not too much spice, always perfect. the women are always kind and friendly, greet you with a smile!“
“Found this place via google search. What a find!! Very authentic and delicious Ghanaian dishes. I had the red-red with chicken. It's my favorite Ghana dish and it was great. Huge portion ended up being dinner and leftovers for lunch. I'll definitely be back. Need to try the oxtails and egusi and waatye (sp?).“
