“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“
“Food was delicious! Atmosphere and location as well. Our server Thelma R was amazing and catered to all our needs. She even gave us tea on the house because one dish was a bit late (which was understandable because it was a bit busy today). Also, We noticed that she was attending many other table’s needs as well, not just us, which was amazing!. Will definitely come again! Thelma definitely needs a raise! We hope to eat at agora and be served by Thelma again!“
“The crispy artichoke bowl is the best vegan food that I've had in DC. Artichoke was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with a great crunch. The bowl is by default half grains and half salad. I really liked the grains, so next time I will ask to see if the half salad can be substituted for all grains!I was also eyeing the desserts but opted out of getting anything, although they are still on my bucket list!“
“I had an amazing time at Abuare. After my haircut at the lady clipper next door, I walked past their happy hour sign and gave them a try. They made this amazing sangria from scratch and just happened to have the beautiful pink tulips sitting by.“
“From walking inside, the server was very welcoming and brought a great atmosphere to the restaurant. He constantly checked up on us and made sure our water was always refilled. The food here is also great, ordered the saag chicken and kheer. Both were amazing. Over all, highly recommend this place and I would definitely be returning!❣️“
“Some of the most delicious food in DC. As a vegan they had so many incredible options that you can’t always find at regular Indian restaurants. The dosa with potato filling and idly were incredible and the server was so quick to provide her recommendation for her favorite vegan curry. My friend was gluten free too and we had so many options to enjoy - it was a feast! All vegans in the area need to run over here right away! Veganesha is the bestVegetarian options: Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available“
“This was BY FAR the best dosas and Idli we have had in years! Chef Paul is amazing and he told me he doesn’t believe in catering or delivery because South Indian food is best served hot and fresh and I couldn’t agree more! The Idlis melted in my mouth. The dosas were just perfect - the masala and chutney and sambhar -10/10! Go - no run to this place!“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at elfegne Ethiopian restaurant in d.c and it was a delightful experience. The cozy ambiance and friendly service set the stage for a memorable meal. The Ethiopian dishes were full of flavor and authenticity. I especially loved the injera and tibs – they were cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend elfegne Ethiopian restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Ethiopian cuisine in D.C“
“Really, really delicious veggie tacos. You can tell from the flavor and texture that the tortillas are homemade. I had the creamy kale and potato taco on my first try, and want to go back to try more. The iced hibiscus tea is tasty and very refreshing.Very clean and welcoming environment.“
“Falafel inc had been recommended to me as the spot to get a cheap fill and a good portion of falafel. It didn’t disappoint I got that whole bowl for $5, which is unheard of in Georgetown where a meal will take ur whole wallet. My only complaint being not enough sauce to offset the huge amount of spinach. It felt a bit dry and flavorless at times but I can’t give it less than 4 stars for the quality to amount ratio. Also bc the falafel itself was so crispy and flavorful.“
“Stayed at a hotel nearby and found the Hive Bar as we walked the neighborhood. We were looking for something fast and tasty and the pizza did not disappoint!! They were trying out a new menu (for the Super Bowl) so we snacked on popcorn chicken and tatters as well. Tatters are a favorite!!“The” Old Fashioned cocktail was amazing!! Our bartender was an expert and made this delicious drink delicious every time! The bar is accessible, with a bar and tables on the first floor, and an elevator to the rooftop bar. The pizza/food is delivered from &Pizza which is attached to the hotel.Street parking was easy on the weekend.“
“Fast vegan food joint. Had the original burger, it was good and everything was fresh. I think it could definitely do without the tomato paste as it over powered the other flavors. The mushroom pita was also good. No need for the extra spice sauce as it has plenty of flavor. Good portions.“
“Delicious food and gluten free options. I do wish the menu online was the same as the restaurant, it seemed there were more options for my friend than there wereDietary restrictions: There were lots of gluten free options, but fewer vegan options than I anticipated“
“Delicious food and extremely attentive and friendly waitstaff. Even received special attention from the owner who stopped by with a complementary sampling of other dishes to ensure that we had a rich experience of this wonderful cuisine. Highly recommend it unless you are looking for a very quiet dinner.“
“It's been so exciting to see an entirely plant-based concept be so successful and expanding so rapidly and now that I have visited I absolutely see why. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. My friend and I had been dying to try their plant-based sushi and not only did it blow us away but the other dishes we tried were equally as incredible. Here's what we got for two people. We were quite full and took some leftovers: - ahi watermelon nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: If you didnt know this was made of watermelon you could absolutely mistake it for the real thing. The texture is mind blowing and the flavor is on point. Amazing way to start the meal (and end it because we ended up ordering another round to finish our meal) - unagi eggplant nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: So delicious. Definitely must order. The eggplant is super tender, just like eel. - spicy tuna roll: we ordered the hand roll but I think the server misheard so we ended up with the maki but it wasn't a big deal and i wasn't upset to get to try their take on maki rolls. I think their rice could use some work but this was still tasty! - Dan Dan noodles: incredible. Our server advised us to get the Dan Dan noodles over the Singapore noodles entirely because of the saucy-ness of this dish and he did not steer us wrong. These noodles are drowning in sauce (in the best way) Even though it's a peanut sauce it was perfectly balanced and creamy. The noodles themselves had a great chew and the use of kamut (a grain) in the dish as a substitute for the traditional ground pork was inspired. - bang bang broccoli: broccoli has never tasted this good. I mean it, not only is the broccoli is shockingly crispy while being perfectly cooked through the center, but the broccoli itself tasted so creamy and delicious unlike any broccoli I have had before. And the bang bang sauce is bangin too. All this being said, if you are trying to be choosy and try the most unique dishes, I would probably skip this dish in favor of more sushi. Overall, this was an incredible, unique, and innovative meal and I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. This is how vegetables could and should taste, if only we put as much love into them as we do with meat. At least the chefs at Planta are listening.“
“The food is remarkable! Everything we ordered, we ordered in the "all Vegan" version; vegan enchiladas, vegan nachos, vegan mushroom taco, vegan butternut squash taco. All this food was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to order from Chaia again.“
“It was a very nice experience I enjoy going there. The food is delicious. I would like to see the happy hour Just to be a little bit longer. Like to have a happy hour menu. Salmon sliders, Burgers, Crabs balls be nice Also it's good to have lower combo meals chicken wings and fries, Fishing chips, And all different types of salads. From your chef's salad to your garden salad. Just my opinion is a very nice spot. I enjoy being there.“
“Great customer service, great location, and even better pizzas! We visited for Pi Day and enjoyed the American Honey and a customized pizza. I highly recommend the American Honey!! The location is about a 10-min walk to the Kennedy Center. Stop by before a show!“
“I see Columbia Heights &pizza hired new employees!! Not to say their employees didn’t have great service previously but loved destiny energy. I come to this location because they remember my order, soon destiny would know it. 5 stars.“
“I always happy to eat out of this location the cashier, Lemlem is always pleasant and gives the utmost great customer service when I am waited on by her. She greets me with a smile every time and makes sure I have the best experience every time. I rate it and her a 10 out of 10 ?“
“I eat there about twice a week. The menu is small, that is, not trying to be all things to all people, and has a Latino flavor. But what is offered is quite good and often not to be found elsewhere on Mt. Pleasant Street. My favorite is the Dos Gringos breakfast bagel, with avocado, tomato and capers. Capers! Where else can I get capers for breakfast? The restaurant is oriented to facilitating conversation and meetings of community activists, as well as helping community artists. I myself have bought art off the wall there.“
“Very clean location. Friendly staff. The harvest salad with hot grains was delicious and very filling. Not a fan of the lemon dressing but that's not their fault. All the vegetables were fresh even though I came in closer to their closing time. My order was completed very quickly. Will be back.“
“Absolutely amazing. Definitely would recommend :)! Kind people, atmosphere was relaxing, and the food was delicious. Great for vegans and non-vegans! We ordered the crab cake, steak and cheese, Mac and cheese, fries, and it was all so satisfying. There is also a co-op next door that is wonderful :)“
“This is hand down my favorite &pizza. I work down gallery so they have definitely proven themselves. Fee, Blu know my order by heart at this point. Pizza dough are made perfectly shaped with no odd shapes. This is the best &pizza in the “
“I love &pizza and especially the Hst location. Every week or other week I come in to get a pizza and watch an episode of my show. The staff has always been so kind. It doesn’t matter if I’m coming in for lunch or after a long shift, they’re always so helpful. Big s/o to Alan and Waverley for the great service always. ✨“
“This was my first time trying Sweetgreen and I decided to create my own salad.I overdid it with the dressing, so I asked for more quinoa to balance it out. I offered to pay for that but was reassured that wouldn't be necessary. Larkia, the Sweetgreen manager, was fantastic, so helpful, and made sure I had everything I needed! This was in October last year and I have returned every time I have been in the US since.sweetgreen order: kale and quinoa base, chopped almonds, seasoned chicken, tomato, cucumber, italian pesto dressing (medium)Vegetarian options: Mehrere.“
“This place was suggested by the staff the Thompson Washington for a quick, tasty lunch. If you come during lunch hours it is pretty business so expect a slight wait. It was my first visit so I went with the crispy rice and added the parmesan crisps ... yum! The salad was really fresh. They have a few tables inside and outdoor seating as well. I would highly recommend if you're looking for a good salad and want something different.“
“I ALWAYS choose this &pizza to get regular cheese pizza for my daughter who loves pizza so much, and vegan nots or a vegan cheese pizza for my 2 1/2 year old. This &pizza location is always welcoming and kind. They are all quick and great with service. I always receive satisfaction that leads me to leave a tip. My food outcome is on point most of the time if not it does get put on point. No problem. Because of this locations great serivce and welcoming spirit I choose &pizza 80% of the time when pizza is chosen for dinner. If the &pizza that is closer to me had this &pizza's service and welcoming spirit, I would always 100% go to and pizza for pizza. Here to you all at Eastern Market &pizza!!! You all are great, thank you for always making me and my children feel special on our visits, much love!“
“I highly recommend secrets of Nature DC When I lived in the area this was the place that my children enjoyed all their healthy meals! I loved Cory & the staff! I also was taught so much about eating correctly! My children are grown adults & is practicing healthy choices! May God continue to bless Cory & those he ❤️ love!“
“After hearing about Sweetgreen for a while, I finally decided to give it a try. I must say, the food is absolutely delicious and the portions are quite generous. Additionally, the service provided was excellent and the restaurant itself is clean and well-organized. My only minor complaint would be that the sauce used in their dishes is a tad too salty for my personal preference.“
“A favorite lunch spot with great deals texted right to your phone. Super fast with online ordering ,and always a parking space around back for a quick lunch run when you need it. Thanks for continuing to save me from the "hangrys" on a busy work day.“
“I recently ordered from Spring and Sprout through DoorDash and was genuinely impressed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-presented, even after being delivered. The packaging was practical, ensuring everything arrived in perfect condition. Efficient delivery added to the positive experience. I'd definitely recommend them.Vegetarian options: Plenty and customizable“
“First time having a salad from Chopt. Visited the 7th Street location while in DC and absolutely loved the salad ?.Quick Service, Made to Order and Served with care! One of the best salad I have had in a long time and the portion was enough for lunch and dinner“
“We were starving after the ill-fated attempt to Beat the Bomb (See review). Too tired to walk the mile or more for full restaurant fare that didn't require reservations, all the places nearby were just bar food. And though i don't mind bar food...we wanted something else Honestly: didn't even know MoMs had eat-in-store options. I'd only been to the one in White Marsh, and it doesn't Cutting through the store headed to the elevator to the parking garage, we saw "this": the Naked Lunch And thought. Hmmm. Quick. Healthy. Non-bar. Why not? All vegetarian, vegan, lots of raw, veggies, and legumes, grains, and fruit and vegetable juices! Sooo glad we did! 2/4 of us frequent the establishment so we followed their lead I got the moolah bowl and a friend got a juice made of all kinds of fresh stuff. She said it was THE best fresh juices juice she'd ever had. Unfortunately they were out of both avocado and mushrooms, so I subbed brown rice and black beans. LOVED IT They roast the veggies, and just totally mix the greens and toppings n veggies altogether and dump it in a brown box! DELISH AND HUMONGOUS. I literally am on my 3rd meal of it, today! I'm gonna write to the moms in white marsh and ask why "we" don't have the ear in option? Staff: two VERY hard working folk going at it, being patient with us first timers and totally apologetic about the items they were out of (as though it were their fault). A short line started to form behind us and a lady appeared from the rear to help them out. Good to see an establishment recognize a need to come to the aid of other workers to ensure customer satisfaction“
“I love the BBQ tofu. Its a nice sweet BBQ sauce with a little bit of a nutty flavor (not sure if there's actually nuts). The Mac and cheese is okay. Sometimes the cheese texture is similar to the texture of glue. I think I'm used to a different style of vegan Mac and cheese like Nu vegan or E life has. The people who work here are always nice and there's an interesting small plant based grocery connected to the restaurant that you can look around while waiting for your food.“
“EGG ROLLS! EGG ROLLS! EGG ROLLS! So this is one of the last restaurants in DC that actually makes their egg rolls by hand. Most of the other restaurants order them from a central kitchen and they're basically spring rolls instead of eggrolls. I've never done drugs but this place is basically my eggroll dealer. Just last night I picked up six egg rolls 10 minutes before they closed and four of them are left. The rest of the menu is fantastic and they don't really skimp or cut corners on anything. The interior is very modest but let's be honest you're probably just doing takeout anyway or ordering on Postmates/Ubereats. This place is a diamond in the rough and I will continue to be their faithful customer until my last day on this earth.“
“I've been a long time customer of Turning Natural and highly recommended their juices, smoothies and cleanses. My favorite smoothie is their Happy Hemp that comes with mango, pineapple, spinach, spirulina and hemp protein. So yummy! The black bean burger and spinach patty are pretty good too. They now even have açaí and pitaya bowls that I'm excited to try. They're also black owned and have locations throughout the DMV. You really can't go wrong!“
“One of the best hookah spot in the entire dmv. Food is great and service was excellent. If you are looking for something good food and hookah and drink that’s the place to be. It’s near convention center. No problem with parking as well.“
“I would like to give a shout out and big THANK YOU to Maurice and team for ensuring that everything went well with our order. He was professional, prompt and thorough and frankly went above and beyond. He called to make sure order was delivered as well as patiently walked me through the order the day prior to ensure that we had everything including orders that came in after I had submitted the order. I also want to add that I loved the platform ordering system as well as the Uber notification/tracking. I was a little nervous placing the order from Texas especially since the delivery was for our DC office, but things could not have flown smoother. Many thanks again Maurice and sending a big Texas THANK YOU!“
“I visited this location yesterday, Feb. 28, between 7-8pm and received the best customer service I’ve received from anywhere in a very long time. I didn’t get the guy’s name but, his positive attitude and service changed the problematic day I was having into something positive.Dietary restrictions: Vegan“
“I've visited two different locations, Gaithersburg and DC, during a weekday and a weekend. This visit is at Gallery Place in DC. The food was good, but the prices were a bit steep considering it was around the time Happy Hour was in effect in most places. It was a good thing none of us consumed alcohol. I'm not sure if they had a happy hour menu, didn't see one, and we weren't told of it. The calamari was okay, I had better. The house habanero sauce helped for the taste buds. I forgot to take a picture before we dug in. The firecracker shrimp were good, but not so much of a firecracker taste. It was more of a mild sharachi taste. The onion rings were tasteful, and the shrimp tacos were very good. The Korean Chili Garlic Wings ( not shown)were really good and crispy. The plain wings were just that. The Brussel Sprouts were okay. The french fries, well, they're fries. The service was not great, but good since it's a busy place and it was Happy Hour. The atmosphere was cool, especially since it was Concert Night at a Wizards Game. I'll definitely visit again and will inquire about happy hour prices if such exist.“
“Popped into the Chopt Salad location near the White House. Had a late lunch, was able to find a healthy alternative to hamburger and fries. Staff was friendly and courteous. Helped me to select the right ingredients for my salad. Meal was alittle pricey, but totally worth it. Fresh, clean salad, and compostable containers for earth friendly planet. Check out this location, you will not be disappointed.“
“Food was terrific! Family members all picked different bowls, except one who chose a salad. Food tasted and looked fresh. Generous portions. Blackened chicken was a favorite but no one was a fan of the barbecue sauce, which had a strong Dijon mustard taste. Also, sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly and were delicious but everyone who got them said they were disappointed they were cold.“
“This place has an awesome, health centric menu. They also have a lot of GF dishes that sounded amazing, and I had a hard time choosing! I ended up getting their cheese dip along with the shrimp plate with sides of GF Mac and cheese along with cauliflower risotto. Everything tasted amazing, and it was a nice portion. Not ridiculously large but also not small. The Mac and cheese was excellent, and I begrudgingly shared the cheese dip after realizing how good that was too. The delivery time was pretty short, so I would also assume wait times in the restaurant itself are not long either. I cannot wait to go to this place in person!Dietary restrictions: Lots of GF and vegetarian options, very clearly labeled and plentiful“
“Ok, the pizza was good. Very tasty. Now, the other things. Fountain drink @ $2.75 is very pricey when a pizza is over $11. The ambiance is tired, fixtures (table and counters) are worn out, and need to be refresh or a whole scale remodeling. The place does not invite dinning in. Maybe, that's intentional.“
“I picked up an order from this location. There was a shelf for pickup orders which made it super easy. The inside of the restaurant seemed clean and had a lot of seating available. There is plenty of street parking in front of the restaurant, but it's hard to find an open spot on the weekends. Sweet greens has so many salad and bowl options. I ordered a "create your own" salad. The ingredients were very fresh and I had plenty of add-ins to choose from. This salad was only $12. The prices are definitely reasonable!“
“I come here once a week or at LEAST 4-5 times a month on average and they are always consistent. I might add that all of my orders are in person and the only time my order isn't perfect is when I send someone else to pick up or place my order so there's that. The customer service is always welcoming and the food is consistently fresh. I really can't tell the difference in the quality between this and other CHOPTs. The ONLYYYYYY thing I don't like about this location is that their water/drink fountain has been broke for MONTHS if not the last 2 years or at least for me. It's always either "out of order" or just not working. For that they get 4 stars.“
“Having a gluten allergy, my family and I needed a gluten free option for lunch while exploring the city. &pizza came up under gluten free options, so we decided to check them out. We are SO glad we did! The prices were reasonable for a family of six. My husband said that the GF Outlaw was better than the regular Outlaw! ? The only drawback was not very much seating, but thankfully we got there in time to get a seat.Picture below is the GF Outlaw“
“A good place to grab a smoothie and a quick bite to eat. I haven't had a smoothie I didn't like so go ahead and try them all. I enjoy the spinach patties and the vegetable ones are good too. If only there was some seating, this spot would be even better. Pull up!“
“Oyster Oyster offers a delightful culinary journey celebrating sustainability and creativity. The menu, focusing on plant-based cuisine, presents a diverse array of dishes showcasing seasonal ingredients. Each plate is thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The service is attentive and knowledgeable.“
