“Service is very attentive, if not completely knowledgeable of what exactly their menu offerings are trying to achieve (it's kind of a blend of local with New Orleans, we gathered). We are not huge fans of several of the menu offerings, so of course, our ratings reflect that. Oysters, duck, and several N.O. options were just not our thing. We were mostly there for the drinks & ambiance, which were top shelf. Bottom line, go for the traditional & reimagined Louisiana fare, excellent libations and good times.“

“I’d recommend this place just based on the food itself. I had calamari and a regular lobster roll with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! But the staff is what made Georgetown Seafood special. Right when we walked in (out of a huge rainstorm), a staff member put a towel by the door for us to place our umbrellas on while another staff member immediately found us a table to seat our big group. They took the time to make us feel like VIPs, even down to the extra treats they offered to us after our meal! The place is small, has steep/narrow stairs to the upper level (where the bathroom is located), but even with that I would 100% eat here again and again. Thanks Georgetown Seafood for a wonderful experience!!“

“Very welcoming and attentive staff, server and manager! Finding "hidden gem" restaurants is one of my favorite things. Stan's DC Restaurant is below street level, down some steep stairs.I ordered wings based on reviews...and wow, they were HUGE and tasty, lightly fried without being greasy. The barbeque sauce on the side was very tasty. *Keep in mind, 8 whole wings is really 16 traditional.*My wife enjoyed her ribs as well. The Ciroc Obama...whoa. Served as a tall glass of flavored vodkas with ice, plus a sidecar of OJ. That'll do the job. My Old Fashioned was tasty too.Overall, a nice find. As seen with the eyes of a European, this is a typical Wash. restaurant : large with a good touch of luxury, although bit noisy and with that slightly odd style hard to define. “A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Los Caballeros for their weekend brunch and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles from the staff and the owner himself. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and had a laid-back vibe, perfect for a lazy weekend brunch. Now let's talk about the food. Los Caballeros proved to be a pleasant surprise. They were able to accommodate options for vegetarians, vegans, and pescatarians. But what truly stole the show for me were the drinks. I highly recommend trying their pitcher of tamarindo margarita. It was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy, and definitely hit the spot. They also had other options like mimosas and bloody marys for those who prefer a classic brunch drink. The owner, who was also our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made sure we were enjoying our meal and even gave us some recommendations for their signature dishes. It was evident that he takes great pride in his restaurant and wants his customers to have a memorable experience. To end our brunch on a sweet note, we decided to try their dessert. And let me tell you, it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.Overall, my experience at Los Caballeros was exceptional. From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out for their weekend brunch or even for a regular meal. The owner and his team have truly created a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for their customers. So next time you're in the mood for some delicious food, head over to Los Caballeros and treat yourself to a delightful brunch. “Today, we were incredibly fortunate to visit a unique restaurant, Monocle, located on Capitol Hill. We initially chose it due to its proximity to our hotel, but it turned out to be a true "Washingtonian gem." Opened in 1960, this restaurant has been operated by the same family ever since. The menu is concise, which we believe highlights the culinary excellence presented in merely five dishes. We were in search of "authentic American steaks from real American beef from real American cows." What we received far exceeded our expectations. Both steaks we ordered were exquisitely prepared to perfection. We both agreed that these were the best steaks we've ever had the pleasure of eating in our lives. #MasterpieceAs if the meal itself wasn't enough, our server, Marinos Apostolopoulos, provided us with a genuine journey through the history of this establishment. We are deeply grateful!Given its location near the Capitol, the restaurant has been visited by at least half of American politicians over the last 60 years, including Presidents Nixon, Kennedy, Bush, and Clinton. Celebrities like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, among other incredible individuals, have also frequented this place. The number of VIPs and their dedications displayed in their own photos hanging on every wall is truly astonishing. One of the servers celebrated his 50th work anniversary here two months ago with a surprise party for 250 people, an event that was featured on the front page of the Washington Post, which we had the opportunity to read. The place is beautiful, with incredibly friendly service and excellent food. The wonderful experiences we had will stay with us forever. It's worth traveling for moments like these. We highly recommend it and would love to return someday.“

“Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water, outstanding service, and amazing seafood. I had read some of the reviews that were less than stellar but everything that we ordered was fantastic. We started off with their eggplant appetizer, which was full roasted eggplant -- delicious. For the main entree, I was debating between their grilled calamari and the scallops and the server recommended we share a half portion of the calamari and get the scallops. Great recommendation. The scallops were out of this world and a generous portion too. My wife's fish was delicious as well. No complaints about anything. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it's worth it when the food and the ambiance matches expectations. A definite 5 star for me.“

“On February 17, 2024, I had the pleasure of dining at Truluck's Ocean Finest Seafood restaurant, following a recommendation from my son who had visited two weeks prior. From the moment we arrived, the exterior design of the building beckoned us inside with its inviting allure, earning a solid 5-star rating.Inside, we were warmly greeted by the maitre d'. Despite not having reservations for the elegant dining section, we were graciously offered a seat at a group of tables in the bar area, further enhancing our initial impression with another 5-star rating.Although I typically shy away from shellfish, I was delighted to find an extensive menu offering a variety of seafood, as well as options from land and scales. This diverse selection easily earns a well-deserved 5-star rating. The ambiance inside the restaurant was truly spectacular, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Our table server went above and beyond, providing samples of the menu items and offering detailed descriptions along with pricing information, earning yet another 5-star rating.Following her recommendations, I decided to try the yellowtail raw fish, mashed potatoes, lobster bisque, and crab fried rice. Each dish was expertly prepared, and the flavors were simply divine. The yellowtail raw fish, in particular, was a revelation for me, and I even contemplated ordering the raw salmon to compare the two dishes, solidifying a perfect 5-star rating. As we enjoyed our meal, we were treated to delightful entertainment by a talented one-man band, who sang, played piano, and entertained us with his musical prowess. The musical group, Wild Cherry would be proud to say, "Play that funky music whiteboy!?!" His performance added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience, earning yet another 5-star rating. My final thoughts, I am immensely grateful to my son for introducing me to Truluck's Ocean Finest Seafood. I eagerly look forward to future visits, knowing that each time, I will be welcomed into the same enjoyable atmosphere that made this dining experience truly exceptional.Parking: The underground layout of parking is broken down into color codes. We traveled many level underground but had to navigate in the parking area to exit. Because you need a parking permit, we had to exit in the red area which brought us up several blocks away from the restaurant.“

“Bar Spero was exceptional. Far more a restaurant than a bar. Though drinks were also brilliant. The bartender Savi proved a knowledgable mixologist. If you enjoy mezcal I highly recommend the Dead Lady cocktail. The drink was smoky but well balanced and smooth enough to be dangerous. However, the drinks were only a prelude, the true fire of Bar Spero is the food. Our meal was a delightful, delicious, delectable multisensory feast.Everything was amazing from the cucumber, herb salad to the burnt cheese cake ice cream. However, my personal highlight was the seafood. I'd recently returned from a beach trip and assure you everything tasted catch of the day fresh. The raw oysters were some of the best I've had. The grilled octopus was sweet, tender and cooked to perfection, it's sauce, a squid ink reduction only emphasized the utter genius therein. Though all the seafood from Jonah Crab Rice to the Tuna Tostadas to the Ember Roasted Scallops were unforgettably delicious. The food could make a convert out of me and will out of you.Our server Blithe was personable, humorous and attentive, without hovering. Her table service was impeccable and she clearly loved her job. I was greeted and quickly seated. Kim the server was amazing, they have a pianist in the center of the restaurant who is very good.I had a Large crab cake which came with a creamy sauce as an appetizer. The taste of the crab cake was good, but the sauce really made it stand out.I then had their Maine lobster which you have the option to get with, or without Imperial. The lobster is cooked then the inner-side is removed and stuffed with crab cake and shrimp in addition to the lobster then is placed back into the shell. I thought about adding the sauce that came with my appetizer but was concerned it would take away the seafood flavor and make everything too soggy. Im glad I didnt and just added lemons and the butter that already came with it.Whenever I come back to DC this will be my spot and will look forward to trying out their steaks.“

“El Cielo made our Valentine’s celebration a memorable experience! I wanted to surprise my husband this year and the CCO, Pedro, was very helpful when it came to helping me with last minute reservations. The entire staff was friendly, eloquent, and very professional. My husband and I are both Spanish speakers (it is our mother tongue) and we loved interacting with the staff in Spanish (this made it so much more special to us). Now, as for the food. Let me just start by saying that when I told my husband what our dining experience would be like, he was very skeptical. He is an amateur fighter, and when he is not doing “fighting camps” he LOVES to eat. When we arrived he was already making plans to go eat arepas after, to finish filling his tummy. Needles to say, arepas did not happen after, as he was extremely full from all the courses. Each meal was beautifully presented, and tasted just as divine! We loved knowing what each meal represented and they are all a beautiful homage to Colombia. The atmosphere in El Cielo, is very cozy. The aesthetics of the restaurant itself makes you feel like you are eating at a friends house. From the decorations to the music. Y para terminar, usando las palabras de mi hermoso esposo después de finalizar nuestra cena “Parce, toda esta comida estaba tan rica que te hace sentir que estás en el cielo”. El Cielo, un nombre tan propio para este encantador lugar. Nuevamente, muchísimas gracias a todos por hacer, y ser parte, de esta experiencia única e inolvidable para nosotros. Hasta la próxima!“

Excellent flavors in both. My server was very kind and helpful. I splurged on the crunch bar dessert which was delightful! I will definitely return for another meal.“

“Really wish I could give this place a better rating! The people running the place were so nice and friendly — and it’s a great local establishment. Our rockfish sandwich was fine — but we had two catfish sandwiches, and the breading on both was just too salty. Maybe we got a bad batch, so I’m willing to give the place a second try!“

You can taste the heat from the scotch bonnet which at the time, was the most delicious and spiciest thing I had had ever. Today’s brought back those memories. We also ordered the chix curry and oxtail stew, which all came in perfectly made. This might just become our weekly lunches delivery staple!“

“Power brokers...Schmower brokers...That's the pricey nice Italian restaurant in Georgetown...Well then... The food better be great...It was excellent !Something Italian for everyone.Everything made fresh from scratch. The waitstaff were supreme!Gary Pagano and two assistant waitstaff attended our needs witha superfluous flair and a comfortable demeanor.Yes... It was pricey... but it was well worth it.We had appetizers, entrees, and dessert with wine and delectable cocktails...I highly recommend this classy little Italian restaurant. We really had an EXCELLENT experience !We smartly valet parked the car as we drove there ($20).We will definitely go back for another fun and fancy delicious night out.The only thing we would do different is NOT to request tap water (not tasty). One sip and we all avoided it.Not sure whether their water filter exists for water glasses.Bottled water is the only choice.Otherwise... Impeccable and excellent food, service, and overall experience !Cena eccellente !Parking: Right out front...“

“The fries and the lobster salad was pretty good, with the craisins in it. The man who I ordered from was nice enough to offer ranch dressing on the side after I told him that I do not like mayo. Even though I usually do not like mayo, I tried my mom's lobster roll and I completely regret not ordering it. The Connecticut Roll is pretty good, and the mayo isn't super bad. Hard-working, kind employees here. I hope to get over my fear of mayo, and try this place.Only thing I wish is that they bring the fish and chips back.“

“Behind the modest exterior, an immersive culinary journey awaits! Every foodie traveler enjoys 'the find' - a place you don't expect but allows you to join the curated journey of an exceptional chef and his team. Xiquet is one of DC's few true finds, tucked away in a small neighborhood but standing tall in the burgeoning DC dining scene. It is one of those rare places in an otherwise hypertensive town where time becomes ephemeral, and you can truly give in to enjoying artistry for its own sake and within its own parameters.Since Chef Danny changes his menu constantly, based on inspiration and availability of high quality ingredients, check their site for the latest, and definitely allow them to pair their wines, ports, vermouths, etc. to achieve 'peak flavour'.Our experience, a special occasion for my wife and me, was - to use one word - blissful! And equally importantly, relaxed - as visits to special places like Xiquet and its Michelin-starred siblings like Rose's Luxury, Jaunt and Inn at Little Washington should be.Make the time, take the time, and enjoy the journey!“
