“The meal was exquisite. The dishes were well presented, creative and delicious as well as showing upon rather generous, dare we say it, North American portions. Our server (and others passing) was/were fantastic but we did sit at the bar and not at a table. This was a choice that we consciously made because we were celebrating our 19th anniversary sans children. Intimacy. A few reviews complain about price or the lack of selections on the menu. All we can say is: post-COVID prices have gone up significantly but that is true for everything that we, as a community, consume today. It might be harder to stomach the price increases for discretionary expenses like a fancy meal. In any event, please do not expect 1980s or even 2019 prices. Secondly, yep, it is pricey, but it is worth every centime. The "limited" menu is what really good restaurants do, not to gouge you, but to spoil you with a core set of dishes that will tantalite the palate of almost every true gourmand. NUE hits the mark rather well. Finally, one kink in the armor, is how food is served today and how waitstaff interact with customers. Partly caused by the clash of generations, e.g., servers and the served may have 30 to 40 years between them, partly because due to COVID the new wave apparently did not get to learn from the OGs who did not return to the hospitality business sector, and is likely partly due to the pace of life in the DMV as practiced by folks with maybe too much money. That service process part needs to be ironed-out, but it is not just an issue at NUE, but at most, if not all, DMV fine food establishments. We, for one, will be back to NUE very soon. We just need to save up for it and we won't have to wait a year.“

“Our server was so pleasant and attentive. For our appetizer we got the calamari and it was some of the best I've ever had. Entrees were a bit hit or miss. The ribeye we ordered wasn't seasoned well, but the crabcake we got was the best I've ever had. Overall a great experience, though fairly pricey.“

“We found a Korean restaurant in an unusual location - inside an office building. At first glance, it looked more like a cafe in a hotel rather than a Korean restaurant. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the great taste of the food and the generous portions. The service was also good, and the place was clean and well-maintained.“

“It is a nice place to taste delicious Peruvian food, the attention is very good, very good service, everyone is very friendly. The only bad thing is having to share a table with pets. I believe in my opinion every living being should have its place and a restaurant should not be a place for pets (dogs ?) this weekend I had to share with one..I love pets...but in their proper place...“

“I recently discovered a hidden gem of a Thai restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, and it exceeded my expectations. Intrigued by the chef’s recommendation, I tried the Kuay Teaw Koow Gai, a delightful noodle dish. The flavors were exceptional, and if you’re seeking authentic Thai cuisine, I highly recommend this place for a delicious culinary experience.“

“Ordered shrimp garden rolls : they were pretty tasty. Little bit of wilted lettuce but good overall all. Fresh. A- Ordered shrimp fried rice : nothing special but good. C Ordered an everything pho (non seafood) : the soup came out Luke warm.. I was expecting a big bowl of "steamy" pho and received a bowl of disappointment... was sad.. D- Ordered the 76-86$seafood platter (forgot price) : Served on a huge tray. Again... food wasn't pipping hot as expected. Lobster was a tad bit rubbery. Shrimp were all small.. crab legs were average and both other crabs I ate were just ok.. meh. Everything was DRENCHED in garlic. I love garlic but damnnnn, I like to taste seafood too. Crawdads produce little meat. D Service was nice . A Overall sadly I will not be dining back at crabby noodles. Perhaps in a year or so I'll try again. "D" grade..“

“The owner was very helpful and gave wonderful customer service. He also gave feedback on what I was ordering. He also gave me several home made sauces that were delicious. All of the dishes I got were extremely delicious to my tastebuds. Thank you!“

“The tables could use a sand blast so they didn't feel sticky. Was amazed at the service and their bar cocktail skill. The menu has a beef up which is great too But at the end of the day, if my arm is gonna stick to the dinner table and if my napkin looks like it is used (with stains), it's hard to enjoy the food. We tried the clean catch. Let's just say don't buy wFish at a pub.. that's in me“

“My favorite place to get a seafood boil. Unlike other restaurants that pull out frozen premade bags from the freezer, their stuff is made fresh when you order. Great portions, affordable prices and flavorful and delicious food. I usually get take out so I can’t speak much about dining in but my pickup process is usually smooth, without any issues and quick.“

“I was traveling from out of town and this restaurant was recommended to us for take out, plus it was close to our hotel. I have to say I was impressed with the taste of the food! The Gen Taos Chicken was slammin! The crab rangoons were amazing! Great crunch and very creamy filling! Was not too impressed with the wanton soup. Only 3 wantons in pint of soup and they were very firm/dense. In addition, portions for entrees was very small for the price. Normally when I order Chinese food, you can share with others and that was not the case with their entrees. If you are hungry, it is just enough for one. They seemed more like a lunch size special at a dinner version price. This would have been a 5 star if not for the soup and the portion size.“

“I was impressed by the freshness of the Injera and the vegetarian platter. The wait staff was very polite but there were not enough servers. I would have preferred If food was more tasty. The alecha had only one sliver of a carrot with the rest of it was cabbage- Usually it has potato and carrot. The lentils/yellow peas didn’t seem to have Any spice at all. My friends enjoyed the beef Tibbs. Serving of injera was plentiful. The cappuccino was very nice and we enjoyed our time there.“

“Amazing Peruvian food. This place has plenty of seating and great service. Make sure you come here with an appetite otherwise you'll be leaving with plenty of leftovers (which is a good thing in my book). Their plates come with heavy portions and are definitely worth the price. Some dishes I believe you could split between two or more people. I've come here with my family and friends multiple times because their food is delicious. My go to is always the cau cau a la criolla because it's one of the few places that serves it. It's always seasoned perfectly and the texture is amazing. I've also tried their lomo saltado and jalea de mariscos which don't disappoint either. Every dish comes out with so much flavour. Their horchata is perfectly sweet as well. It might be overwhelming at first since they have a lot of options on their menu, but trust me anything you pick will be good.“

“We just moved to Virginia about a week ago and me and my husband were looking for a seafood restaurant. I personally am very picky with my seafood mainly because I have gotten sick before at other restaurants. But this place was beautiful the service was wonderful, they are very attentive! And cleanly! A family ate next to us and when they left, the staff wasted no time in getting that table cleaned up and ready for the next guests to be served. Oh yeah, our server even asked if there are any dietary restrictions, and that to me was the cherry on top! I know some people are allergic to shellfish, thankfully I’m not allergic but it’s the fact that they did ask. This place is wonderful and I believe everyone should experience a restaurant like this! We will definitely be returning!!“

“I give this place a 6.5/10! It was super busy, but surprisingly, we got seated after a 5 min wait (we only had two people though). But, my rating stands cause even though the food tasted great, it was slightly oily and some of the foods were cold and not even warm, so that kinda killed it for me ? Nonetheless, service was quick and they do the carts!!“

“There aren't that many places when it comes to dim sum in the area so Ill be rating the restaurant with that in mind:First off, parking is pretty big so it was pretty easy to find some. The wait time can get very long on the weekend(1hr+) so plan accordingly. Earlier is better. The food itself is pretty good. My go to items are Siu Mai, Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Ribs, Chicken Feet, Shrimp Noodles Roll and Turnip Cake. All the items are very good but occasionally the food is cold which happens. . Price-wise it's pretty reasonable for dim-sum so if you are looking for dim-sum this place will hit the spot.“

“Ellie Bird has been on our list to try since they opened. Like their sister restaurant Rooster & Owl, the menu is both refined and rustic, with an emphasis on small plates great for sharing. We went for dinner and ordered the bread basket, spring green salad, Vietnamese french onion soup, salted cod rangoons, pomelo larb, braised lamb shank and chocolate cake. The pineapple buns are a carry over from Rooster & Owl that I’d happily eat with every meal. The Vietnamese french soup is aptly named, a wonderful combination of richly aromatic braised oxtail broth reminiscent of a fabulous pho with the oniony, cheesy, crouton goodness of a classic french onion. The rangoons are a perfect execution of an American Thai staple and the pomelo larb burst with flavor. The lamb shank, expertly cooked and glazed, was easily split between the two of us and sat on a bed of herbaceous tabouleh.A delay in getting us to our seats at the chefs counter resulted in several comped plates throughout the meal and we were very grateful for the above and beyond. The asparagus and pine berry salad added to our starter course was a true delight, who knew they were such a good pair!I’ll be interested to see how the restaurant continues to evolve. While Rooster & Owl remains our go-to for special occasions, we will absolutely come back to Ellie Bird with friends and family in tow and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.“
