“From the moment we walked in, this was an exceptional dining experience. We ordered multiple plates, but the 22oz bone-in ribeye... It was absolutely heavenly--cooked to perfection, incredibly flavorful, and one of the best steaks I've had in a long time!

What truly made the evening memorable, though, was the outstanding service. Nadine and Kevin were wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and valued. Their hospitality made the experience feel special from start to finish.

And a special shoutout to Tek, who was hands down one of the best servers I've ever had. He was attentive, knowledgeable, personable, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. I'll definitely be requesting Tek as my server on future visits.

Not only the party and the staff, but the cuisine! ❤️ The appetizers (some of the freshest, delecate, perfectly prepared calamari), desserts (all amazing), main dishes (I had the salmon...yum!), but that salad dressing!!! It not only met but exceeded them. Mast-o Musir, yogurt dish with Persian dried shallot and rose petal, was exceptional— more elevated and nuanced than any we’ve had. The mushroom Khoresht stew with white truffle was another highlight, offering perfectly balanced flavors something hard to do with white truffles and a satisfying richness, complemented by the perfectly crunchy Tahdig, iconic golden rice crust. The braised lamb shoulder which Yacine suggested was the undeniable highlight of the meal I which each dish was excellent. Tender and flavorful, it was paired beautifully with texture. It’s a signature dish that rivals the best we’ve ever had, bringing to mind the legendary Bo Ssam pork shoulder from David Chang’s Momofuku— bold, unforgettable, and expertly prepared. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn’t quite match the lamb’s showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.“

Bartender was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Food was good, but some of the dishes didn't hit the mark.
The Parker House rolls were very good, warm, fluffy, and perfectly yeasty. The clam chowder was on point and very tasty. The spicy fried shrimp roll was excellent and easily split in two to share. Pimento crab dip was an unctuous blend of wonderful flavors and definitely worth the calories. Deviled eggs were heavy on the mustard, but still good.
The local MD raw oysters were not at the level I expected, they were blander and the liquor was waterier than I wanted. The stuffies were quite salty and the smoked flavor from the linguica overpowered the rest of the filling.
Overall, comfortable, nicely appointed place with great service, but the food was somewhat inconsistent.“
