“Always great food no matter when we go! And service is usually on point. After the first year of hype, we've never had a problem doing a walk-in and being seated without waiting more than five-ish minutes. However, I'd still recommend doing a reservation because you can pick your dining experience that way since Ellie Bird certainly has 4 zones of vibe. There is the bar, which has the most attentive service and I actually prefer it on weeknights, but it bumps into the waiting area and they don't really separate the two, so we've had weekend patrons reach between us while dining to order drinks while they wait for a table. The front dining room is buzzy, on theme, and what you probably are expecting if you haven't been here yet, but frequently need a reservation to get seated here. The kitchen counter seating is an interesting experience if you've never done something like that, but each time we've been there, the service has not been as attentative as the other zones. Finally there is the back dining room, which is where you are likely to get seated as a walk-in, especially on a relatively busy night. Don't fret, the food and service are just as good as the front room, but the ambiance is totally different. It feels like a lower tier restaurant back there.“

My sister's train into DC was wildly delayed so we pushed back our reservation, but still unfortunately arrived late, with only 30 mins before closing. We were starving and most other restaurants were closed. The WARMTH with which they greeted and ushered us in was wonderful. We made sure to order ASAP but they didn't make us feel rushed and they took incredible care of us, giving great recommendations and attentive care. We felt like old friends they were happy to have. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn’t quite match the lamb’s showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.“

“Stopped by Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls today and honestly, it’s a great spot if you’re craving a solid taste of Maine without actually driving north. The lobster roll itself was packed with sweet, tender meat and wasn't drowned in mayo, which I really appreciated. You can get it either traditional style with a little mayo or warm with butter, and both are delicious. The only reason I'm docking a star is that the portions feel just a tiny bit small for the price tag, and the seating area is pretty tight when it gets busy. Still, the quality is undeniable and the service was super friendly. I’ll definitely be back whenever the lobster craving hits again.“

“I don't go to Rio often but found myself having to go to a store there and decided to walk over to Mason's to try out their Lobster Rolls because I've been on a Lobster Roll kick this summer. The Lobster Roll here was pretty delicious and tasty. I ordered the Connecticut roll with a side of Cape Cod chips and a can of Coke. It didn't take too long and looked really nice. I'd def say it was one of the better Lobster Rolls I've had this year and I'd def come back if I found myself at Rio again. Service was good and quick and the place was clean.“

“Xiquet by Danny Lledo has worked very hard to earn its Michelin standing, and it shows in every aspect of the meal. Each dish is carefully crafted to give you an equally beautiful and delicious sample of a different Spanish cuisine.

First, the presentation of each dish. You receive a cardstock card with every single entree, giving you an overview of the dish, the primary ingredients, a backstory for why it matters to the chef. It is an awesome way to enhance the dining experience and give each small element stand out even more. There is also a sentimental element with some of the them, making it feel like an invitation into the upbringing of the genius who put all the food together.

To make the whole process even more engaging, each of the plates is so meticulously crafted that they feel like art. I sat and admired most of the dishes that crossed my path just to appreciate how intricately they were put together and repurposed otherwise simple ingredients. It’s truly entertaining to see new variations on dishes you think you know, and with such beauty.

Things are made all the more enjoyable by the constant clash between a traditional tapa and the inventive nature of the chef, giving you a blend of new flavors and the classic taste you expect from Spanish cuisine. Each dish just puts a smile on your face and makes you appreciate the finer flavors in life. It’s clear that all the ingredients are top of the line im quality, and carefully curated.

Finally, the service and actual dining experience. The upper area is in a beautiful room with a great view on a glass encased kitchen. It is very welcoming and super entertaining to see the chefs hard at work in the kitchen to see how everything comes together. The service was fantastic as well, with super knowledgable and friendly wait staff. I really appreciated how much they were just as excited for their customers to enjoy the meals as I was.

Overall, Xiquet is an incredible dining experience that is well deserving of its designation. I would save this one for a special occasion, as it definitely hurts the bank, but you will surely have an unforgettable dinner. Thanks to Danny for an awesome night.“

Took our drink orders then didn't see him to place our dinner order for over 30 minutes. The table next to us - the server spoke VERY loudly. ( couldn't tell if the guests were older and hard of hearing). It was as if he was sitting with us at our table and speaking in a loud voice. Extremely annoying throughout our dinner. One steak was cooked well beyond medium. But for as long as we waited for our entree course, we didn't complain. Just not our usual experience at this restaurant.“
