They were very generous with a champagne toast, a special tuna tartare anniversary presentation, and a special celebratory dessert! Of course, we topped it off with their signature mini-desserts of key lime pie and the cheesecake & caramel. Each of our courses was superb - from the appetizer of the charcuterie board, to the lobster bisque soup, and the excellent wood-grilled filet mignon made perfectly to my wife's and my liking! “I understand that it is incredibly challenging for a manager to determine the appropriate time to ask extremely loud patrons to pipe down a bit. The bar area was extremely loud with women who were frequent after-work guests squealing with the bartender who knew them and also with their friends and co-workers. That's understood and those customers usually filter out and don't stay too late. However, in the main dining room, there was a family of about 7-8 who had two inebriated women at their table who were so loud, and the group was there for so long, that it made me uncomfortable for ALL of the diners. Capital Grille is a wonderful dining experience and the bill for our group of four was several hundred dollars. For that level of experience I would expect that the setting would be comfortable. *Our server was extremely professional and friendly. The food was wonderfully prepared and top quality as to be expected at Capital Grille.“

“Today my husband and I had the opportunity to dine at Fleming. The staff was AMAZING! Matt, the manager was on top of every request, need, and want. As soon as anyone in the restaurant needed anything, we witnessed him assisting the service staff to make sure that it was done immediately. He is the type of manager that people dream of! Wish he were on my team. Luis was our server and was great! He was on top of our every need, was attentive, and easily on of the best servers I've ever had. To round out the team, Juan was behind Luis with any additional support that we needed. Quiet professional with great service; Quick, fast, and in a hurry. The ambiance of the restaurant is hard to find in DC. It was quiet enough for a one on one conversation, but energetic enough to make sure that we were not bored. The food was top notch! My stomach hurts because I should have tapped out 15 minutes ago but the food was too good to stop. I'd recommend the Leviathan wine and tomahawk steak. We are big eaters and could not finish our salads and soup, steak, or desserts! My husband highly recommends the French onion soup, Mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts. “We visited Dauphine’s for our wedding anniversary, and while the food and service were largely impressive, management’s staffing choices held the evening back from perfection.

The savory dishes were exceptional. The bread service and boudin balls were delicious starters, followed by a perfectly cooked catfish Creole and a rabbit tagliatelle that was expertly al dente. For dessert, the carrot toffee pudding special offered a great salty-sweet balance.

Our server, Adrian, was the highlight of the night. He provided excellent service despite being put in an impossible position by management as the only server for the entire upstairs area. While it was Easter Sunday and understandably busy, leaving one person to juggle that many tables is unacceptable. This lack of support led to significant wait times, especially when trying to order dessert.

The experience was capped off by a few misses: the bourbon slush was underwhelming, and the beignets were disappointing—dense and chewy rather than light and airy.

Adrian deserves a raise for his hard work, but management needs to staff appropriately so the service can match the high quality of the kitchen. A solid 4 stars for a lovely anniversary meal that just needed better pacing.“

The Happy Hour, which starts at 1PM (yes, you read that correctly) has insanely low prices, and the "pour" on both glasses of wine and cocktails are unmatched. “This restaurant, since it opened, has been one of the most consistently excellent in the entire WDC area, and a favorite of mine. The oysters are the best available, the wine list is outstanding and quite international, and the food is always cooked to perfection--but it is expensive, just plan on that. I had Chilean seabass (very $$$) and my guest had a salad (all of their salads are original and terrific) and their wonderful New England clam chowder (which could use a bit more bacon, as another restaurant in town does....) And this is the only restaurant in Washington where I ALWAYS have dessert, their mini-triple creme brulees -- superb! Finally, we had a new waiter, Alex, who was simply the best, most knowledgeable and thoughtful I've experienced in Washington this year. Amazing, keep him!“

“Was SUPERB. I have personally never had Filipino food so I didn’t know what to expect, and wow. Our server was the cutest woman, who was extremely attentive and remembered everyone’s orders and placement. She really has an incredible detail orientated memory. The food was incredible. The flavors in each dish were top notch. I had leftover tofu and mushrooms the next day and I’m sad I didn’t have more after that. Such a quaint little spot but it PACKS a punch. The owner, Steve, is so personable and you can tell he genuinely cares about his business. I also loved how he hyped up his staff, you can tell they’re appreciated. The food though… wow. The brown butter lobster roll was seriously amazing! The soft, flavorful bread and the lobster was so buttery and sweet. I’ve had lobster rolls before (even at the beach), and this one honestly beats them. The fried fish melts in your mouth and the truffle fries are addicting. My family and I left so impressed. The food was incredible, and Steve’s kindness just made it even better. He even shared how to make one of their sauces at home, which was such a nice gesture. So again, thank you Steve and staff for an amazing dinner & becoming our go-to seafood spot. An attentive but not overly so waiter gave us the specials and answered some questions before giving us some time to decide. The house oysters were crisp, cool and delicious. “What an experience! I came from Alabama on a work trip. My fellow employees and I were trying to find a seafood restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant on a Wednesday. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal! One of the managers, Phil, ensured that the requested tv channel was on and continued to check in to make sure our meals and drinks were tasty. I actually haven’t been here in a quite a while, but this time I came for dinner with my mom, my husband and my son (6 months old). “We went here while on vacation in DC. Did a reservation in advance. We have 3 people in our group. We ordered calamari for appetizer. A couple of us ordered a 4 course meal for $60/person, and 1 ordered salmon with shrimp.
Firts order: steak salad, mashed potatoes, 6 oz filet with 3 shrimps on top, and cheese cake.
Second order: ceasar salad, brussels sprouts, 6 oz filet with 3 shrimps on top, and chcolate cheese cake.
Third order: grilled salmon with shrimp and spinach.
The steak (Medium well) was melting in our mouths. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned, mashed potatoes was very creamy, the spinach complimented the salmon so well, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The calamari was crunchy, but we did not like the sweet sauce.“

It seemed he was the only brunch server today and he managed to keep that smile even though things didn't seem to work well with the kitchen. Great place/environment/food. I tried the crab omelet as he suggested although I got addicted with the short rib omelet here. Keep it up!
