“You have got to ask for Jay Kim, he is the best server in the house. He was patient and ever so helpful with us as first time hot potters. I had a vegetarian hot pot, well, except for the dumplings. Although they have no vegetarian options, he worked with me and provided me with an alternate option. It would be more awesome for them to add it to their menu tho for those of us who just love veggies. The broth is vegetarian based so it makes sense to have a vegetarian option along with it. We had a party of 8 and Jay Kim made it so much fun!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. One other option that would have been great to have would be fresh ginger at the sauce bar and mushrooms on the vegetable plate. We were all pleasantly pleased with our food. The ambiance is very nice, low light but more than enough to cook and enjoy each other's company. Jay Kim made sure we always had what we needed. The sauce bar was amazing, so many choices. I recommend making a few bowls, some for the broth and and some for dipping your cooked food. If you get any type of meat, also make a sauce to marinade the meat. You don't have to but it made a good difference. Meats are thinly sliced for quick cooking and again,so fresh. The price was worth the amount of food and the experience. There is an all you can eat option or an a la carte option where you just get one meat selection and a vegetable plate which was more than enough for us as a party of young ladies. This was a great first hot pot experience and I definitely recommend it, just make sure to ask for Jay Kim. I know you will enjoy it!!!“

“The best lobster roll I've had in a long time! Now I understand why people say the roll is as important as the lobster. 10/10 I also had a crab cake which was good. Surprisingly, the coated fries were great! As a French fry purist, I have never said that before. Cannot go wrong with the hush puppies. Finished my meal with coffee and cheesecake. The friendly staff made this a memorable visit. I can't wait to come back.“

“Always great food no matter when we go! And service is usually on point. After the first year of hype, we've never had a problem doing a walk-in and being seated without waiting more than five-ish minutes. However, I'd still recommend doing a reservation because you can pick your dining experience that way since Ellie Bird certainly has 4 zones of vibe. There is the bar, which has the most attentive service and I actually prefer it on weeknights, but it bumps into the waiting area and they don't really separate the two, so we've had weekend patrons reach between us while dining to order drinks while they wait for a table. The front dining room is buzzy, on theme, and what you probably are expecting if you haven't been here yet, but frequently need a reservation to get seated here. The kitchen counter seating is an interesting experience if you've never done something like that, but each time we've been there, the service has not been as attentative as the other zones. Finally there is the back dining room, which is where you are likely to get seated as a walk-in, especially on a relatively busy night. Don't fret, the food and service are just as good as the front room, but the ambiance is totally different. It feels like a lower tier restaurant back there.“

“What an experience! I came from Alabama on a work trip. My fellow employees and I were trying to find a seafood restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant on a Wednesday. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal! The owner, Steve, is so personable and you can tell he genuinely cares about his business. He made an effort to talk to us (even our 4-year-old), which was really sweet and made the whole experience feel more personal. I also loved how he hyped up his staff, you can tell they’re appreciated. The food though… wow. The brown butter lobster roll was seriously amazing! The soft, flavorful bread and the lobster was so buttery and sweet. I’ve had lobster rolls before (even at the beach), and this one honestly beats them. The fried fish melts in your mouth and the truffle fries are addicting. My family and I left so impressed. The food was incredible, and Steve’s kindness just made it even better. He even shared how to make one of their sauces at home, which was such a nice gesture. So again, thank you Steve and staff for an amazing dinner & becoming our go-to seafood spot. “When my Wife & I arrived we truly were not expecting a 1st Class treatment. From the Hostess to almost every waiter & waitress all greeting us & telling us to enjoy was amazing. Everyone one was warm, polite, & kind.

The environment was very welcoming & our waitress made both my wife & I feel at home. She explained the menu for both food & drink very well to us & we got some very nice mocktails (a plus since not many restaurants offer non-alcoholic beverages).

The food was amazing, fresh seafood pasta & great risotto. We will definitely be back not just for the food but the great hospitality.

Parking was also very nice where it was not crowded on the street but they also are next to a Parking Garage.

“Stopped by Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls today and honestly, it’s a great spot if you’re craving a solid taste of Maine without actually driving north. The lobster roll itself was packed with sweet, tender meat and wasn't drowned in mayo, which I really appreciated. You can get it either traditional style with a little mayo or warm with butter, and both are delicious. The only reason I'm docking a star is that the portions feel just a tiny bit small for the price tag, and the seating area is pretty tight when it gets busy. It’s a signature dish that rivals the best we’ve ever had, bringing to mind the legendary Bo Ssam pork shoulder from David Chang’s Momofuku— bold, unforgettable, and expertly prepared. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn’t quite match the lamb’s showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.“
