“I’ve been coming to Suny Sushi since they first opened, and it is — and probably always will be — my favorite sushi spot. The fish is so fresh and the sushi rolls are AMAZING. The owners are incredibly kind, and so is the entire staff. They even gift me miso soup sometimes (I come like once every two weeks haha).

I seriously recommend this place. It’s not too expensive at all, and the quality is just amazing.

“My girlfriend and I went for her birthday and they already had a card prepared for her when we got there because I selected birthday under the event tab in our reservation. It's a tad pricier than some other sushi restaurants in the neighborhood but I think that's acceptable given the quality of fish and that you get way more rolls. “The night before the Marine Corps Marathon, we celebrated our anniversary dinner with family and relatives at Satay Club, a cozy Malaysian restaurant tucked in the heart of Washington DC. I’m always on the lookout for authentic flavors — and this place truly impressed us with every bite.

We started our feast with their signature Satay — both chicken and lamb. Perfectly grilled with smoky charred edges, the skewers were tender and flavorful, complemented beautifully by the rich, nutty peanut sauce. It felt like a taste of Kuala Lumpur in DC!

Next came the salted fish fried rice, aromatic and full of wok hei (that irresistible smoky aroma). The balance of savory salted fish, soft egg, and crisp vegetables made it comfort food at its best. The calamari dish was crispy on the outside and tender inside, served with colorful bell peppers and crunchy shallots — a delightful mix of texture and spice.

We also loved the tofu and eggplant stir-fry, which came in a deliciously savory sauce — rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. To end the evening, we indulged in ice chendol and fried banana, a sweet and refreshing finish that brought nostalgic memories of Southeast Asia.

Also highly recommend the walu with wasabi pickle, spicy tuna roll, house roll, hamachi belly, mushroom miso soup. The staff are wonderful, too. “We love Beijing Tokyo and come here (or order delivery) at least once a month! My personal favorites are the Beef Sticks and Jumbo Shrimp in Creamy Sauce — so good every time. “I've gotten take-out from here several times. I've tried several ramen dishes, sushi, and the grilled mixed veggies. All scrumptious!

My husband and I dined in for the first time today, and we were both very impressed with the atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Hayden was our server, and he showed exemplary hospitality skills. He made us feel welcome, checked in on us frequently without feeling overbearing, and made sure we knew the AYCE menu is double-sided.

Speaking of, the AYCE is such a great deal! I used to live in Vegas, where AYCE sushi is very common. Unfortunately, for most of them, since the focus is on quantity, the quality suffers. This is not the case for Toryumon! Maybe it's because it isn't strictly an AYCE place. You can absolutely order items a-la-carte from their regular menu (as I had done previously for take-out). The items are exactly the same whether you order from the regular menu or the AYCE. Same quality, and, this is important, same size! Yes, you will receive a FULL-SIZED bowl of ramen if you order it from the AYCE menu.

Not all of the menu items have descriptions, and I was surprised by some of them (not in a bad way, just wasn't what I was expecting), such as:

The avocado salad. I was expecting it to be cubes/chunks of avocado tossed with a dressing. What came out was a lettuce salad with sliced avocado on top. The dressing was good, slightly sweet. It was a good salad, just not at all what I was expecting.

The sweet potato sushi roll is served warm, the sweet potato is deep fried, and there is eel sauce on top. The sweet potato rolls I had other places were not fried, and served cold. I really enjoyed this one!

Everything seemed very fresh, not a hint of wilting greens or brown avocado to be seen!

I am so grateful to live right down the road from this amazing establishment. If you enjoy ramen, sushi, and other Japanese items, def give them a try!

The chicken karaage is a personal favourite — crispy, juicy, and dangerously moreish. The mini salad deserves a shout-out too; that dressing? Chef’s kiss. I regularly go for the chicken yaki soba or the beef teriyaki, both beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and consistently spot on. Add gyoza as a starter and you’re winning at life. The staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive — the kind of place where you feel remembered, not processed. Every time I’m back in Fairfax County, this is the place we go. “I went here for my birthday for the first time. I ordered the unagi don that was very delicious honestly 10/10. My family told our waitress it was my birthday and they gave me this adorable balloon rose, along with 2 slices of cake( one small cheesecake slice with yuzu, and a chocolate chestnut cake).

The cheesecake was lovely and I’m sure the chocolate one was too but I refrained since I’m allergic to tree nuts. The presentation of the dishes looked elegant and the food came out at a good time. Even if it took more time I wouldn’t mind since all the food was delicious. We came in around 2 and it was somewhat empty which I appreciated. The staff was very kind and gave us a complimentary appetizer of sweet potato tempura.“

Surprisingly, the Chirashi Salad Bowl and the Sashimi Combo were fresh and flavorful. Initially, I thought the Chirashi Bowl might be too small for one person, but it was just the right portion. However, considering its price, I found the Sashimi Combo to be relatively small. For those who prefer to dine in, there is a shared seating area in the center of the food court accessible to all the eateries.“

The wait was a bit long due to it being busy but I got seated within 10 minutes. The service was pretty good but the sashimi came 25 minutes after I ordered it. The food overall pretty good and the sushi rolls arrived within 5 minutes of ordering them. The staff were also pretty attentive.“
