“I had a really good experience here. I ordered California rolls and the food was fresh and tasted really good overall. Everything was prepared pretty quickly even though it seemed busy.
The staff was friendly which I appreciated. I had a small issue with my order since the cucumber was missing from the rolls but they handled it well when I reached out.
Overall it is a solid sushi place and I would come back again.“

“Excellent service. They made our valentines day. We took a chance and dropped in hoping for a seat at the bar which initially looked like it wouldn't happen. Timing and a great manager and hostess made it happen. Takoyaki and dumplings were superb. We loved the lychee martinis. The speakeasy vibe downstairs is quaint and welcoming. We definitely plan to come back. Thankyou for the wonderful memory. 💖“

“Ordered Chicken Ramen from Sushi Jin Next Door. Which IS kind next door to me. Next time I should just pick up. On the other hand it got to me quick. It was well protected and the broth tasted good even before I added it to the bowl. All of it was good, lots of chicken, and was not just tasty but it reminded me a little of good old fashion chicken soup. So kind of comforting. Came with napkins, fork, spoon, wooden chopsticks - or are they hashi?
Update - odered Tempura Udon. It was delivered quickly and well packed. Very good, loved the thick chewly noodles, but they did use the same broth. Still good though!“

“Can’t recommend this place enough!! It’s definitely our favorite sushi spot in town. A great quality for a great price and the nigiri pieces are massive. We usually get the sushi deluxe sampler with a little bit of everything. 1000% check this out if you’re a sushi fiend like myself. (Promise I’m not a bot lol)“

“Hinata Sushi Bar & Grill is conveniently located in Old Town Alexandria and is a great choice whether you’re in the mood for sushi, hibachi, or a combination of both. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed with complimentary soup, salad, and water, all of which were fresh and flavorful.
I visited around noon for lunch and was seated immediately. The restaurant was fairly quiet, which made for a relaxing dining experience. Service was exceptionally fast, and the staff was attentive throughout my visit.
The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki, which was $23. While it may be slightly higher priced than some alternatives, the quality, convenient location, and free parking make it well worth the cost.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return in the future. If you’re looking for quality Japanese cuisine in Old Town Alexandria, Hinata Sushi Bar & Grill is worth checking out.“

“Our family and relatives went on Memorial Day. This is a restaurant my cousin recommended that is five minutes from her home - she and her husband goes at least once a week. Absolutely understood why it's their favorite restaurant: perfect food, perfect service - the owner himself was there helping us order food that each member family would love. Only wish we lived closer!“

“This is one of the best Japanese steakhouses I have ever been to. I have been to a handful but this place has always been my home. I have been coming to this place since I was a child and before the new owners. It has yet to disappoint me with anything. Atmosphere is always great and the food is even better. I miss Kawasaki because he would do the craziest things like throw an onion from across the room for a free meal (which I caught) some of the best memories of mine have come from here. I 100% suggest if you haven’t had hibachi before.

“We have been coming here for about 3 years now and not once have we had a bad experience. The staff is attentive and friendly. The menu has a variety of Asian food from Vietnamese to Thai to Japanese. So its a great place to come if you have a group of people with different palletes. I also love the calm ambience and dim lights accompanied with bossa nova music covers that are always playing!

“Solid choice for a mix between quality, price, speed, and convenience. You're not gonna get the ultimate quality in Japanese sushi or hibachi, but it's consistent and good enough, especially value meals and app deals. Services isn't rapid, but fast enough to order, stand there for a bit, and grab your food and leave. There are tables but more on the fast-food style of seating/service.“
