“Everything I've had is really good! And I like they have fountain Pepsi products.I would recommend the fries, cooked as soon as you order them; the mac n cheese; brisket (wet); pulled chicken; jalapeno and cheese sausage; the cheesy potatoes; and baked beans. And only those because I haven't gotten to more of the menu. yet.”
“Had a belated birthday celebration with my brother and sister-in-law & everything was wonderful. Our waiter Elliott was great & the food was delicious - the Bourbon Chicken Brioche that I had was fantastic! Thank you Ramparts, for being a wonderful "corner bar".”
“Burton's Grill & Bar went beyond my greatest expectations. We just moved to the area and I notice it had excellent reviews the last time I checked it. We came here - our first time - spur of the moment this past Thursday. I was expecting a restaurant similar to Ruby Tuesday or Applebees, yet it was very different. I have worked in the food and customer service industry as a server, prep cook, and hostess in five star restaurants, so I am very wary of restaurants and food places in general - even five star restaurants.Superlative customer service, good hygiene in food preparation & cooking, and exceptionally delicious food are of the utmost importance to me. It appears Burton's staff & our server, Daniel, exceeded our expectations exponentially - more than any restaurant we have went to in this area. Prices are fair and well priced. We didn't eat the more expensive entrees on the menu, yet we will try them in the future especially when they serve my favorite soup, French onion soup.Ambience is industrial interior with exposed bricks and pipes. Very well designed. The seating area was clean. We had the whole area in a corner to ourselves and privacy. The ambience and food appeared too fancy and expensive to my husband. Yet we spent the same amount of money or more in other restaurants in this area. To me it was a more elevated and exceptional restaurant than the others in food quality and service. The kitchen of the restaurant and the food preparation from the staff were visible for everyone to see that the food was properly cooked. I prefer restaurants to be that way.The hostess (long hair attractive brunette lady ) and Daniel immediately served us, addressed any allergy or food issues we might have, and were very professional & courteous. They both made excellent recommendations for our lunch. Water in a glass carafe and glasses were presented to us on the table, and it was very refreshing.Daniel walked us through the menu meticulously and how the food was prepared fresh. His attention & answers to our questions and the food on the menu were well thought and addressed. I could tell he was knowledgeable and familiar with the menu.He even refilled my drink without having to be asked for a refill. It is rare to get such service from a server. There were many new and exciting appetizers and entrees we wanted to try. The sandwiches were both our preferences that day with a salad and parmesan truffle fries. We upgraded to Parmesan truffle fries, and I exchanged my French fries for a salad with a mustard vinaigrette. It cost 75 cents to upgrade the French fries and $3 extra for a big salad as a side. The bread appetizer came with the three different elements - butter & dipping sauces- herbed butter, pesto sauce, and a tapenade. It was delicious. Our lunch entrees came out with little wait time. Daniel made sure we had extra condiments and that our food met our satisfaction. We were accidentally served regular fries instead of the parmesan truffle fries. It was efficiently resolved in a timely manner. We loved our meals and made plans to come back in the future and bring family & friends there. Everything we couldn't eat was placed in containers and placed in a nice takeout bag.Daniel, also, informed us of the Burton's free app and walked me through in getting points & perks for our meals on the app. You get $25 for every $300 you spend in Burton's. He made sure to get us our points that day on the app.Overall, the finest dining experience we had so far in a restaurant and a place to have future dining experiences. Yes we had some hiccups yet they were resolved efficiently and no delays. It still did not detract the high quality of the ambience, food, and service.”
“After tax and tip, breakfast for 3 was $89.... at a "take a number and seat yourself" coffee shop/bakery.... my other qualm was that on the website they have an "all day menu" but when we got there we were told they were only serving brunch. So all day menu but only on certain days? Maybe I misread. They forgot to bring our coffees when they said they would run it to us and they forgot our croissant with the food. But everyone that worked there was pretty friendly! And the place was really clean. I got the Cubano. It was okay. I understand why it was $20, I got a half a loaf of french bread with a pound of pork. It was ok. Menu advertised herb ham on it but it was more like a maple ham. Weird. Mom liked her brioche french toast, it was good. The lox on toast was okay. Kinda wish the toast was actually crispy. Its not bad but I have zero desire to return after spending almost $90 for breakfast. I get it this place is new so hopefully they round out some of these kinks. With how expensive it is I expect things to be a bit tighter.”
“Wow. What a gem. First time here, won't be my last. Beautiful interior. Food was delish. So happy to have a unique and beautiful Greek resturant in Kingstowne. Can't wait to try all the menu items.”

“Douglas the owner is so attentive and makes sure everyone feels at home here. From the moment we walked in it was a welcoming environment. Great margaritas and great food. Highly recommend the sangria-rita!”
“Came here during our recent Virginia trip and was delighted to discover this place for a late lunch! We ordered a two meat platter with two sides. We ordered an extra side of sweet potato mash. The meats were flavorful and both sweet potatoes and coleslaw tasted freshly made. The cornbread and piece of toast were unfortunately dry but everything else was good! Even the array of sauces they have on the side!”
“Good Southern Italian specialties, Northern Italian poorly represented on menu. The non-pasta specialties of the kitchen were very good. Clean dining room, but not a romantic hot spot.”

“I worked with Amparo to design personalized cookies for my photography studio Christmas mini session event. Each cookie had the child's name on them and they were adorable!! The kids and parents loved them!”
“I went there for a second time with my family to celebrate a birthday and the food and customer service was amazing. Ivan has been our server the two visits and he goes above and beyond to ensure our visit is one of a kind. Ivan was very friendly and knowledgeable of all the menu. He kept checking on us to make sure everything we needed was being met. Highly recommend this restaurant and please ask for Ivan when visiting as he will make sure your visit turns out to be an outstanding one.”
“Chris was good. I did however feel as though he was impatient just a bit and not too enthusiastic. Due to it being a busy day, I get but don’t let that show in front of customers. (Be Professional or don’t work in customer service - just saying, applies to everyone) The food and drinks were phenomenal and came out in a timely manner. The other staff and i think the manager who was a asian female provide a warm comfortable environment.”
“Wonderful time at Evening Star! Haven't been in years and so happy to be back. Lively yet also cozy atmosphere. Food was delicious: Outstanding steak frites. Great drinks. Malted chocolate mousse was amazing.”
“Great customer service, tasty food, and very vibrant. We love coming here! It would be even better if they had more than one more server in charge of all the tables. But again, they make it work.”

“The best food ever! I went here a few months ago and had one of their specials at the time. The food was so good I could eat it everyday. The nice lady who was serving us was wonderful. She kept checking in on us to make sure everything was going good. The actual place was well decorated and you could see the chefs cooking your food. I loved this place so much and will be going back.”
“Full disclosure: Five Guys is not my favorite burger. But it's reliable and easy and inexpensive to feed a whole family. Compared to other Five Guys', this one is fast and the service was friendlier.Parking: It's a bit tricky to get into because the main roadway traffic moves fast, and there is a barricade if you want to come in through the side road. But there are plenty of spaces.”

“I recently had the French toast at Bread and Water Company and it was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked with a golden brown crust and a soft, fluffy interior. The French toast was served with a side of maple syrup and fresh berries, which added a nice touch of sweetness. The atmosphere at Bread and Water Company is cozy and inviting, with a charming rustic decor. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent. In addition to the French toast, I also tried some of their other menu items and they were all fantastic. The quality of the food and the attention to detail really sets Bread and Water Company apart.Overall, I highly recommend Bread and Water Company to anyone looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot. The French toast alone is worth the visit!”
“Our first time at this place and my partner and I really enjoyed it. We got the four cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup, breakfast croissant, and a blueberry banana muffin. All delicious, especially with added avocado on the mound of grilled cheeeeeeeese.”

“This is a gem of a restaurant in Alexandria. It’s a very small but cozy restaurant inside. I ordered carry out which was easy to do with their website and the food was ready quickly, packaged neatly, and steaming hot. The food tasted absolutely amazing!! I had the egg drop soup, egg roll, and crispy beef. I would hands down order this again.”

“I love this Five Guys location, we came here aster the Scottish parade. The free peanuts are always a hit. My Jr cheeseburger came with everything and I added jalapeños and hot side. Can't forget the fries which are typically dumped overflowing into the bag to your delight. I find the burgers are a good portion and the Cajun fries taste amazing.”

Chef Huang's
“I can't stress enough how perfect the food was cooked and how kind the staff is. I ordered a hot garlic shrimp dish and my wife had the almond chicken. Both dishes were great. The hand rolled spring and egg rolls were great too. We will definitely be going back as soon as we can.”
“Meal evaluation compared to price. It's a really great restaurant. One of the best sandwiches you can enjoy under $20. The Vietnamese baguettes taste better than most breads I've tried in Paris, France, and the Vietnamese coffee is also highly recommended. Even if it's cold, iced coffee is recommended. For the banh mi sandwich, grilled fork is recommended. It tastes really crazy. It's too clean and doesn't ruin your taste buds with too much sauce.”
“Nondescript restaurant in old town that serves excellent Japanese food. Small and intimate, the staff were conversational and friendly. I had the prie fixe with sashimi, lamb chop, sea bass and dessert. Price is reasonable for quality of food. Will return if in town.”

“I was looking forward to going here and the pad Thai was ok. I wouldn’t order it again. It was sweet and no spice at all. The cocktails were great, but pricey. I will some other items on the menu next time.”

“They accommodated us running a little late for our reservation due to traffic. The tables are extremely close together which was odd but they make it work. The server had recommendations for new wines and cocktails. The food was amazing. We had the Crab & Avocado toast 10/10; Jumbo Crabcake 9/10; Fish Sandwich 10/10. The Caramel Apple Benigets were mouth-watering good. Everything makes me want to go back and try other dishes and drinks.”
“Great views, excellent food, and Top notch service! ? just a reminder weekends and holidays can be packed at times. Call ahead to check seating availability times.”
“Great food but staff is very overwhelmed by the level of people during peak brunch hours. They are nice but definitely need help. Prices are on par for del ray but on this occasion it definitely didn't feel like a del ray experience. Will be back at a different time/ day to see if this is just a Sunday brunch issue.”
“great staff. great food. you will not be disappointed. family of four. steaks. crabcakes. burger. you cannot go wrong here. food is wood grilled and the staff are exceptional.”
“Love the food from this restaurant. The quality of their food is better than some other restaurants charging twice the price. We get the bulgogi, spicy pork, mandoo, and fried chicken. We get the soy chicken because their hot chicken is too hot for me but go for it if you can handle it.”
“JP is literally the best waiter! Cannot brag enough about his service. The tiramisu is the best I've ever had. The sangria is fantastic, the meatball eggs benedict a star, and nonna's sunday gravy a hearty bowl of awesomeness.”
“Husband and I came here for lunch, surprisingly quiet and the food was phenomenal. We had the seasonal lassi (mango) drink, momo dumplings (half chicken and half lamb), brussel sprouts, garlic naan, and the himali chicken curry.First, the lassi. Creamy, delish, and packed full of mango flavor. A perfect start to lunch and whet our appetite for the rest of the meal. The momo dumplings came out next with a spiced tomato/cilantro sauce on the side. The chicken was good and the lamb was delightful - paired excellently with the sauce. We ordered the brussels for some extra veg but they turned out to be very tasty, roasted in oil, garlic, and onion. The naan was more crispy than I am used to but was still scrumptious, topped with a heaping of green onion and cilantro. The chicken curry was delicious - chicken extremely tender and cut into perfect mouthfuls. And the sauce was smooth and spiced perfectly.Overall 10/10 experience, I can't wait to come back later and try out the yak dishes!”
“First time to Del Ray Cafe at the suggestion of my daughter. We had to wait about 5 minutes for brunch. Service was excellent food was outstanding! Thanks Del Ray Cafe!”
“RT's is a neighborhood treasure. I have been going off and on for years but have been twice in 2 weeks because the flavors are amazing. The crab and crawfish imperial is to die for. I wanted to try something different last night but could not imagine watching someone else enjoy my favorite dish. The she crab soup could use a bit of lump crab for texture but was good. Everything coming from the kitchen looked amazing. Can't wait to go back again.”
“I’ve been to old town a couple of times, but I only happened to check out this cool and chill bar a few weeks ago. They got a cool Christmas tree at the front door. I ordered a drink that comes with an unique flavor. The bartender was super nice, and I was amazed by the decor and atmosphere.”
“Words cannot describe how incredible the food is. So many flavors and flavor combinations we had no idea were possible. Even one of my friends who is not an adventurous eater enjoyed everything.”

“I cannot say enough good things about this place. I come here all the time because the food is great quality and delicious. The people working there are always kind and welcoming. And the atmosphere is so chill. I go there often to work on a writing project or to catch up with a good friend. I like to sit next to the warm fire place and eat a bowl of soup. I have been to the Old Town location and this one in Kingstowne. I have to say this one in Kingstowne is much better for a variety of reasons. So please support this location with your business. It is a great place to chill so I would hate to see it ever dissapear.”
24 Hour Restaurants
“It’s been awhile but I was impressed,With inflation being what it is prices have been going up and quantity has been going down. I found that although prices were up at Denny’s since my last visit the quality and quantity remained the same. The service was superb and I would highly recommend this place for a good breakfast.”
“Very reasonable diner food for a 24-hour diner. I went at almost 2:00 a.m. and it was fine. I can see how they stayed in business for so long and opened so many branches. The chilli was good, and the burger really hit the spot.”
“Bob and Edith’s has really good food. I especially like the fish platter, chocolate chip hot cakes, and eggs with corned beef hash. It’s a great place to go at any time of the day, but especially breakfast. Very polite and professional servers. Food does take a little time, but it is worth the wait.”
“Enjoyed my meal very much! The pancakes were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Elmer the manager served me that day and was just a pleasure interacting with him! I definitely recommend this IHOP to everyone! To avoid rush hour I recommend coming after 1pm.Kid-friendliness: Cute kids menu and crayons!”
“Not any different than your average McDonald's. Service was good and the food was hot. I dont eat fast food much especially with the prices nowadays they all think there a fortune 500 company.”
“First McDonald’s review I ever did and probably will do because well, it’s McDonald’s. Aside from European establishments, this is the best McDonald’s I’ve been to. My food was incredibly fresh despite a fully packed driveway and I got my food in less than 2 minutes. Really efficient, really clean, and overall a great stop.”
“Honestly I've been going here since I was a kid and they never mess up my food and I love how they make the chicken nuggets and fries, in every other place where I got mc Donalds they're always soggy. This is a perfect 10/10. I really like McDonald's for their good food and drinks. I recommend it!”
“Reviewing a McDs seems odd but I had to say this location set a new high mark for design and food. Built when land was not as tight, this drive thru actually has its own little parking lot if an order is holding up the line. You can see the owners spend money to keep this place updated. However, it is the food that set a new quality-level. They were running bogo specials so I got 2 big macs. Quickly provided, these burgers actually were hot and juicy and had ample portions of fresh lettuce and special sauce. I have travelled the world and have valued the reliability McDs provided but this place has mastered it!”
“The sad thing now with Mc Donald's stores you have to pay for the faucet water and you can't order milkshakes from the app.Dietary restrictions: Not a lot of information about dietary restrictions”
“Kudos to Jason for going above and beyond with helping me this morning. Thank you, it truly made my morning thus far. I was getting breakfast at 5:38 this morning from here I went through the drive through and everyone was so welcoming and friendly . This is the first time this has ever happened since coming to this particular McDonald’s. Service was so great I needed to leave a comment!”
“I liked it, it has self-ordering and payment and it is very clean and very polite. They made a mistake with my order but they knew how to give a prompt solution. I think they deserve 5 stars.Parking: I can remember a parking space for 10 cars. including disabled.”
“My bestie helped me kick off my birthday week celebration by buying me a triple whopper and onion rings. And of course we wore our burger king crowns! It has been a very long time since I had Burger King and the food was pretty good. Not something I want to eat on a regular basis but for an occasional fun treat it is good. I saw alot of negative reviews for this particular store but we had a nice time just hanging out eating our burgers and sharing fries. The workers were perfectly kind and gave me my order in a timely manner. It's Burger King so set your expectations realistically and just have a good time chilling. Life is too short to let missing ketchup packets ruin your day or mood. And also, please be kind to all service workers. There is no reason to be rude.”
“Great food but staff is very overwhelmed by the level of people during peak brunch hours. They are nice but definitely need help. Takeout Restaurants
“Delicious (vegan) donuts sold alongside awesome frozen custard. We had the special, a banana pudding custard, which was one of the best ice cream/custards I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back.Parking: Parking in the lot across the street is free!”
“Yes please. I had the chance to visit this place twice, when I was in the neighbourhood. In 2018 and in 2023. Both times I wanted to go there again the next day. But unfortunatelly, the road goes ever on and on. It is so tasty!”
“What a delightful store. You will find high-quality chocolate and outstanding customer service. I was buying for my chocolate loving but nut-intolerant wife and the owner and counter help treated me as if I were the only person there. They were patient and totally helpful. There's a small sitting area if you want to sip coffee or hot chocolate. I imagine it can get crowded, but it still adds to the ambiance.”
“Great customer service, tasty food, and very vibrant. We love coming here! It would be even better if they had more than one more server in charge of all the tables. But again, they make it work.”
“What a beer lovers place to go. Lots of parking across the street. I've seen their beers in many beer and wine stores and Optimal Wit is probably the most recognizable. For folks that like pilsners like me, there are so many to choose from and really enjoyed their downright Pilsner and their American pale ale, essential pale ale. Nice to see breweries still make these that are not all IPA's. Their outdoor seating is huge with smaller indoor and bar seating and in the back where the beer tanks are even more seating and also where you can reserve tables for bigger parties. They don't serve food but have food trucks where you can order food. Lots of TV's to watch sports. For the kids they have two arcades (like Donkey Kong, Pac man, Galaga) that are free to use.”
“Absolutely delicious cupcakes! Not too sweet, a perfect balance between the cake and the buttercream frosting. Normally a bit picky when it comes to cupcakes but the ones here are scrumptious. Cherry on top that the flavors are fun and change daily!Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free cupcakes available too!”
“Delicious food! Got lamb and chiken over rice with green, and white sauce, onions chickpeas, ans onions. Definitely try the combo. Their rice is full of flavour and has authentic taste to it.”
“Awesome Indian and Pakistani cuisine in Alexandria. Less than half a mile from my hotel. Service was outstanding and staff are super friendly! The food was amazing. I will definitely be back before I leave and will make this one of my stops whenever I'm back in the area!”
“This is a proper bakery. Everything I ate there was great, but I think the chocolate cookie was the real winner. There is a little outdoor seating area and several tables inside too. The service was fantastic and the other customers very welcoming.”
“I absolutely loved what I got from here. I also liked that I could sample sum new flavors. I ordered a sundae w vanilla ice cream, peanut butter sauce, bananas and pineapples w whipped cream ! It was so yummy. And I just can not say enuf about the charming lady behind the counter. She made my night! Best Sundae ever!”

“Moved to area a few months ago the coffee in has the best coffee I've tried within about a 30 minute radius and during my travels past few years. The service is also wonderful, as well as the food. Delicious pastries and tasty sandwiches. Love the variety of options from drinks to food.If you're looking for high quality coffee that offers much more with a great atmosphere for sit in, then this is the place. A wonderful local place ran by some wonderful owners.”
“I am very demanding when it comes to eating something. I have visited some places including IHop because it caught my attention to come to this dinner. I can say with certainty that this breakfast is a 10 out of 10. I loved the unique flavor that I really finished with great pleasure. Their coffee is incredible, I recommend it, if you like good things, this place is perfect for you ?”
“Quiet little Cafe near the Mt Vernon trail as it enteres into downtown Alexandria. Perfect stop for a ham n cheese croissant and Cafe mocha. There are breakfast sandwiches and deserts as well.”
“TAKE-OUT ONLY! I didn’t get to try the food yet but please know that this place no longer has any seating. It’s takeout only and also quite hard to find. Call them if you are having trouble finding it.”
“JP is literally the best waiter! Cannot brag enough about his service. The tiramisu is the best I've ever had. The sangria is fantastic, the meatball eggs benedict a star, and nonna's sunday gravy a hearty bowl of awesomeness.”

“I live 30 miles from Cafe Pizzaiolo so it's not a restaurant I often visit. It is right next to my Volvo dealership in Alexandria, VA. My family really likes it when I take my vehicle in for service. They know I am going to load up on Pizza. I'm from Philly and I am particular about my pizza. They are the best I've found and the service is fantastic.”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“I've been here a couple times both for breakfast and dinner. It's a great laid back spot. Their portions seemed pretty generous the times that I've been. I'll definitely be back!”
“This was my best Popeyes experience. The food was hot and fresh, and the service was professional and quick. I was in and out at a busy hour with delicious chicken.Parking: CleanKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes”
“First the food was wonderful the chicken curry was tender and so was the goat curry, or daughter had the chicken tenders with home fries. We will go back again! They also have vegetarian food too.”
“Best tacos I've ever had. Had the pollos tacos. Incredible flavor. Wife had the tortas, which she loved. Can't wait to come back and try the other dishes. Simple, delicious food. Can't go wrong.”
“The cashier was so kind and helpful. The noodles were delicious. They mad it extra spicy like we asked too. So amazing. I'm still drooling over the pan noodles we had.”
“Wanted to give a special shout out to this particular potbelly. They have THE BEST COSTUMER SERVICE! Every time I come, they are so sweet and helpful this particular time I was asking about the red velvet cookie and asked the cashier, Camille, what her opinions were. She literally bought the cookie for me just to try and gave the cookie to me just so I could taste it after giving me her review. They always go above and beyond. I go out of my way to go to Potbelly.”
“The good: The food is always excellent quality. They’re not shy about the chips (other locations give you like five chips), staff are always friendly and helpful. The bad: My only complaint is very small. They advertise that they close at 10pm. However, on multiple occasions I have tried to grab some food between 9:30-9:45 and the doors are locked and they will signal that they are closed. I’m not taking away a star because the staff have explained it’s due to either staff shortage or food shortage, so not their fault.I do still highly recommend this Moe’s location.”
“One of my favorite local restaurants! I've dined in, gotten take out, and also delivery. Not surprisingly, dining in is the best because everything is the freshest, but I've never been disappointed with take out or delivery.”
“Potbelly's is always my go to Sandwich Place that offers quick and delicious meals. I wanted to try their new option, "Ring of Fire" and it was amazing! I love a spicy and juicy sandwich alongside a Cold Drink & Chips. Parking is never an issue and Service is great at this location.”
“I give 5 stars for the excellent service they gave me with my takeout purchase, the young man who served me was excellent, I am very grateful, his name is Kevin Rivas, for me he is the best employee! He deserves great recognition!!!”
“Great place for fast good smoothies. I went there and had a smoothie made by Neem and it was very well made. One of the best smoothies I had in while! It’s always nice going to places that care to do a good job!”
“This Arby's has been one of our favorites for more than 12 years. They've had they've hiring challenges like all restaurants these day. So, sometimes they are a little slower than other bigger fast food places. But, management is very consistent and trains their employees well.”
“It's McDonalds. No surprises here, we don't tell anyone that we eat here, but we all do, and when we do it's not too bad. This location has a quick drive-through.”
“Good coffee & drive through is very very convenient! Ice h20 is given, if requested & at no extra charge. The oatmeal is good & comes with raisins, fruit---”

Del Ray Café
“My partner (who is German) and I took our friends here and wow! We LOVED it. This restaurant had the most authentic German food in the area. The owner is really passionate about this cuisine and it shows in the food. Definitely recommend!”
Cheap Eats
“Awesome customer service. Greeted immediately upon entering. Plus they gave me time to figure out what sandwich I would like. Please give it a try if you want a great sandwich.”
“Was craving ice cream so I wanted to order for my mom and I. We both love rum raisin and didn’t want to get out of the house. So we decided to Uber eats some. However we noticed there wasn’t a rum raisin option and we knew they had it from ordering it prior to today so we called and the nice guy who answered told me a flavor to order and he’d replace them when they came in. Overall great service”
“Hands down the best pizza in the DMV area, and that’s coming from a New Yorker and pizza snob over here. The Old Town location has hot pies cranking on rotation, so they’re never out of slices of anything I’ve wanted when I’ve dropped in. Great vibe, great service, great pizza.”
“A delightful little spot with great tasting coffee and a decent array of well-priced, tasty snacks, pastries and other non-coffee drinks. Great prices too, and very friendly service. There are also plenty of seating options, and I worked very comfortably on my laptop for a few hours. It’s right on a square so it’s very comfortable area.I only wish they had some gluten free or other allergen options for their food, though I understand that’s a relatively small market.”
“This place is very dog friendly, which is so appreciated. I got the peanut butter, blueberry, açai smoothie and it was delicious. They even have gluten-free bread which is a win.”
“I almost walked by this place but I hadn't had my jolt for the morning. I am amazed at how good this coffee is; no additions needed or desired. I don't live anywhere close but I'll have to make up excuses to visit the neighborhood.”
“Stopped in to see a friend while in town for a shoot. He took me to Stracci, and I can honestly say I would make a special trip to NOVA to eat here again. Absolutely delicious food and excellent service!”
“Small business owner Help Support hImRelocated hear from Chicago was looking for a hot dog place found Markys. He has crinkle fries which I love and a bacon wrapped hot dog which was amazing with mustard. So good! And Friendly.....Guy needs the support people help him... come check out the menu....”
“I have been going to this simple style bakery since they opened. I only work a few doors down from them so it is just an easy place to get to. However, that is not the main reason I go there. The team that works very hard at Fresh Baguette are professional and polite every single day. They have a baker or manager there named Oliver (who I think is from France) and an assistant manager named Trixie (who I do not think is French) always make sure I receive exactly what I requested without fail. They are the perfect dream team that I wish I had for my professional team. Their kindness is infectious and food is delicious... Wish there coffee was a little better. But a must see and taste place in old town.”
“Old Town Alexandria can be a tourist trap if you don't know where to go or access to the local-"in crowd" on where to go. I myself would confess to being a zombie tourist if it were not for all the crowd-sourced reviews and convenient map search features. This long-winded review intro is meant to steer you off-the-beaten-path, away from touristy stuff, and see what little shops lurk in the edges off *streets of royalty* ( ahem, I meant look at what's out there beyond King Street, Prince Street, or Duke Street ).And in the case of Casa Rosada Gelato, you would literally walk pass it given recent construction that forces the relocated front entrance to be hidden deep off some loading bay alley (the pictures says it all). The alleyway is almost 25 paces off the main street and there are no signs except for some Casa Rosada icon on paper taped to a plywood board where the front entrance would be. Had to band up with a visiting family of 5 to go gelato hunting for the front entrance. It's especially scary at night and yet so fun too given how dark the entire surrounding intersection block is with no cars or people in sight. But the gelato is good - way better than the throw-back-themed ice cream chain shops that promise to top sweetened air-filled cream (ie. normal ice cream) with rainbow covered sugar that's meant to distract you from all the air you are buying in your ice cream. With most gelato classic flavors available, we opted to go 'off-the-beaten-path' theme and go for walnut and madeira wine gelato. Tasting both flavors mixed was a symphony of flavors I doubt you can find anywhere else in this Old Town.”
“I’ve had nothing short of amazing and delicious experiences at Goodies. My favorite treat is the Boogie Woogie or usually the specials like homemade rum cake! If you see it on IG stories, RUN to Goodies!! You won’t be disappointed. I’ve also tried the Nutter Butter sundae, many different donutwiches, banana pudding, peach cobbler and the Juke Box. All great choices. The kindest humans operate this spot and I can’t say enough about them too. Uncle takes his time interacting with each person who comes through and preparing their orders. Each time I visit I feel like more than a costumer, I feel like family. A moment I was particularly touched by was observing him hold space for a child paying on their own and listening as they excitedly shared their weekend. My heart melted. Children deserve to be seen as whole people. Brandon will occasionally sell his homemade caramel and dinners (recently was jerk chicken, mac n cheese, green beans and cornbread) and has looked out and saved me a jar or a plate when I’ve reached out. Everything is so, SO good!! It’s spectacular! The patio is the most gorgeous place to sit and enjoy the treats. This place can get busy and while I wait, I love listening to the music played on the speaker, when it’s on. They play all the classics! On a few Sundays I’ve gone after church, it was Gospel so I got round two of worship! Haha! I’ve been during slower moments and once, Uncle had come out and gardened and talked about his process. They’ll tend to it through the seasons. To name a few, you may see tulips in the spring and giant elephant ears and marigolds in the fall. Just a beautiful space! When you visit Goodies you truly feel the labor of love and bright spirit each time you visit. It’s like a frozen custard and treats community ministry.”
“Excellent good service, very friendly staff, I really recommend it. I have been going to this restaurant for approximately 12 years and I really love it because my children are happy to know that we are going to have lunch there. Thank you very much to all the staff who work in this place. .”
“Hands down one of the best kept DMV secrets! ? Delicious food made on site for REASONABLE prices. The people who work there have been so lovely every time. They are also bilingual, spanish and english, so you can order in either.Highly recommend the papusas and tacos ?”
“While the ordering is kinda clunky, the food was really very good. I looked for a grilled fish taco on the standards menu along with grilled shrimp but they are specialty tacos.Had the pollo and ahi tuna which were fantastic. It'd be great to see food specials during happy hours.I'll be back!!”
“By far, this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the Washington, DC area (and it's a well hidden secret - but that is not going to last for long). There are plenty of options for vegetarians. I am a meat eater, for what it's worth, and they cook all of their food in a very clean manner. They also give you very generous portions. I can't tell you how great their restaurant is - and I hope you go to it.”

Crab Cab
“My husband and I came for brunch while we were in the area. It was delicious! I would recommend everything and the drinks were good. The bar tender was pretty and attentive. The vibes were good at the bar.”
“Best Italian food in Alexandria. Many customers are regulars, you can tell by the interactions. Everything I have ordered taste super fresh. Lasagna is my favorite and the garlic bread is heaven. 1 of my overall favorite places. The owner.... is so friendly and welcoming you can't help but ”
“Words cannot describe how incredible the food is. So many flavors and flavor combinations we had no idea were possible. Even one of my friends who is not an adventurous eater enjoyed everything.”
“This is our first time. The restaurant is cozy and uniquely decorated. Atmosphere is great. Our server Linda was terrific. She helped us decide on food options and was a pleasant addition to our meal time. Everything we ordered ( and we ordered too much!) was fragrant, beautifully spiced, and gorgeously presented. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.”
“Spice Kraft has some of the best Indian food in Alexandria. We started off with the Spinach Pakora Chaat, delicious and a unique combination of flavors. For entrees, we tried the Chicken Tikka and the Bhuna Bartha (eggplant) with a side of naan. Both dishes were cooked well. The chicken was tender and the eggplant was so flavorful. The only issue we had was that the Chicken Tikka was a bit too salty. Overall, cannot wait to return!”
“Although the service was good, it would have been better if they had asked what you wanted on your sandwich. The food was ok. I just needed a little more seasoning. But very nice peopleParking: It wasn't crowded, just a few storesWheelchair accessibility: A wheelchair could get inside”
“Dinner with colleagues while in DC area. From the time we were greeted and seated to leaving following dessert, service, food and attention were top shelf!! Half of our party made reservations for dinner with spouses for the following week.!! Highly recommended!”
“I came here to celebrate my 5 year wedding anniversary. Food was amazing, service was fantastic! Lots of Vegan options. We caught happy hour which was a bonus. The Panang Curry was to die for!!!”
“We returned to Bastille after many years and it didn't disappoint. Food was first rate especially the Short ribs- meat melted in your mouth. Service was first rate and they were very accommodating as we arrived 45 minutes early. Just wonderful to find an old friend. We'll be back.”
“the margarita flight was a small glass of hibiscus, ginger and original margaritas.they tasted fresh for sure but I didn't enjoy it as much as I would've hoped. The elote nachos were yummy though.I've been to alot of Mexican fare/themed restaurants...this one was just ok for me. Other people seemed to enjoy themselvrs though. The location was cool.I'll come back in the spring/summer to see if I like it better.”

South Block
“I visit this location frequently and the staff is always friendly. They even know me by name. The inside is always very clean and the outdoor patio area is great for breezy days. Nice vibe on the corner of Mount Vernon.”
“Sara is amazing. She is always on point, along with the rest of the bar staff. I love the atmosphere it is always chill, and they have amazing events on top of it.”
“The only place in town the get great Champagne (and other wines) by the glass. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, unique retail wine selection, and tasty food menu are the other great appeals to BRUT Wine Bar!Vegetarian options: Vegan soup, and other vegetarian options available.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread available.”
“There is no better place in town to have a small bite to eat and a few drinks on the waterfront. Been here more than a few times. Staff is great, food and drinks are always good.”

Chadwicks
“Colleague said it was the best Reubens sandwich they ever had. My burger was cooked perfectly and was tasty. Ate at small hightop table near fireplace last night. Same two meals and tasty again. Don't ask for their well gin and tonic.”

“We were in town this past weekend for my daughter's cheer competition and we picked here to eat... OMG we are sooo happy we did... This place is amazing... “Had the pleasure of dining here for my birthday. Enjoyed the seafood omelet from the brunch menu with my hollandaise on the side. It was accompanied by a complimentary glass of champagne. Delicious! We had reservations and were seated immediately. The place was packed. Street parking may be challenging, so we did one circle of the block and then parked in a garage. Vibrant neighborhood and great walking around on a beautiful day.”
“Holy wow this place is amazing. It is unassuming, but the service is fantastic and everything tastes out of this world. I loved my Thai Iced Tea, and I highly recommend the crispy duck and the duck curry - easily one of the best duck dishes I've had in my life. 10/10!”
“I was invited to celebrate my birthday. I chose LaPorta restaurant since I held my son's graduation from GMU there five years ago. My friend and I were equally impressed and satisfied with all aspects of the restaurant. Noteworthy was listening to Sharon Clark and the jazz band. We had an absolutely wonderful time.”
47
Old Hat Bar
“We were there on a rainy Saturday evening. Thank goodness they have three floors as we got the last seats available. For as crowded as they were, the service was impeccable. The server had the bartender make a variation of a drink on the menu, which I appreciated.”
“This place is really great! It's a cozy little spot run by a lovely family. The food they serve is delicious, although I must say it could use a bit more spice. Overall, I highly recommend this place without a doubt. You won't be disappointed!Kid-friendliness: This place is super kid-friendly!”

The Wharf
“I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had the crab cake, sautéed spinach, and crab & corn succotash. I also had a chocolate Martini. The service was great. The ambiance was just ok.”

Pho Ngon
“What a surprise! I walk past this place all the time. After reading the reviews I stopped in. whoa. Nice extensive menu, friendly staff. Quick service. Very tasty and flavorful Vietnamese food. I noticed people at the next table didn’t finish their pho. Hmmm, something wrong, I wondered? Then my bowl of noodles with beef flank steak came out. Delicious. In spite of my good intentions, I couldn’t finish it all! I can hear my mother in the background berating me about the starving kids in Biafra, etc. Hey! I’m 70 years old and still hear that. We had the summer rolls and the sausage rolls for appetizers. They were very good as expected. My wife had grilled chicken over rice and lots of fresh veggies to mix in as desired. This has been inserted near the top of our favorite restaurants list.”
“Overall, very good food, good service, decent prices as well. The noise level on a crowded night can occasionally make it a little difficult to hear conversations without yelling, but it's not terrible. I would definitely recommend.”
“The buffet has a nice selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. The service is always impeccable. The staff is very cordial and professional. It's a small venue, but the setting is welcoming. It's a nice place to have a family lunch.Parking: There are plenty of free parking aroundKid-friendliness: The place is good for kids. They have a nice selection of kid friendly food such as plain rice, naan, salads, fruits, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and deserts.”
“Gotta love a good brewery with some great events! We are regulars at their trivia night - and it's a ton of fun. I enjoy Aslin's sour beer selection and love that their fans feature artwork that is fun and quirky! The staff is wonderful and we always feel welcome :) Don't give this place a miss! check out their trivia night (and while at it, also their goat yoga!)!”
“I am blown away with the amazingly delicious food. Anymore eating out for me is a disappointment, but tonight the whole family was left full bellies and amazed how good the food was. If we didn't live far away I would make this a local place to come for sure. It may be worth the 2 hour drive anyways. We had fried artichoke and it was to die for! On top of great food the bartender was an amazing server. He was on top of everything and great personality. We would give this ten stars if we could.”
“Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, all around great experience! We've been here a few times and we always enjoy ourselves. We normally sit at the bar which is in a cozy little offshoot away from the main dining room. The steaks we've gotten have always been cooked to perfection. The bartenders are always on point making delicious drinks that are served with style. I always recommend the 1799 Smoked Manhattan for any whiskey fans that we bring here. Best place for steak and drinks in Old Town!”
“I loved everything about this place! It is off the beaten path enough, just outside of King Street and on top of an unassuming office building, so it feels like a hidden gem. The view was fantastic with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Potomac, lovely ambiance, great brunch menu, and beautiful patio seating for when the weather is nice. The food was great - especially the breakfast burrito. Great list of cocktails and cocktails. I look forward to returning! Also note that the parking garage in the building is $5 flat rate on weekends.”
“The food was TERRIBLE!!! We ordered to go and they were still cooking it when we got there and only live a few minutes away. We got home and opened the fries, they were extremely soggy, they didn’t cook them long enough and didn’t vent the box.The gyro was disgusting ? had no flavor/seasoning, the sauce wasn’t flavored, and the pita was absolutely gross.I will NEVER eat there again. Even the baklava didn’t really have flavor.”
“Can't say enough good things about Dishes of India. We do to-go orders here often and the food is always prepared on time and tastes amazing. Honestly, we've never ordered anything that made us unhappy. Eating in the restaurant is just as enjoyable. Friendly, helpful staff and always an incredible presentation. We love Dishes of India and hope it's here in the neighborhood for a long time.”
“My recent dining experience at Virtue Feed & Grain left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped inside, the rustic elegance of the restored feed & grain warehouse from the 1800s set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the shrimp and grits. The combination of succulent shrimp and creamy grits was a delightful symphony of flavors. Each bite was a celebration of Southern comfort with a touch of sophistication. The ambiance was nothing short of electric. The large, two-story restaurant buzzed with energy, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a meal with friends, Virtue Feed & Grain provides the perfect backdrop. Our server, Jose, deserves special mention. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and guided us through the menu with expert recommendations. His passion for food was evident, and his personalized service elevated my dining experience.”
60
The Majestic
“The food and service were amazing. The Majestic feels very upscale and classy with the flexibility to be casual. My only critical feedback would be regarding the water. Water was served room temperature in tiny glasses. Since I was only drinking water, I needed a refill every 5 minutes. I definitely recommend and would return!”
61
Le Refuge
“Of course this isn’t the only French bistro restaurant. It’s not even the only one in Alexandria, Va. But it might be the best. Authentic food, service & atmosphere.”

“Feel of a traditional pub. We had the crab cake sandwich and country ham and brie sandwich- both hit the spot. Busy spot, so service was a little slower- server was friendly and attentive.”
65
Misha's
“A must stop on Kings street, great coffee, solid baked goods, and fantastic service. Be prepared to stand in line as this place is popular, but with their quick service you'll only be in line long enough to decide what you'd like to drink. (Would recommend the coffee cake or croissant)”
“I ate the herb-crusted grilled salmon, and it's the best salmon dish I've ever had, and I don't say this lightly. The buttered rice was delightful. The spinach is perfectly cooked. The salmon tasty and not dry or overcooked. I can't give this dish any more superlatives. The ambiance and service were great. The historical relevance of the restaurant is just icing on the cake. Definitely consider this restaurant for dinner.”
“Tried this on a week night and got 3 tacos, the chicken steak, the pork belly and the chorizo! They were some of the best tacos I’ve ever had if not THE best tacos. The portions, flavors and presentation were absolutely perfect!! I also got the guac and chips and they were to die for! The guac was very fresh and flavorful.I can’t wait to start making this my new local spot and try everything on the menu!Dietary restrictions: They were also very accommodating and helpful in explaining all of the options for both vegetarian and dietary restrictions”

“Very delicious food! Best Thai I ever had. Crowded restaurant, but we ordered for take out. Only con is that it’s expensive, portions are big enough to share. Definitely recommend coming here for the best Thai !”

Don Taco
“Went with a 8/9 person group and the service was smooth and accommodating with a large party. Happy hour is Monday-Fri until 7pm, which was really great for the wallet! Got the classic taco(steak) and al pastor taco— very tasty. We all split a few chips and salsas— that was also wonderful! Salsa was fresh and flavorful. Would return again!”

They always treat us well and we never left disappointed.Their queso dip is really really good. Try the Cadillac margarita; it hits just the right spot! They also have Mexican street style tacos which are my favorite. Try the carne asada or chicken!”

City Kitchen
“We’ve been to City Kitchen twice recently, and have had really nice experiences. The food is flavorful and hot, the drink portions are solid, the music is fun, and our server Robert is great — he is very attentive and friendly! It’s nice to have a reliable local restaurant that has something for everyone. We will be back!Parking: Parking lot out front is huge and spots are widely available”
“Second time here with my husband and I absolutely love this place. Their food is amazing. Love their asian rolls and curry Puff appetizers. Definitely recommend. Love the spiciness of their dishes and the levels of spiciness they offer. Their Thai tea is so full of flavor and so delicious. If you have not visited this place, you should. It won't disappoint. Great service. Friendly staff. The mango sticky rice dessert is out of this world. So delicious!!!”
“I've been here twice now, and I will continue to go back. I would preface I've been both times right after opening for lunch, so there was no wait and at one time we were the only table there.I would love to dine here for dinner, it is absolutely beautiful inside, and when it's warmer I would love to be on the outside terrace (you only get a glimpse of it from the inside).Everything I've eaten here has been fresh and delicious, and I will continue to bring people from out of town for a dining experience here.”
“We visited The Light Horse while in Arlington for a conference. We found it by searching for great places to eat with good ratings and not part of a fast food chain. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed. The burger and sweet potato fries were served hot and fresh. The dry rub chicken wings and bacon wrapped dates were also a hit. Highly recommended!”

Northside 10
“Great location, friendly staff, and delicious food. I’d highly recommended the Northside Nachos, the spinach salad with friend goats cheese (add chicken), and the 5 day Reuben. Be sure to give this place a try, you won’t be sorry!”
“I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible their sushi is always spot on and they always love to try to create new sushi rolls. The staff is very friendly and I would recommend this to anyone I know.”
“Momo Sushi is a quaint, no frills, spot with incredible sushi. The fatty tuna nigiri (special) melts in your mouth with its buttery texture, while the spicy tuna roll adds a kick of flavor that tantalizes the taste buds. I also ordered a seaweed salad bursting with umami goodness and complemented by fabulous hot tea. Would recommend!”
“Solid! Portions were great for the price.Food was fine, a little bland for my preference but exactly as described on the menu. All ingredients seemed fresh and high quality. The philo dough breading on the the pasta in the entree were great! Fun beer selection. Good service, nice atmosphere- not too loud.Left happy and full for a reasonable price.Ordered:Appetizer: PirozhkiEntrees: beef stroganoff and manti”
“This is a great location to go to. I The servers were very friendly and smiling. I got the fish plattor and a chili sampler. I was worried about allergies, and the servers were very attentive to let me know which chili had soy, and which did not. The Texas Chili was probably my favorite, and every though I did not have the vegetarian chili, I received some good feedback from my friend. Fish platter was also tasty and delicious. I hope to come back here again.”

Josephine
“The redesigned restaurant is lovely and so welcoming. The Turkey Brie avocado sandwich was delicious that comes with a side salad. The honey mustard was amazing and very much homemade.”
“Food is really good but prices keep going up! Almost to the point where the price point out weighs the food. I ordered a combo and they forgot the salad (semi understandable since they were SLAMMED!) So service....well....”
“This is a very nice place restaurant. A bit overpriced for half portions. I've been to 5 star restaurants all over the world that are worth the price. You don't leave hungry. Great service, nice locations, romantic atmosphere. Please get the price right or the portion. Most of your entrees are overpriced by 10 to 15 dollars. I spent 200 for 2. I'm should feel satisfied, not hungry.”
“My favorite chicken sandwich spot. The food is great. We just get the chicken sandwich because it's only $12. I would say that the cleaning could be something that they do a little bit better. The floors are sticky, and the bathrooms are a little gross. Service is very good, though they take your order almost immediately and make the food quickly.”
“The food was incredible and it was cooked fresh for us! The service as wonderful too. The spices in the chicken dish is unlike anything else. We walked away with full bellies and happy hearts. Thank you for sharing the wonderful food with us!”
“We were told that even though we made a reservation, they can not hold a specific table. You must specify which room you want and the size of your party. Dispute being informed that there were 2 handicap people in the party that could not walk very far, we were seated in the room farthest from the entrance (that was not what was reserved for us). The room was noisy and we could not hear our own conversations until two of the other parties left. The food was very good and hot when it arrived.”
“Mumbai Darbar is a hidden treasure! They make delicious Indian food with lots of spices and flavors. You have to try the paneer tikka and biryani. I can't wait to try more dishes next time!”
“The girl Jennifer was very helpful and polite .They care for their customers then making money. We didn’t ask for salad but they brought salad without any charge. Also the food was delicious. My husband had that kind of crust pizza after long time. The restaurant has very nice environment.”
“We had eaten at Hank’s in Charleston a few years ago and our experience at Hank’s in Alexandria was equally enjoyable. We started with oysters and clams on the shell, followed by shrimp and grits, ceviche and a side order of green collards. Everything was delicious. The chocolate mousse we shared at the end of our meal was average. We have had better. Overall, it was a great meal.”
“not just a kimchi house, but a kimchi home. kind of pricey for a neighborhood restaurant, but the portions are massive and the quality of the food is great; you’ll have leftovers for days that reheat nicely. staff are sweet sweet older women. personal favorite menu items include the kim bob, jap chae, and classic beef bulgogi.”
“I came to this place today for Lunch love the food and love the Waiter that took my order will come back again to this place and hope to see the lady that took my order .”

“I tried this place on a lark with an Uber Eats promotion, and I am glad I did. I haven’t had a burger with such fresh ingredients in a very long time. Reminds me of burgers I used to get from a place in San Diego 2 decades ago that tasted like everything had been clipped from a garden moments before.I’d go on, but the best thing you can do is try it for yourself and see if my experience lines up.”

Vermilion
“We have not been to Vermilion for several years. It was a great experience. A limited menu, but a nice selection. Delicious oysters, beet salad, strip steak, scallops, ravioli. This was a birthday dinner! The staff brought a complimentary champagne and dessert. We will be back.”
“It's fine for what you should expect. Nothing great in general but a decent spot for lunch. The menu is enormous with hundreds of options including 50 sandwiches. They even have pizzas and about 10 Italian dishes. So as you might expect it's hard to put out great food when there's so many things for the kitchen to do.”

“Always outstanding! We're so sorry that the restaurant will be closing later this year to make way for a new multi-story development. It will be a big loss for the neighborhood!”
“Puzukan has consistent delicious meals. My favorite is the Kalbi beef bowl ? ?! Me, my family and coworkers eat here often enough. Living in the DMV for almost four years, I have eaten at more than 50 restaurants. I have been coming to this location for nearly two years. The tab can add up quickly but as long as the quality is good and its tastes great ill pay. Other than the price , I have nothing negative to report.”

“The staff that helped me was great. Made sure I didn't feel rushed to order in drive thru. The food was very good especially the biscuits. I went 6 years without Popeyes biscuits and it made my taste buds reminisce. I definitely would eat here again!”
“Last night, 02-29-2024, my wife and I spent our “first” fourth wedding anniversary together with our family. Restaurant signed a card and customized the menu. They went above and beyond! The food was outstanding, Our server was attentive and very nice! Thank you all!”
“This place is always a trip to go to. The whole dynamic to build and create your own bowl is mind blowing. I recommend this place and it has never failed me in the 6 times ive been here in the last 3 years...Quick secret, when building your bowls, choose your greens first and then top it off with all meats of your choice.. Stack it high as long as it doesnt fall off the bowlGo on an empty stomach cause its a spot where they serve you more than you can eat, the price is exactly what youre getting and maybe more.”
“You can ignore Janet’s 1 star review below. I find this place to be a hidden gem. The food, the wine, the service, and the atmosphere is a unique experience. Give it a try and come back on here to leave your thoughts.”
“So me and my fiancé came to executive diner after church, and it was fantastic! My fiancé had The country fried steak, and I had to steak and eggs and the steak was so tender and juicy and the country fried steak was so tender and delicious and everything is seasoned well! Hats off to the chef, and then our waiter…. Christian was amazing! He was very courteous, very professional. Literally,we didn’t have to ask him anything he was already there, bringing us the A1 steak sauce ( all the condiments ) and whatever we needed. He’s Very attentive! This place is very cool and you should definitely bring the family for an awesome breakfast. We have to try lunch next.!”
“I would give this place a 3.5 star if I could. The food/service didn’t match the price I paid for the pizza. I ordered X-Large pizza with ricotta, zucchini, and eggplant, and gyro meat. Flavor was pretty good, but it was disappointing how little of each ingredient was put on our pizza..especially when they charge 5 dollars extra per topping. I’ll attach a picture so you can judge it yourself. This place would be great if you order just a cheese pizza, otherwise I recommend going to Whole Foods(awesome pizza, fairly priced even with additional toppings)”
“We were in town this past weekend for my daughter's cheer competition and we picked here to eat... OMG we are sooo happy we did... This place is amazing... This is by far some of the BEST food we've ever had.... Everything tasted sooo amazing. It's a very nice place too and the staff is super nice. Everything was amazing... Highly Recommend!!! Thank you sooo soo much!Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu! And highchairs. Everyone is super nice!”
“I enjoyed the food and great customer service here. We went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't very busy when we arrived. As time went on, the inside filled a bit. The gentleman was very patient and helpful with taking our orders since we were indecisive. We ended up getting jollof rice with chicken and fufu with egusi. The rice was yummy and paired well with the juicy chicken. It came with a red sauce which I'm assuming is a sort of pepper sauce. Have some water nearby if you aren't used to it. The egusi was quite savory and delicious as well. My choice of protein with the egusi was fish. I loved it..so flavorful. Overall it was a satisfactory visit and I would visit again when in the area.”
“I went on a rainy day, walked in, sat and ordered the beef soup. It was DELICIOUS! Every bite I was like “yummm”. Came with a side of rice and tortilla. The vibe was nice, bachata playing, great tv to watch spots.”

“Wasn’t expecting much after trying a bunch of DMV BBQ spots and winding up disappointed. Not this place. Stellar brisket and chili that I will def be ordering again.”
“Yes please. I had the chance to visit this place twice, when I was in the neighbourhood. In 2018 and in 2023. Both times I wanted to go there again the next day. But unfortunatelly, the road goes ever on and on. It is so tasty!”
“I went with my friends, and the part-time workers were very friendly and they cooked the meat well. We ate well without any inconvenience and had a good time. It costs about $20 for lunch, but it's really nice because there's unlimited meat. I go here often. Also, it was my friend's birthday who was a regular, and he also wished me a happy birthday. YesParking: There's plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: I had a meal with two children.”

“The pizza here is amazing! Our server was Kathryn and she was the best, super attentive and nice. We had the Caesar salad and the Meatball pizza. Honestly it was the best pizza I have ever had, it was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. If you are in the Alexandria area I highly recommend coming here.”
“Excellent Romantic dining location. Superb service and delicious mostly chicken options but other options available. Located in the heart of Alexandria downtown ofc King Street.”
“Our first time at this place and my partner and I really enjoyed it. We got the four cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup, breakfast croissant, and a blueberry banana muffin. All delicious, especially with added avocado on the mound of grilled cheeeeeeeese.”
“Found a website with all the Old Town restaurants and literally used DnD dice to fill a d100 and ended up at Hen Quarter. I'd have never come in here otherwise as I thought it was a quick service chicken place. What a wonderful surprise this turned out to be. The upstairs is beautiful and the staff is really invested. The cornbread, Caesar, 1/2 bird, and Chilean Sea Bass we got were absolutely awesome. I'd recommended checking this place out. We did spend close to $175 with tip included in that so treat this like a potential alternative to Mia's, Wharf, or Virtue closer to the water if you want to wear casual clothes and avoid the more congested area further down King.”
“We had a fantastic dining experience at Illinois Porto! Our server, Diego, was incredibly professional and courteous. He guided our meal with an expert menu review, which improved the experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an outstanding Old Town, Alexandria, VA dining experience. Dr. D.C. Whitson”
“This place was okay. They were understaffed for bar crawl. Bartenders were mostly just making drinks for table orders and ignoring bar customers. Beer was full price in half size plastic glass.”

“I liked it, the food was served in a good amount of time and was tasty. Service was good, the atmosphere was good, all around a solid establishment. I'd come back for sure.”
“There has been a lot of hype about the truck so I was excited to try it. But my bowl didnt really look like some of the good ones on here. There was very little herbs. I would definitely eat here again but I'd really have to be craving it. The portion is pretty good for $10. The sauces are good. But there's just a little too much cumin in the spice mix that's used for the bowls and the fries and it overpowers everything else.”
“I've ordered delivery from this location twice and I'm very impressed. First time I had basic buffalo hot wings and an order of Thai chili. The buffalo wings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the sauce was medium spiced and flavorful.Thai chili wings were great, zesty, well seasoned, and not the usual goopy sticky sweet that many places seem to serve.Second time I tried the honey lemon pepper wings and they were even better. Highly recommended. The packaging was good for the delivery and everything was hot and tasted fresh. Will definitely order again.”
