“This was our second time visiting. The first was two years ago. I'm pleased to say I would give 5 stars then, and 5 stars now. The service was great from the time we entered until we walked out. I can't remember the drink I had but was a "spirit free" option. I was nervous because it had cinnamon, but was perfectly refreshing. My husband had the optimal wit beer. We had the Pork belly for our appetizer that was nothing short of delicious. We both had steak, he had a ribeye and I had the filet. Perfectly cooked and worth the price. We were too full for dessert this time but will be back and save room!”

It’s a fun spot to meet up with family, friends or to have a date night.Parking: There are 2 different paid parking areas near the restaurant and you can also try your hand at street parking.”
“My family and I ate here twice, this past week, while on vacation. Our server, Jasmine was incredibly nice and attentive on both occasions. On top of that, almost everything we ordered was very delicious! The restaurant also has a kid’s menu (e.g. Mac & Cheese, chicken nuggets, etc.) that comes in very handy if your kids aren’t partial to Indian food yet :)”

“I have celiac dx and am always cautious when I eat out. The server at Royal Nepal made me feel safe by explaining each meal to us and by double checking with the kitchen staff as well. Amazing food&service. We had the boar curry and royal thali platter with chicken. I had asked if the duck fried rice was gf and sadly it wasn’t. Then later on, the server brought me out a specially made gluten free duck fried rice on the house! 10/10 we will be back.”
“Ambiance is an interesting hole in the wall. We begin with the fluffy warm bread. Soft and fresh and distracting from eating. Then the octopus salad. The octopus is just right; a good sear with a bit of smoky taste, cooked through and just right. Mussels: served with a few pieces of chorizo. Not too many to blot out the flavor of the mussels, mind you. The mussels were a bit dry, this one wasn't swimming in liquid like other places so it. Always fall for the liquid, ordering extra bread to dip into it like a weirdo. Grand marnier soufflés were good. Ask about the dog biscuits!”

“There’s street parking which you sometimes have to pay for but there might be a parking lot too. Just not sure. Service is great in a lively, comfortable setting. The food is even better. I tried this location partly because it’s closer to my home but also for a new experience. I was not disappointed. We went there for an early lunch and to beat the crowd. Chips and salsa were great. I had the chorizo con huevos which was delicious and so much I couldn’t finish it all. My wife had the mojarra frita with shrimps on top with a butter garlic sauce. She raved about it.”
“This is an amazing little pastry shop!Best blueberry muffins I have ever had!Full of berries!Had a sandwich also that was excellent!There was a line out the door when I left!So I stopped back by for some blueberry muffins, they were all sold out by 930 am!Those muffins are starting to get a reputation for amazing!”

The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the service was great. AND they have happy hour on the weekends! The only ‘complaint’ I have is that I asked for one of the dishes to be extra spicy, and it simply wasn’t. They brought me more hot sauce, and that didn’t get to the level I’m used to either. This is absolutely a ‘me’ thing as I like my food intolerably spicy, and I will know for next time to specify that I want it “extra spicy as if I were in India” to get the right spice level!Dietary restrictions: We are both vegan, and one of us is gluten free as well, and there were plenty of options to choose from! Love that this place is so close!”

“One of the newest cocktail bars on King street!This place is super cool and has a bit of a speakeasy vibe.We only got cocktails but they were all super good and unique. One of the bartenders, Andres, who was making our drinks used to work at a Michelin star bar and really showed it.He even made us custom cocktails when asked and was very nice to talk to.The atmosphere is very cute and very Instagrammable.The only thing is you have to use wifi because the bar is underground and there's no signal but other than that will definitely be going back.”

“Truly delicious! Visited Alexandria and noticed there are lots of ice cream shops to get a scoop you could get at home, but we wanted something special. Goodies is it! We tried the brownie sandwich sundae, the apple donut sandwich with homemade caramel sauce and the Oreo sundae. All were fantastic and my family loved them! Very nice outdoor seating area in a great location. Brandon (the owner) was really helpful and friendly. There was a bit of a line on a sunny Sunday afternoon, but it moved quickly and was so worth the wait. FYI, it was cash only. We'll be back for sure!”

“Went to this restaurant the other day with some friends at lunch. They offer dine in, take out, outdoor seating. The restaurant is very cute and kept very clean. I believe they are also now partnering with Washington Capitals which is awesome! There's plenty of parking, handicap parking, handicap accessible, bathrooms located on the premises. You can order ahead, order on tablets when you get there, or the bartender is always very sweet and willing to help out. Food is made fresh and comes pretty quickly. Everything tastes great! Would absolutely recommend for a visit!”

“Moved to area a few months ago the coffee in has the best coffee I've tried within about a 30 minute radius and during my travels past few years. The service is also wonderful, as well as the food. Delicious pastries and tasty sandwiches. Love the variety of options from drinks to food.If you're looking for high quality coffee that offers much more with a great atmosphere for sit in, then this is the place. Tofu is an option for lots of the dishes that would normally have meat, and many of the curries don't have meat either.”

“We arrived at our reservation having just endured a 10 hour travel day )that was supposed to be 3 hours) so we were all flustered and out of sorts. As we were being seated, my three year old paused on the stairs and vomited right then and there. I was mortified of course but they were SO kind and understanding. That continued throughout our meal (since our kid recovered quickly). I cannot say enough about their amazing service and professional demeanor. Thank you to that staff!”

I found that although prices were up at Denny’s since my last visit the quality and quantity remained the same. The service was superb and I would highly recommend this place for a good breakfast.”

Built when land was not as tight, this drive thru actually has its own little parking lot if an order is holding up the line. You can see the owners spend money to keep this place updated.However, it is the food that set a new quality-level. They were running bogo specials so I got 2 big macs. Quickly provided, these burgers actually were hot and juicy and had ample portions of fresh lettuce and special sauce. I have travelled the world and have valued the reliability McDs provided but this place has mastered it!”

It has been a very long time since I had Burger King and the food was pretty good. Not something I want to eat on a regular basis but for an occasional fun treat it is good. I saw alot of negative reviews for this particular store but we had a nice time just hanging out eating our burgers and sharing fries. The workers were perfectly kind and gave me my order in a timely manner. It's Burger King so set your expectations realistically and just have a good time chilling. Life is too short to let missing ketchup packets ruin your day or mood. And also, please be kind to all service workers. There is no reason to be rude.”

I discovered Eddies about a month ago and have been 5+ times and the food and service has been great each time. Tue and Thu are cutlet day, do yourself a favor and try the No.23. The 128 is also great. They have a few grocery staples which is nice in a pinch. Give it a try, you wont regret it.”

Drive-Thru Restaurants
“What a beer lovers place to go. Lots of parking across the street. I've seen their beers in many beer and wine stores and Optimal Wit is probably the most recognizable. For folks that like pilsners like me, there are so many to choose from and really enjoyed their downright Pilsner and their American pale ale, essential pale ale. Nice to see breweries still make these that are not all IPA's. Their outdoor seating is huge with smaller indoor and bar seating and in the back where the beer tanks are even more seating and also where you can reserve tables for bigger parties. “Old Town Alexandria can be a tourist trap if you don't know where to go or access to the local-"in crowd" on where to go. I myself would confess to being a zombie tourist if it were not for all the crowd-sourced reviews and convenient map search features. This long-winded review intro is meant to steer you off-the-beaten-path, away from touristy stuff, and see what little shops lurk in the edges off *streets of royalty* ( ahem, I meant look at what's out there beyond King Street, Prince Street, or Duke Street ).And in the case of Casa Rosada Gelato, you would literally walk pass it given recent construction that forces the relocated front entrance to be hidden deep off some loading bay alley (the pictures says it all). The alleyway is almost 25 paces off the main street and there are no signs except for some Casa Rosada icon on paper taped to a plywood board where the front entrance would be. Had to band up with a visiting family of 5 to go gelato hunting for the front entrance. It's especially scary at night and yet so fun too given how dark the entire surrounding intersection block is with no cars or people in sight. But the gelato is good - way better than the throw-back-themed ice cream chain shops that promise to top sweetened air-filled cream (ie. normal ice cream) with rainbow covered sugar that's meant to distract you from all the air you are buying in your ice cream. With most gelato classic flavors available, we opted to go 'off-the-beaten-path' theme and go for walnut and madeira wine gelato. Tasting both flavors mixed was a symphony of flavors I doubt you can find anywhere else in this Old Town.”

I usually would get just the shakes, which are soy-free, and aren’t heavy on the coconut milk like a lot of vegan products are, and I believe it’s free of canola oil based off the allergen list, but not sure. (Tried finding what’s used and only concluded potato protein is used.) I also like the Meati chicken sandwiches; they’re pretty good. Definitely not the same flavor as meat, but flavored well enough and does deliver protein (mycoprotein) and less ingredients than the beyond burger base (and a nice alternative for those who have issues with pea protein like me). Also the green bean fries were phenomenal, though I didn’t taste the horseradish much in the horseradish sauce. But yeah overall, I’ve been consistently pleased.”

They always have a good drink menu and I always try something new. My cousin goes for the Oysters each time we come. Food is always a hit, only bad note, last time I came my sweet potato fries came out overcooked and cold, but it was corrected right away and I got an apology by two different staff members. The next batch was hot and done right. I always recommend this place to my family when they come visit.”

“Don't judge a book by its cover. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Fratelli's on Van Dorn in Alexandria Virginia today. From the outside... yea it looks like a locally owned restaurant no special pomp and circumstance. Inside it's clean and nicely appointed. Then you get to the food and honestly this rivals some of Washington so-called best Italian restaurants which I will not name here, but if you're Washingtonian and you've been here a while you know them well and they're not as stellar as they used to be. The Chef owner Manuel greeted us as my husband ordered his second enteee for lunch Veal Parmesan after having a delectable nice size portion of Lasagna. Yes that right his second entree. He's a big eater. I had the chicken Parmesan. All three entrées were amazing pasta cooked to perfection.... the cuts of veal and chicken, amazing, and the sauce out of this world. They even make their own in-house dressing which we purchased a separate bottle of to go. If you're used to Washington's normal fair of Italian restaurants, and you really want something different and amazing, don't hesitate....just go!”
“We recently stayed in Alexandria for a week and we ate here 3 times, the food was that good. The first night in town we ate here on the recommendation of our hotel doorman. My wife and I just opted for a burger and fries and they were so good we came back a second time. This time we both had the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes, mine with green beans and my wife's with mac n cheese. Everything was fabulous once again. Hence our 3rd trip for Buffalo Wing night, shockingly, another great meal. Bonus, the house Pilsner is fantastic if you like beer.”

The food was prepared quickly both times I came here, no complaints. I had the Shredded Beef Burrito with chili sauce and the meat was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The chili sauce wasn't too spicy so I could still enjoy the notes of other flavors in the sauce. The seafood burrito was also delicious with cheese sauce on top. Appetizers and drinks were 10/10. The young lady who was bagging the order did it with such care.
