The squid alla marinara pasta sautéed perfectly blended with the right spices and herbs. I tasted basil and it was minty and really satisfied my appetite. “Il Porto was amazing! We needed to arrange a luncheon after my mother’s funeral and they were fantastic! We only had two day’s notice. They were so accommodating and helpful. “Maggio’s is a little hitting gemgem that I never knew existed!

I wash my clothes at the laundromat that is next-door and one day I ordered some food to go, and little did I know that there is a bar inside this place

So on my first visit, I got chicken wings to go and they were absolutely amazing. The chicken wings were bigger than normal and after four wings I was full.

On my next visit while washing clothes, I went over and ended up having a couple of drinks in the bar area. Everybody welcomed to me like family. All the employees are very nice and respectful, and the patrons are very social. I enjoyed having my drinks and food with a great atmosphere.

The food here is absolutely amazing. The chicken kebab is my favorite. The portions were generous and I had plenty for leftovers.

The location is just outside old town but well worth the visit. Whether you are grabbing food to go, or having a drink, Maggio’s is such a great place to eat, drink and meet friendly people.“

“WOW! Extraordinary service. Mina went above and beyond by preparing a meal of pizza, salad, garlic knots and desserts for my group of 150. She responded to all my emails and calls promptly and confirmed that the order would be delivered on time for our group dinner. She arrived right at 6:30pm with a delicious hot meal just as we asked. As a special surprise, she put together 2 really tasty trays of desserts and a large pan of garlic knots...and this was unexpected but offered by her. That's the type of service Mina delivers...on time, hot, with a smile and a genuinely friendly heart. The food has always been delicious , my favorite is the Tuscan Chicken. The bar menu up stairs- Martini's are absolutely fabulous. I look for this to be my hangout meeting spots for business. “Trattoria Da Franco is our go to place for Italian food when we have guests in from out of town. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. A favorite appetizer is the Mozzarella in Carozza. Although the specials sounded fantastic, I went with my favorite, Bucatini Carbonara. My wife had the veal saltimbocca and our friend chose the Penne Quattro Formaggi. We capped it off with a cannoli for dessert. All in all, a fantastic experience.“

“New Mosaic location just opened and it’s great. The pizza is fantastic, actually cooked with some nice crisp and char like the northern pizza snob in me likes. I also had a chicken parm sub that was fantastic. Haven’t tried the cold subs yet but there’s always tomorrow hah. The location is great on the bend of District Ave looking out down the street and they smartly installed a retractable front wall that can be opened for open air on nice days/evenings (or if Covid decides to play some more games here in the future). Also some select patio seating which is nice as well!“

“We’ve been getting pizza here for many years. The pizza is consistently excellent and always arrives hot. I adore all of the delivery drivers. They always smile BIG and sometimes even chat a bit!

When we go into the resturant to eat we’re always well taken care of.

They have stayed fair with their prices despite the opportunity to raise them especially the last several years.

“This cozy, family-owned bistro in Old Town Alexandria specializes in authentic Greek & Mediterranean dishes with Italian influences. I visited on a slow Sunday evening, and the staff was very polite and prompt in bringing drinks and taking the orders.

Each table is provided water, bread, and olive oil for dipping. The entree I chose is a Baked Moussaka, and my friend the Chicken Souvlaki Platter. Both meals were prepared and served in a timely manner. The food was fresh with quality ingredients. The Moussaka had a mixture of potato with the sirloin which made an interesting spin on a traditional lasagna dish. The chicken on the platter was juicy and tender.

The meal was in the mid-twenties in price which seems typical for this type of restaurant. The portions being a little smaller than I'd like for the price, but not disappointing. I believe this is an ideal place for a lunch or dinner date, especially if you are looking for authentic Greek cuisine.“

“We came into town to watch our school’s band march in the Memorial Day parade, and this restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was welcoming and fun. Even with a large crowd of students and chaperones, they got our food out quickly and made sure everyone was taken care of. The staff was incredibly attentive, patient, and friendly throughout the entire visit. We truly appreciated how well they handled such a big group while still making us feel valued as customers.
