“If you're vegan/non-dairy/open to vegan foods, PLEASE order from this restaurant. I tried NuVegan for the first time last weekend, while I was traveling for work. I'm pescetarian (minus dairy), but most of my meals are vegan since fish is so expensive. I ordered the following during my stay in Alexandria:
- Lasagna
- Mac & cheese
- 'Drummies' w/ fries
- Crunch lord combo

Everything was delicious. I'll admit, the lack of actual storefront can reasonably raise some caution at first, but the food that's handed to you is truly from another world. The mac & cheese was creamy and flavorful, and the 'chicken' was crunchy and so close to the real thing. Lasgna is one of my favorite foods, so I had high expectations at first, but all of my expectations were met. They don't just stuff veggies in the layers; there's actual vegan meat, and the flavors tie so well together. I'm sad that I won't be here much longer, because I'm constantly thinking about how good this food was. I know taste buds are different for every person, so you may not have the same experience as me. Still, I implore those reading to give this business a try. Especially if you're looking for vegan alternatives“

“Love this place! Dinner is always 10/10 but service, we had Alena or elena and she was just the sweetest young lady and she knows was shes doing, and she was honest too with her recommendations! We always have a tuna and oysters! Then steak this time we shared the cowboy ribeye and added scallops which by the way is not on the menu but elena said they could do it and it was delicious!! 5 star service“

“One of the best ice cream shops I’ve been to in a long time, I was pleasantly surprised to find homemade custard. The root beer was delightful in my root beer float and you can definitely taste the honey flavors the root beer was made with. The vanilla custard was refreshing and fantastic. I got there 30 minutes prior to closing and the place had a line out the door. It was a fast line and worth the short wait time. I understand now why it was so popular and I look forward to trying more from the menu in the future. They had a lot of great options and accommodations for almost anyone such as sorbet. Really cute area and if you go across the street and down a little there’s more seating to sit and eat your delicious treat outside. There’s also a cute little garden spot directly across the street too with a few seats and a spot for a treat for your dog in the mail box. I would 100% recommend this spot but expect it to be busy.“

“First time back since renovations and wow what a story this place is. It started with the chicken & waffles. The meat was really pink and hard to bite into so I decided to do french toast instead. (Minus the almond cookies.) and it was delicious but it was soft as butter so I had to request a spoon 😮 On top of that, the bartender complimented not only my neurodivergent tattoos 🏳️‍🌈♾️ but also gave me a free mocktail. Though I will warn you it’s real strong. I tasted mostly lemon but it had a hint of maple and tea. Which is ironic because strong taste is why I prefer tea over coffee (if I had to pick between the two). Regardless, these people deserve some love especially in the economic crises we have.“
