“My wife and I had an absolutely amazing evening dining out here on a long weekend trip to DC for our Birthdays. The food was incredible I have not found one dish at this or the Chicago location that wasn’t great. Abagail was simply the best waitress we have EVER had. She was attentive, personable and really went out of the way to give us the best dining experience my wife and I have ever had from top to bottom. We had a great experience in Chicago but I have to say I think the food was a touch better here. I am comparing caviar to caviar here as both were great, but DC has the win here and certainly did with our waitress as well.“

This place served a perfectly balanced pizza between toppings and amount of dough. The crust was just as I like it, a slight crunch but still chewy.

The only complaint was not the fault of the business, but random folks kept coming in and asking us for our pizza. I mean, that could just be a testament to the tasty pizza, everybody wants some.“

“First impression, fancy place yet accepting of my Washington Capitals hoodie. I thought for sure I was gonna get calamari but the waitress sweet talked me into getting chicken parmigiana. And wow am I glad she did. It’s like a pizza but with a chicken tender crust. Great work! And right when I didn’t think they could do any better, I got a free cookie!!! That is service.“

“Trattoria Alberto was fantastic. We met the owners, Alberto and Ernie, and they were very personable and took the time to meet the guests. The food and staff were amazing. Jamie was our waitress and she was awesome, especially considering it was only her 3rd day. By day 10 she may be running the place. Great food, great people, and definitely worth a visit!“

“Good pizza for less than $6.00. They also have other prepared food, like meats, salads and sides, but I went with pizza. The service is relatively fast and it is a place for a quick bite. I work in the area and it’s one of my favorite options for lunch - slice of pizza, kin of New York style lunch :). Also, considering that the chain exists since 1956, it’s reliable and proven with a time. Interior is simple and ascetic.

“I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was very retro modern Italian which was very comfortable & not overdone. Not your checkered tablecloth or super upscale variety. Food came out quickly and hot, even though we were a party of 11 and at least 2 other large groups were also there at the same time. “We are tourist & was searching for a place too eat since our first choice for dinner totally ignored us after we sat there 30 minutes we left. This pizza joint is absolutely delicious. The thin crust was delicious especially on the cheese pizza. The only negative thing I have too say is y’all charging too much for a house salad. “This is my favorite lunch place in DC. The food is outstanding, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant itself provides the feeling that you're enjoying a local sandwich shop. This is the best sandwich bread you can get in DC, and it's not even close. You can taste the freshness in every bite and the addition of being able to buy the meats and fresh baked rolls separately gives Salumeria a local, small-European town quality that can't be matched at other places. For this price point and this level of sandwich creation, you won't find anything better in DC. Try the Crudo, it's a classic, simple sandwich that provides rich flavors in every bite with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto that melts in your mouth.“

“If you are looking for good food at the wharf and don't mind not having sit-down service, go here. The salads were large and fresh and the mozzarella cubes were delicious. It was worth every penny, and the workers were so pleasant. It's a little cramped if you are eating in, and its a little loud because you are in the same room as the kitchen vents, but the food makes up for it hands down. My only regret is I didn't take pictures because I was so hungry and focused on eating 🤗“

I grew up in this neighborhood and went to HD Woodson and didn't even know it was there. I love the energy and beauty it brings to Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue. Although I didn't have brunch my family did and they enjoyed it. It was clean, great design and the GM Tre made sure we were well taken care of.“
