“Came in for the first time with my teen, and while the registration process is a bit onerous (long), it's also reasonable considering they're checking dogs for vaccination and that owners are caring for their dogs. After that, I grabbed a beer (12oz port city optimal wit, $9), our pup started socializing with other dogs, and I met some other people's pups too. The staff are very helpful & friendly, the atmosphere is definitely nice with ambient music, and the furnishings are industrial/minimalist- but considering the number of dogs- perfect for the clientele! This Sunday afternoon included about two dozen dogs, from miniature Pomeranians to Great Danes. Almost all were very social (what we were looking for) and the staff were quick to help on any issues or pup exuberant or aggressive play.“

Great selection of beers and apparently food as well, though I have yet to eat here. Helles, lagers, pilsners, Weißbier..they got it all, even the elusive Kristalweizen! “I was in DC for a couple of days and after a day of sightseeing, was ready to chill and grab some beers. I'm a huge craft beer fan and saw that Other Half's DC location was pretty close to where I was staying. I've had quite a few of their beers and also been to their brewery in Brooklyn, which was boss. This location was equally good. I ended up getting four beers, two NEIPA's, which were both really good and fresh and also two barrel aged beers, one was great, the other not so much. Service was on point and the guy behind the bar was very friendly and accommodating. It is a large space with outdoor seating and there was a quiz going on while I was there. You can also buy beer to take away too.“

Today I ordered the Strainge Beast hard kombucha which was awesome. Ginger, lemon, hibiscus. Loved it! We also needed a light midday snack so my husband got the $3 happy hour brat and I ordered hummus/pita. The hummus tasted great and was the perfect consistency. I'd love some veggies in addition to the pita bread, though. The service has been welcoming both times I've come. All in all, Midlands is a terrific neighborhood hangout spot and I'm sure to be back when visiting the area.“

“What a crazy odd gem of a place this is. I was on business and had really not been impressed by the DC food scene at all. Ended up here because the place I was going to wasnt open yet and I figured I could blow off some time and have a couple of beers. This place is almost all black inside and is setup to handle a lot of live rock bands. Looked at the menu and its really weird for a rock band bar and I figured no big deal - beers will be good. Telling the bartender about my trip and disappointment when the owner comes out. Would never tell this guy was the owner by the mohawk punk rock look he had but he and the staff are super cool and laid back people. He says let me order you something to try. Out come dishes.Lemongrass beef - thought for sure this would be chewy hard overcooked griddled sirloin steak. Imagine my surprise - super tender, super flavorful sweet sour salty Asian grilled seared steak what I think is a cut similar to flank steak.Next the pretzel sticks with queso - these arent normal pretzel sticks - they have an outside look like pretzels and have a crunch but are soft and a touch of sweetness with almost a donut chew to them coated in a fine salt pepper maybe garlic? powder seasoning. I am a bit of a foodie snob and can cook about anything and have no idea how to replicate because its just a pretzel right? But its NOT JUST a pretzel - soo good.Lamb chops - coated in what I think is a cinnamon cardamon crust grilled to perfection. Incredible grilled tender lambchops. This place is every bit a high end restaurant in a rock bar vibe. This is not the place to get all dressed up for fine dinning - its the place to take a date, eat crazy amazing food and rock out. If the marketing manager sees this - SEND ME THE PRETZEL RECIPE!!!“

“I’ve been wanting to go to Cork for years, and never made it in, so I finally made a reservation for a Friday night and I’m so glad that I did. At first I didn’t even know there was an upstairs section, but we were seated upstairs and it was a very nice atmosphere. Cozy and comfortable and and excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine or have a meal. Our server was very welcoming and clearly knew his stuff. We know a little about wine but not enough to be successful, so we really appreciated the recommendations. I think we could have used a bit more attention during the night but our server was also tending to the bar patrons, so this was neither here nor there. While we did not have dinner the menu, though focused, looked excellent. My one negative comment would be related to the vintners plate (read charcuterie board) which while $24, had nearly nothing on it. However this seems to be the norm in DC these days unfortunately. Overall I would say a very nice experience and definitely would be a repeat visitor.“

Ordered the New Year's 4-Pork Special 12" pizza with pepperoni, salami, sausage, basil, asiago, and mozzarella cheese, minus the prosciutto (cutting down the salt intake) You can taste the spices in the red sauce. The pizza is not overwhelmed with cheese, but the cheese combination is delicious. The crust was lite and crisp. It was piping hot and stayed relatively hot to warm as we enjoyed this deliciously wood-fired pizza, with nothing left but crumbs. We paired it with the Homebrew award winning Paradiso Dunkelweizen beer, a nice Mellow taste. Great for a non-beer connoisseur. Okay, great corner location with free parking lot next door and street parking. Nice decor with plenty of seating inside with full panel glass doors that open to the patio during the hot summer days.
