“What a surprise! I walk past this place all the time. After reading the reviews I stopped in. whoa. Nice extensive menu, friendly staff. Quick service. Very tasty and flavorful Vietnamese food. I noticed people at the next table didn’t finish their pho. Hmmm, something wrong, I wondered? Then my bowl of noodles with beef flank steak came out. Delicious. In spite of my good intentions, I couldn’t finish it all! I can hear my mother in the background berating me about the starving kids in Biafra, etc. Hey! I’m 70 years old and still hear that. We had the summer rolls and the sausage rolls for appetizers. They were very good as expected. My wife had grilled chicken over rice and lots of fresh veggies to mix in as desired. This has been inserted near the top of our favorite restaurants list.“
“This place is sooooo good that I wanna cry the food IS JUST ANOTHER WORLD, the owner is an awesome dude, the server was so nice and sweet, it was just an amazing experience ? my heart and stomach are full, I deeply recommend you guys go there, I saw they had lots of order with Uber eats and DoorDash, I didn’t much people sitting inside, but it was because it was snowing really hard, I loved being there, having the place just for me and my friends haha but I also wish more actual people go there and eat at the place, they are so nice and efficient and the food is just AMAZING. 1000 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“My favorite place to get pho! I travel all the way from Richmond for this pho place. It's the absolute best I've ever had and no place has compared to it yet. I've been coming to viet house since I was a little girl. I usually get the chicken pho and it's always AMAZING. The broth is so tasty and fresh. The spring rolls are always so warm and crispy. The summer rolls have gotten smaller as the years have gone by but that's inflation for you! Service is great and super fast! And there is never a wait to be seated. 10/10 recommend“
“We were seated quickly, it was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. Pho was hot, and tasted good. Their summer rolls were kind of gummy and the peanut sauce was more soy-tasting than Im used to. Overall, Id say the food was good. Service was ok, we had to ask for more water and they didnt seem super interested in helping.“
“By far, this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the Washington, DC area (and it's a well hidden secret - but that is not going to last for long). There are plenty of options for vegetarians. I am a meat eater, for what it's worth, and they cook all of their food in a very clean manner. They also give you very generous portions. I can't tell you how great their restaurant is - and I hope you go to it.“
“We were in area and decided to stop for lunch. We ordered the summer rolls with tofu (non fried), the grilled pork salad and the beef vermicelli plate. The menu was more extensive than our regular “go to” pho soup place. All was freshly prepared —-very good with generous portions. We are planning to come back and try more of the menu such as the bahn mi sandwiches and their version of pho soup;-)“
“On the bustling main street of Old Town, Pho Nam stands as a culinary beacon, guiding food lovers through the vibrant streets of Vietnam. Stepping into Pho Nam is like stepping into a Vietnamese market, with the aromas of fresh herbs, simmering broths, and grilled meats filling the air, promising an authentic journey for your taste buds. Our adventure kicked off with the Ca Phe Sua Da, the signature Vietnamese coffee that could wake the dead (or at least make them wish they had another shot at being alive to enjoy it). This potent brew, sweetened with condensed milk, is the perfect start to an epic culinary journey, setting the tone for the feast to come. The Fresh Garden Rolls and Vietnamese Egg Rolls were like the opening act at a rock concert, setting the stage and getting the crowd going. These rolls were so fresh, they could have come straight from the garden and the fryer, ready to rock your palate with their crisp and vibrant flavors. The Banh Mi Dac Biet was next, a classic house special sandwich that's a veritable United Nations of flavors, nestled within a crisp baguette. With headcheese, Vietnamese ham, French-style pate, and a slather of house mayo, this sandwich is a masterclass in simplicity, balance and finesse, garnished with pickled carrot and radish, green onion, cilantro, and just the right hit of jalapeno to keep things interesting. The Pho Bo (traditional beef noodle soup) and Pho Ga (chicken variation) were like big, warm hugs in a bowl. The beef pho was so authentic, it felt like a culinary postcard from Saigon, with its rich, aromatic broth and tender slices of beef, singing with the flavors of Vietnam. The chicken pho offered a comforting embrace, its clear, flavorful broth and tender chicken telling a story of simplicity and soulfulness, a testament to the comforting power of a good chicken soup. Not to be outdone, the Bun Thit Nuong (grilled lemongrass pork on rice vermicelli) was like the summer hit you can't get out of your head, with its smoky, savory pork and light, refreshing vermicelli making for a perfect harmony of flavors. The Com Suon Nuong (grilled pork chop on steamed rice) was a great complement to round out the ensemble. A dish so satisfying, with its perfectly grilled pork chop and fluffy steamed rice proving that sometimes, the simplest things in life are also the most delightful.Pho Nam is more than just a restaurant; it's a ticket to Vietnam, offering an authentic taste of its rich culinary heritage. From the vibrant flavors of its dishes to the warmth of its service, Pho Nam is a gem in the DC metro area, a place where every meal is a celebration of Vietnamese culture. So, if you're craving an adventure that's both delicious and authentic, look no further than Pho Nam. It's a pho-nomenal experience that's sure to satisfy your wanderlust and your appetite, one slurp at a time.“
“I have tried pho restaurants all over Virginia. I've had friend's grandmothers and aunties hit me with the homemade pho. I thought I had greatness but hands down this place kicks all the others in the booty big time. The broth is so clean and flavorful. I've had it hungover and I left the broth out; not one piece of congealed fat from how clean it is. Whoever is making this broth must be protected at all times and I want to send her birthday presents“
“I usually pick up. Really nice team. Food is great, especially shaky beef. Just wish they’d use better plastic containers and not styrofoam so all of shaking beef sauce comes out. I tried to tell them but they were like just be careful keep bag upright. I always try but in transport it just happens a. They need to just go ahead to move away from styrofoam“
“Generally everything was good, I just wasn't as happy as I'd like to be for spending about $50 pp with tip for a beer, dinner, and shared appetizers. I will try to visit again and try the pho. Service was relatively quick. The place is very small and won't seat partial parties. It got quite crowded so be prepared.“
