“Honestly, the positive gap between expectation and reality for Chili’s is unmatched. I went for the first time ever with some true veterans and proceeded to be utterly delighted for two hours.
First, Shakur is an incredible server. A+.
We started with chips and salsa + skillet beef queso (~$12). It tastes like the best midwestern Mexican restaurant salsa and straight from a Super Bowl party cheese dip.
I ordered the arctic drift marg. It could have been more frozen but who cares? It was also roughly $12.
We had some mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and then I went HARD on the triple dipper. 2 mini burgers (Big Mouth Bites), 2 Nashville hot mozzarella sticks, and 3 honey chipotle chicken crispers . Finished it off with a skillet cookie.
I meannnn. Everything hit. I only ate half of everything so I had a full lunch the next day, too.
I expected the menu to be more Mexican? Maybe more like the Applebees of my youth? It was beautifully its own unique self. I get it, Pam. I, too, saw God in a Chili’s.
Cost to quality ? Incredible. With tax and tip it was ~ $40 pp.“
