“I had the gyro sandwich with the sweet potato fries and it was good. Nothing to write home about but I don't have any major complaints. Unfortunately I was not impressed with the service. Our server was not very attentive and barely stopped by our table to ask if we needed anything. The place was not that crowded so I don't think being busy was the reason. The bill was also very high for what we got.“

“Overall food was decent. Fries with chili and cheese were above average and milkshakes were excellent. Where it failed was the burgers. Probably one of the most average hamburgers I have ever had and I find it comparable to McDonald's. I didn't have it I was told their half smoke was delightful.I am giving it a 3 as it is apparently well-known but was fairly average in my perspective.I'm updating this to 4 stars because after our meal 90 year old owner, Virginia, took time to talk to us and tell us all about her and the restaurants history that is rich and pivotal in the black community of the area. “Tried Ruthie's for the 1st time yesterday. I'd read many good reviews (understandably) but had never tried it. What a great find! It is light and airy. The service is friendly and efficient. The menu is interesting with a good variety. My salad was delicious and so large that I took half of it home for another meal as I saw others doing as well. My husband's barbeque was equally delicious. We will definitely be repeat customers!“

It's a family and black owned business (love it) and they were warm and welcoming.
