“I had a GERDS attack last night and needed real food to comfort my tummy. Guys the soup and jasmine rice soothed my tummy and the food taste absolutely Great!! This was not my first time here, but I thought I needed to say if you want FOOD, not boxed stuff come here!!!“
“Came by Dionne's before attending a Mystics game and it's the best decision I ever made! Don't walk there run there. Like right now. So good! And the Sycamore & Oak is just so cool - you have to go check it out.EnvironmentThis establishment is located in the Sycamore & Oak community space which is beautiful within itself. If you're not interested in food just go check out the space for all it has to offer - from clothing, to events like karaoke and speaking engagements or just to hang out with friends or even to get some work done - a great beautiful space. Dionne's is located in what i would call the 'food hall' They have a small stand where you order your food and then you can sit where ever you would like through out the space. There is also a large long bar where you can sit and eat and drink at as well. It's perfect for a pregame meal or just for a good time and a good meal.ServiceThe service was great. It's a family and black owned business (love it) and they were warm and welcoming. My friend and I stepped away to check out other stores in the space and while we were exploring they came and brought us our drinks which was extremely nice of them. It was great.Food and DrinksThe food was everything! We had the crab friends and salmon bites. Everything was delicious. I will definitely come back to try....everything. Yes everything. lol. I loved every bite and highly recommend.OverallOverall I loved all of the food and enjoyed the space. It was warm, welcoming and comfortable and the food was delicious and drinks were good and strong. I loved everything about this visit and will surely be back for more. Make sure you check them out!“
“I Love this Place!!! Great Prices, Food and Customer Service!!! I Did Not Get a Chance to Take Other Pictures But The Next Trip I Will. Awesome Grilled Chicken Salad With Great Flavor!!! This Place Needs Longer Hours of Operation...! But, it’s Still The Best Small Deli Shop in the DMV Area!!!“
“I truly enjoyed my experience at Lula Maes Gardin. I should have taken pictures of my wings, because they were good. Cooked hard, flavorful (sweeter than I was expecting for mild buffalo, but I enjoyed them very much). It is a small, warm space to me. I liked being in there. I took my 10 year old and he tore up his fish sandwich. So Of course, when a hungry child leaves happy, you've done well as a parent and as an establishment?. The service was friendly. Food is cooked to order so you have to be patient, but there was a arcade machine that kept my son busy and I was watching TV in there. Everybody who came in seemed pretty satisfied to be there, wait for their food, and leave in peace. There are a few bar style chairs to sit down, but it's definitely for takeout. I will definitely go back to try a meal or two, and I hope you do too. Support the sisters at Lula Maes! I'm happy for them and think they will be in the community as long as they want to be, as we show them our support!Parking: It's on Kennedy Street, between New Hampshire Ave NW and Kansas Ave NW. If you know the area then you know it's small businesses and apartments. So it's street parking. I didn't have a hard time finding parking, but I did park around the corner. Not a long walk, unless you are with a senior or carrying a car seat or something. If you are lucky, you can find a spot right in front which is possible.“
“I found Ruthie's All Day on a Google search close to where I was staying while in town. This place does not disappoint!! My only regret was not being able to try EVERYTHING!! Our server was definitely knowledgeable about the menu, and gave excellent recommendations! Between the three of us we tried, the big bad brisket sandwich, the fried chicken Cobb salad, the shrimp and jalapeño hush puppies, and the fried chicken sandwich. The brisket was incredible! Great smoke ring, falling apart tender, incredible flavor!! The fries were plentiful and well seasoned and cooked! The Cobb salad was amazing!! I loved the deviled eggs in place of the hard boiled egg. The salad was beautifully presented and there was enough for 2 or 3 people. The hush puppies were hot, fresh, and moist!! This is my new go to in the Arlington area!! Run, don't walk to Ruthie's All Day!!“
“This hidden gem offers a delightful fusion of flavors that's as vibrant and colorful as a Mexican mural. This family-owned operation not only wins your heart with its super friendly staff but also caters to a symphony of dietary preferences, making it a haven for vegetarians, vegans, and those seeking halal options. The casual atmosphere, a playful blend of Mexican zest and Greek finesse, sets the stage for a dining experience that's both laid-back and lip-smackingly good.Diving into the menu is like embarking on a culinary world tour, starting in Mexico with the Vegan taco, a masterclass in flavor that proves you don't need meat to create a masterpiece. It's a plant-based delight that showcases the kitchen's knack for transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary. The Mexican Pizza, a Wild Tacoz signature, is a flavor bomb. Imagine a 12" pizza that shuns the traditional crust for a double cheese-filled tortilla, creating a base that's as innovative as it is delicious. Topped with a protein of your choice and adorned with a medley of toppings including mild or spicy salsa, a three-cheese mix, tomatoes, onions, black beans, romaine, cilantro, and corn crumbs, it's a dish that dances on the line between genius and madness, landing squarely on the side of genius. Then, we set sail for Greece with the Gyro Burrito, a culinary hybrid that's as bold as it is delicious. Packed with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta, and tzatziki, it's a wrap that wraps you in warmth and comfort, proving that when Mexico meets Greece, the result is nothing short of spectacular.Wild Tacoz is not just a restaurant; it's a testament to the power of family, fusion, and the universal language of delicious food. With every dish made to order, freshness is the name of the game, ensuring that each visit is as delightful as the last. In a world where fusion can sometimes mean confusion, Wild Tacoz stands out as a beacon of culinary creativity, blending Mexican flair and Greek elegance into a dining experience that's sure to leave you wild with joy.“
“What a friendly, comfy place to have breakfast! The cheese blintzes were wonderful, the coffee was rich but not too strong and frequently refilled, and the service was friendly, prompt, and efficient. Oh, did I mention the delicious cheese blintzes??? Great way to start the day!“
“This place has a really nice Sunday Brunch. The day I came, there was a Go-go band playing, which made the afternoon much more enjoyable. The bartenders were friendly and had great customer service. Best mimosas I had in a while. I recommended this place if your in the area.“
“Overall food was decent. Fries with chili and cheese were above average and milkshakes were excellent. Where it failed was the burgers. Probably one of the most average hamburgers I have ever had and I find it comparable to McDonald's. I didn't have it I was told their half smoke was delightful.I am giving it a 3 as it is apparently well-known but was fairly average in my perspective.I'm updating this to 4 stars because after our meal 90 year old owner, Virginia, took time to talk to us and tell us all about her and the restaurants history that is rich and pivotal in the black community of the area. Amazing conversation with her and if you can you should visit with her!“
