“I enjoyed dining at this pupuseria. It was the first time I had been back since it was called the Magic Skillet years ago. Luckily, the restaurant still has all of breakfast menu items from back in the day Plus some classic Latin dishes. My friend ordered the traditional southwest omelet. I ordered a chicken pupusa, a tamal and a taco Al pastor. The pupusa was a 5/5. It was amazing! The tamal and taco were good, 4/5. My friend loved his menu choice. Prices are very fair as well. We’ll definitely be back.“

“I subtracted one star because they deactivate the drink machine. Drives me a little nuts when I can’t do my own self-serve drink even though the machine is right there!

Otherwise, this is a very good location. I always do special orders because I’m vegetarian and this location should always get some correct, which is awesome.

“Id recommend dining in over takeout. Dine in pupusas are huge, takeout is small/regular sized. Tomato sauce is very watery, not very flavorful.
Salt level is perfect to me, service is usually fast. The tables chairs carpet could use an upgrade, very worn out/old. Plentiful parking. Bathrooms mostly clean.
Every time i do takeout, they always give me the wrong order. BUT they are more than willing to remake, for free of course. Just inconvenient when you get home and realize your pregnant wife is going to cry bc its not our order and now we have to go back and pick up hopefully our correct order.
I want to try the pollo pupusas but they say they mix in green peppers with the chicken. Idky they do that with only the pollo, i asked if it could be removed but they said no. so i only order classic pork and cheese. This time we recieved beans & cheese.“

Such a shame- vegetarian spots in dc are hard to come by- there are countless other places that serve chicken tacos. Such a shame, as I always brought all our friends and family here! Really good food at a great price is hard to find, everything seemed made in house down to the chips.
I tried a huarache for the first time and was blown away.
Everything came out really fast, the menu is small but precise, my wife had the vegi option and really enjoyed it, would 100% recommend it to anyone.“

“I was so lucky to be able to try this truck a few times when the first started a couple of years ago and loved it then. I brought some international colleagues to this truck, making big promises, and Tacos Mi Rancho is still my favorite truck after all these years. With the 3 year gap of having it, it was still the best taco truck in my opinion. Food came out fast even though they had a long line of customers and the quesobirria was perfect as always. I also think they price very reasonably! My international colleagues were blown away by their food.“

We started with chips, guac, salsa, and queso — every dip was fresh and bursting with flavor. The tacos (beef and carnitas) were phenomenal, each with distinct, authentic seasoning. The quesabirria was rich and cheesy, and the rice rounded the meal off perfectly. Bruno, our server, was outstanding — friendly, fast, and genuinely made the experience better. “This is absolutely one of my favorite places to go! The Roost was my go to during the pandemic with tons of outdoor seating. Since it was in my neighborhood we frequented a lot. The staff watched my little one practically grow up there! It became our meeting place and neighborhood watering hole. Quick and efficient and some of the best food and customer service! We’ve moved from the area but always stop by when in town because it feels like home!“

“I was in the area running an errand and wanted to find a spot to grab something quick, casual, and satisfying. Taco Bamba checked every box, especially after I spotted an Al Pastor taco on the menu, which to me is always the sign of a proper taqueria.

The menu is extensive, and I really liked that you can order tacos “clean” or “dirty.” Naturally, I went with the dirty version. I ordered the Al Pastor and the El Rico Pollo, and both were packed with flavor.

The tacos were vibrant and colorful, topped with fresh pineapple, onions, and plenty of meat. From the very first bite, I could tell this was the real deal. The portions were generous, and every bite was loaded with flavor. Honestly, they were so good I could have easily ordered more.

The tortillas had beautiful blistering from the grill, adding the perfect texture and slight char to each taco. Even the chips stood out. They were crispy, lightly salted, and tasted fresh out of the fryer.

If you’re looking for flavorful tacos in a laid-back spot, Taco Bamba is definitely worth the stop.“

“Best experience ever, thank you! My soon to be 5 year old daughter wanted to go to Bar Taco for her birthday dinner this past Saturday evening. Not surprisingly as it was prime time on a Saturday they had a decent wait but she was determined. The hostess was kind and made sure to keep us updated on where we were on the list while continuously checking how close the tables were to clearing out while also letting my 2 girls pick out full size coloring books. Once we got a table the hostess danced with my daughters to the table. As soon as we sat down the manager came by and said “I heard we have a birthday being celebrated here?” In such a way that really made her feel like a princess. He then brought both my daughters free Shirley Temples and apologized for the wait. After we finished eating the same manager brought both girls free ice cream and comped our dessert we ordered. To top it all off they stopped the girls on the way out and gave them Bar Taco sunglasses, stickers, and a bandana. Thank you making an amazing birthday celebration for my daughter and making this solo dad look cool and like he actually knows what he is doing when it comes to celebrating his girls. I doubt she will ever want to go anywhere else for her birthday dinner.“

“I spent a couple hours here because my flight was delayed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My Cosmos were perfectly pink. (If they’re clear and red they’re not made correctly) and only $6 during Happy Hour. I’m not a big fan of Mexican food, Cosmos I ordered the Bora Bora marinated chicken without the tortilla over rice. It was delicious! The chicken was so tender and tasty and all the flavors were wonderful. I also enjoyed watching the surfers on TV,. The waves relaxed me instead being stressed out over a delayed flight.
