Nigiri sizes are incredibly, incredibly small for what you pay.Atmosphere: clubby vibe with very loud music can make it difficult to hear your dining partnersFor me, the price isn't worth the experience. “It's been so exciting to see an entirely plant-based concept be so successful and expanding so rapidly and now that I have visited I absolutely see why. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. My friend and I had been dying to try their plant-based sushi and not only did it blow us away but the other dishes we tried were equally as incredible. Here's what we got for two people. We were quite full and took some leftovers: - ahi watermelon nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: If you didnt know this was made of watermelon you could absolutely mistake it for the real thing. The texture is mind blowing and the flavor is on point. Amazing way to start the meal (and end it because we ended up ordering another round to finish our meal) - unagi eggplant nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: So delicious. Definitely must order. The eggplant is super tender, just like eel. - spicy tuna roll: we ordered the hand roll but I think the server misheard so we ended up with the maki but it wasn't a big deal and i wasn't upset to get to try their take on maki rolls. I think their rice could use some work but this was still tasty! - Dan Dan noodles: incredible. Our server advised us to get the Dan Dan noodles over the Singapore noodles entirely because of the saucy-ness of this dish and he did not steer us wrong. These noodles are drowning in sauce (in the best way) Even though it's a peanut sauce it was perfectly balanced and creamy. The noodles themselves had a great chew and the use of kamut (a grain) in the dish as a substitute for the traditional ground pork was inspired. - bang bang broccoli: broccoli has never tasted this good. I mean it, not only is the broccoli is shockingly crispy while being perfectly cooked through the center, but the broccoli itself tasted so creamy and delicious unlike any broccoli I have had before. And the bang bang sauce is bangin too. All this being said, if you are trying to be choosy and try the most unique dishes, I would probably skip this dish in favor of more sushi. Overall, this was an incredible, unique, and innovative meal and I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. This is how vegetables could and should taste, if only we put as much love into them as we do with meat. At least the chefs at Planta are listening.“

“This place is gold! I first discovered this place when I went to school at GW and this was close to the Vern campus. I remembered I thought the sushi was really good here but once I graduated and didn’t have a car, I haven’t been back in a while. Recently, when I had sushi cravings I remembered this spot and mentioned it to my husband so we came to check it out again. I am kicking myself for not coming back sooner! I love getting chirashis and not only do they give a generous amount of fish in their chirashi, they are all extremely high quality and fresh fish—all at very reasonable price too! I also got the clam miso soup which was very tasty and the clams are shell-on so it’s extra flavorful. Staff is super attentive and friendly too, and the place is small but cozy! I do wonder if on busy nights there’ll be long waits. I will definitely be back often!!“

We spent a lot of money on dishes (noticeably more expensive than kura) but everything tasted so fresh and GOOD compared to kura. The service was just ok, as they do not have an electronic check in system to say when it is your time for a table. The restaurant itself is kind of small as well. Maybe about ten tables? Also, when we did get seated, we were offered a place that had food on the table and chairs… i had to wipe off the chair myself with my hand. Everything else was great!“

“Our visit to Zeppelin was absolutely breathtaking! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with the most exceptional hospitality by Ari and the rest of the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind, paying tribute to the Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships. But the real standout of our experience was the food. It was absolutely divine. We began our meal with the Edamame and Miso Soup, both of which were the perfect starters and set the stage for the rest of the meal. The Seaweed Salad and Cucumber Sunomono were also refreshing and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we decided to indulge in a variety of dishes from the KushiYaki (Japanese Charcoal Grill) menu. The Ebi Shumai and Beef Harumaki were both cooked to perfection, while the Takoyaki was a fun and tasty snack. But the standout dish was the Okonomiyaki, with its tempura, red ginger, okonomiyaki sauce, and mayo creating a truly unique and flavor-packed experience. From the sushi bar, we sampled a variety of rolls including the Negitoro Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Each one was expertly crafted and perfectly balanced in flavor. We also tried the Sashimi Sampler, which was a fantastic way to try a range of different fish. For dessert, we couldn't resist trying the Green Tea Ice Cream, which was the perfect way to end the meal on a sweet note. Our experience at Zeppelin was truly extraordinary! The food was delicious and the hospitality we received from Ari and the rest of the staff was top-notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly unique and memorable dining experience.“

“Someone shared a review of how they didn't appreciate how the DJ said their song request was annoying. They forgot to mention how they were making the request with their phone and that is very annoying to every DJ. Also, it's called a "request" meaning the DJ can or cannot play if they choose. As far as I've experienced, every DJ at Death Punch has been on point and plays to the crowd and not the individual (there have been so many terrible song requests). This venue is fun and always vibin. To the other poster...go listen to Grammy winning Olivia Rodrigo in your car if you want. The rest of us will dance to whatever the DJs choose to play.“

During the pandemic, Isshin made every effort to keep their place sanitized and customers safe by using PPE and placing hand sanitizers all around. The staff works super fast to get meals ready for you. They always go above and beyond to offer excellent service. I had to order spicy shrimp rice and I was going to arrive close to closing time, May kept Isshin open until I arrived (5 mins late) to pick up my food. I only live 3 blocks away but once I was not able to pick up my food from Isshin. May immediately said, “if you live close, I’ll deliver for you.” And she did just that and as usual with a very pleasant demeanor and genuine smile. “I first started dining at Sala Thai restaurant back in 2018 at the Minnesota Ave location, where I instantly fell in love with their chef fried rice and crispy calamari, among other menu items. When I moved to NE, I made the Rhode Island Row location my new go-to spot and have been a regular visitor ever since, indulging in their delicious Thai iced tea and sushi rolls almost daily. My absolute favorite dish is the Mei Fun (without pork or seafood), and I also enjoy their tofu with spicy basil fried rice, curry puffs, spring rolls, and an assortment of specialty rolls. Lately, I've noticed a significant improvement in their interior, menu offerings, and the quality of service, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend paying them a visit for a delightful culinary experience.“

“The jalapeño popper sushi was amazing and I'll definitely order again. Unfortunately the shrimp tempura was good but the consistency was too dense. The flavor was good but there was too much rice which took away from the overall taste. I also may be picky because I've lived Japan.“

“I love this place! It is definitely not fancy but if you're down for hole-in-the-wall sushi, this is the place for you. Everything is always fresh and the folks who work there are very friendly. I am so glad they made it to the other side of covid.“

“They made us great sushi, served us great saki, and they accommodated my wheat allergy without any fuss. I was stoked to see salmon harasu (salmon belly/fatty salmon) on the specials menu that night, and ordered some. So good! I will be back.Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to wheat, so I eat gluten-free. They were able to accommodate me without a problem, and they had gluten-free soy sauce (or maybe it was tamari, don't recall).“

“The Tory, fatty, tuna was very tasty. It’s kind of like the wagyu of tuna. It’s a fatty version that’s very rich and flavorful. I had a couple pieces of that as a starter. It was a goodI also had the Tokyo Ramen. It was very rich and tasty. It tasted fairly fresh. I would definitely say if you are in this area it is a great spot to get a good bowl of Ramen. I’ve kind of been ruined since I tasted really good Ramen in Tokyo last year. I’ve yet to find anything that quite matches that. But, this is a really good and tasty bowl of Ramen.“

“We came here for dinner on a very cold night bc it was fairly close to the Sofitel. Actually I was navigating to another restaurant but passed this one and decided what the heck , it looks busy, menu/prices are decent and google said it was decent. It was fine - we both got beef bento boxes - the meat was a bit tough but it was a LOT of food. Quality was decent. Our included California roll was fresh and tasty and service was prompt and friendly. And mostly importantly, it was nice and toasty inside lol“
