“Never been here all 4 years, but found it a couple weeks ago and I can’t get enough. Love the lunch deal it comes with two rolls and a soup which is the perfect amount of the food. The fish taste very fresh and the portions are great for the price. Highly recommend.“

“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“One of the best sushi experiences we’ve had on the East Coast. The Omakase was exceptional and absolutely worth every penny. A must‑try is The Heaven sake — incredibly smooth, crisp, and perfectly paired with the meal.
We celebrated my brother’s birthday here, and the entire family is still talking about how amazing everything was. Highly recommend!“

“I chose Akeno Sushi to celebrate my bachelorette weekend, and I couldn’t have made a better choice! It’s my absolute favorite restaurant in DC, and this experience just confirmed why it’s one of my top spots. From start to finish, the staff was incredibly warm, accommodating, and genuinely thrilled to help us celebrate. Nadia, in particular, was a joy to work with and supported me every step of the way in planning. The food was phenomenal, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The drinks were equally impressive, featuring thoughtful details like fresh flowers that added a special touch to the celebration. The ambiance was perfect, with lovely decorations that made the night feel even more festive. Whether you’re planning a special event, a casual dinner, or a date night, Akeno Sushi is versatile, delicious, and always delivers a memorable experience. I highly recommend it!“

“There's a reason this is THE restaurant that visiting Japanese dignitaries go to. Genuinely one of the top Japanese restaurants in the *world* outside of Japan. (And with the accolades to prove it.)
Come for happy hour, or a fancy dinner, or try the outstanding omakase... you can't go wrong, and you can eat well at every price point from $20-200.“

“Our visit to Zeppelin was absolutely breathtaking! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with the most exceptional hospitality by Ari and the rest of the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind, paying tribute to the Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships. But the real standout of our experience was the food. It was absolutely divine. We began our meal with the Edamame and Miso Soup, both of which were the perfect starters and set the stage for the rest of the meal. The Seaweed Salad and Cucumber Sunomono were also refreshing and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we decided to indulge in a variety of dishes from the KushiYaki (Japanese Charcoal Grill) menu. The Ebi Shumai and Beef Harumaki were both cooked to perfection, while the Takoyaki was a fun and tasty snack. But the standout dish was the Okonomiyaki, with its tempura, red ginger, okonomiyaki sauce, and mayo creating a truly unique and flavor-packed experience. From the sushi bar, we sampled a variety of rolls including the Negitoro Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Each one was expertly crafted and perfectly balanced in flavor. We also tried the Sashimi Sampler, which was a fantastic way to try a range of different fish. For dessert, we couldn't resist trying the Green Tea Ice Cream, which was the perfect way to end the meal on a sweet note. Our experience at Zeppelin was truly extraordinary! The food was delicious and the hospitality we received from Ari and the rest of the staff was top-notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly unique and memorable dining experience.“

“Stopped in for some delicious sushi and chicken katsu, we also ordered the calamari which was fried perfectly and had a nice crispy outside.
The chicken katsu is cooked perfectly, crunchy outside and tasty inside but not dry. The sushi is amazing, I had the spicy tuna which had a good kick to it and the daily special which was the Goldfish Roll today. GOLDFISH ROLL WAS AMAZING!! Spicy tuna in front and goldfish roll in back in the photo.“

“We got two Salmon Lover sets and a Unagi roll to go and everything was really good. The salmon sashimi was fresh and the rolls were generously filled. The unagi was spot on too.
They threw in three complimentary pieces of sushi and two free miso soups with our takeout order, which was a really nice surprise. When I wasn’t sure what to get for drinks, they had great suggestions for sake and beer. Great experience overall, will definitely be back!“

“A fantastic experience, highly recommended.
8 seating omakase with three menu that allow for the experience without overcomitting at first. And makes you want to go back for the next level!
I would expect the menu to change - we had some amazing bites from what you would expect like toro but also surprises like the cod.
Very good drinks to go with it as well.
Chef and staff make it a very intimate experience socializing respectfully with the level of comfort and interest of each diner.“

“Malaysian restaurants are hard to come by so when we came across the Satay Club on our trip to Washington, we just had to try their chicken satay with peanut sauce, roti canai and char kway teow. We were not disappointed and highly recommend these dishes. Service was good and efficient, the environment was pleasant and comfortable.“

“Everything was delicious, staff and atmosphere were all top notch. We typically have trouble finishing entire entrees in restaraunt, 4 of the small plates ended up being the perfect amount of food with no room for desert. With 2 beers and a mocktail our total came to only $130. Given the quality and entire experience it felt like a great value.“

“Omakase experience was perfect. From start to finish, cannot recommend this place enough. Other Omakase experiences we have had have been very stiff / efficient, with a goal of getting customers in and out very quickly. This experience is so much better than that - intimate, not rushed, high quality.“

“I was craving sushi while in Washington DC. As I was staying nearby this place popped up on maps and to begin with, I would like to say that they are a very clean outlet, and the staff are very polite. You also get free miso soup on orders over $10.
I got 2 sushis -one was an Ebi maki and the Boston roll . While I would not say this was the best sushi I ever had, they definitely had a lot of other options. It’s a cozy outlet and very vibrant. Good for a quick munch.“

“My wife and I had a great experience at Khin's. Amazing staff, delicious food, not expensive whatsoever. If we lived in the area, this would be a regular spot indeed. Just give 'em a try, c'mon. They're awesome. Oh what did I order? Well you see, I had a caterpillar roll and one of those fancy volcano dishes, and my wife had a philly roll with some other roll that had salmon on top. Good quality. Ten out of ten, five out of five, same same.“
“Had a perfect time with my wife. Had the nigiri and hand roll omakase and loved it. Super fresh sushi and excellent preparation. Better quality and taste, and a way better value than other top spots like nakazawa and sushi taro. Will be back and highly recommend if you are really into great sushi“

“Sushi Hachi is the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to; it was so good that my boyfriend and I went back two nights in a row. Their cocktails are great, and my personal favourite was the 8th street specialty sushi. The atmosphere and mood is calm and pleasant, and the staff and service is top notch. I have to mention our waitress too from the second time, Soko. She remembered us from the previous night, she even remembered which drink she had made me! And she took the time to make some recommendations for us, and brought us some miso on the house and was just the most pleasant and friendly waitress I have had in a while. Thank you!!! We will definitely be back again for as long as we are in/near DC.“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sakura Express was absolutely amazing!
The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was kind, quick, and made the experience even better. Whether you’re craving sushi, hibachi, or a quick bite of something delicious—this place hits the spot every time.
Highly recommend! 🍣🍱🔥
My only complaint is that when my glucose level dropped very low, I asked for a cup so I could get some ice and drink something to raise my sugar. Unfortunately, I never received the cup. As someone living with diabetes, this was not only disappointing but also concerning, since timely support in those moments is very important. I truly hope this can be improved for the safety and care of future guests.”“

“Excellent sushi with impressively large portions honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen rolls this big anywhere else. The sashimi slices were generous, fresh, and beautifully cut. I was also given a complimentary bowl of Miso soup and a free dessert, which was a great touch. The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food and standout service.“

“5/5 ⭐️ easily—this place has been our go-to sushi spot for a while now, and it never misses. From the moment you walk in, you get that warm, local vibe where they actually remember you, not just your order. The service is consistently on point—friendly, attentive, and just the right balance of casual and professional.
And huge shoutout to the chef—every dish shows real skill and care. You can tell there’s pride behind the counter, from the freshness of the fish to how beautifully everything is plated. It’s that kind of attention to detail that keeps us coming back.
Whether it’s a quick dinner or a longer hang with friends, it just hits every time. Love supporting a local spot that does everything right. If you know, you know.
Gam-sa-ham-nee-da!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼“

“We had dinner here for the first time on Thursday night, and it was such a treat. Service was amazing. Cocktails were fabulous. Food was good. And the overall ambience was so lovely. Highly recommend a spicy margarita, ordered less sweet. It was sooo good. Would go back for this drink alone. We would go back for the drinks and service and ambience for sure.“

“I had been waiting 3 years ever since the sign went up saying this was coming to my area. Finally for my birthday I got the chance to go and it was not a let down. The front of house staff was very friendly and seated my party immediately. The waitress took no time at all to get our drinks and come back with them and take our complete order. We put everything in at the same time and they did an excellent job of pacing the salads, appetizers, and main meal. The food was absolutely fantastic and gorgeous to look at. I will be returning so we can sit for a hibachi show! The only thing is I slyly mentioned it was my birthday hoping to get a song, but that did not happen lol.“

“What is it about astronaut-types who love sushi? This might be a generalization but Osaka is a NASA haunt. I’m pretty sure this sushi restaurant’s bread-and-butter is due in part to the fact they are literally across the street from NASA and know how to serve delicious sushi with decades of veteran expertise.
Osaka Japanese Restaurant offers tasty and reliable dishes. And has for many years. It does not have a fusion menu or flashy decor. It does has traditional Japanese fare that you will enjoy and likely come back for.
The sushi bar, itself, is small. I’ve sat at it a few times, over the years, and found it a friendly and comfortable place to dine alone. The service in the large dining area is usually austere and efficient. I’ve only ever seen one waiter work the entire restaurant at night and he does it well.
When we dined here, recently, I was in a Japanese comfort food mood. So, this review is devoid of any raw seafood reflections. There are many, many options outside of sushi to choose from at Osaka.
I was relieved to know that our dishes came with miso soup and a ginger dressing salad, as should be normal at full-service Japanese restaurants. The dressing was so good that I sipped most all it after the salad was gone. I lost all of my dignity and sipped it like soup.
I ordered a Bento Box. The Bento Boxes are impressive, here, because of their variety and portion size. We enjoyed Bento Box “B,” with salmon teriyaki, 6 California rolls, shrimp and vegetable tempura, gyoza dumplings and white rice.
I wouldn’t dare ask for a California roll substitution because I’m guessing everyone else does and classically Bento Boxes are not ‘make your own’. But I abhor the painted-red faux crabmeat in California rolls which one finds at many restaurants and markets. Not these rolls, at Osaka, however! I actually more-than-liked their California rolls and Ican honestly say I do not usually eat them without removing the meat. Not here. This is really saying a lot about their food quality, here. I didn’t ask but I think they actually use real crab meat instead of the pollock or otherwise fish blend that 95% of places use in California rolls. When you’re in the state of Maryland eating California rolls, faux crab meat is heresy.
The salmon teriyaki in the Bento Box B was a tastey surprise! It was super-fresh, perfectly seared and not overcooked. The shrimp tempura were average/fine. The vegetable tempura was even better: asparagus, eggplant and a yam. I think the fried coating could have been lighter and airier but it was not too thick.
The gyoza dumplings were a definite stand-out: were these homemade?! They must have been because they were expertly seasoned, delightfully herby and aromatic. Must get more gyoza!
Entree #2 was pork katsu called Ton Katsu. The pork was good but I much prefer their chicken katsu. The person I was sharing these dishes with preferred pork. It was good and well-seasoned. The ton katsu sauce was complex and the umami was definitely there. It was thick, smoky and dark. Not at all sweet. We also requested the sweeter teriyaki sauce on the side and I ended up using equal parts of each.
The second standout at Osaka was the cabbage side dish which came with the pork ton katsu entree. This was a lovely and unique presentation of thinly-sliced cabbage along with other flavors. I don’t know if they also offer this as an appetizer but I really liked it. I also added some ginger dressing to it and tasted even better.
All in all Osaka Japanese Restaurant in Greenbelt is maybe overlooked and should never be because their sushi and entrees are at least reliably classic and good, if not delicious and - at times - even surprising.“

“Cool concept it’s like +6 kitchens in 1. They offer a lot of different promos on social media. From Alana pizza, I ordered the burrata and the bacon pesto pizza. The burrata was really fresh and I enjoyed the pesto pizza. From Di Fara pizza, I ordered the pepperoni, sausage and meatball pizza. Not sure if it was dough or the pizza was undercooked, but I wish there was more of a crisp to the crust. I found myself chewing longer than expected.
Location was really clean and ordering via the app was easy. There’s plenty of street parking around the shopping center. Prices are high for the area. I would definitely be back to try some of the other restaurants.“
