“Very good food nice atmosphere“

“Decided to try mae ornnit with my sister based on the strong reviews they have. Our server provided excellent, attentive service from start to finish. Mixed reviews on the food: Papaya salad was a downer. Lacks that nice flavor with fish sauce and papaya slices were sliced a bit too thick. Tom kha gai and chicken wonton soups were a winner. Lovely coconut milk flavor for tom kha soup. Fried tofu was pretty decent. The sweet and sour sauce for crispy flounder rocked, but I was expecting a slightly fresher flounder than what we had. Overall a pretty nice experience and we may return if we pass by the area again.“

“You have got to ask for Jay Kim, he is the best server in the house. He was patient and ever so helpful with us as first time hot potters. I had a vegetarian hot pot, well, except for the dumplings. Although they have no vegetarian options, he worked with me and provided me with an alternate option. It would be more awesome for them to add it to their menu tho for those of us who just love veggies. The broth is vegetarian based so it makes sense to have a vegetarian option along with it. We had a party of 8 and Jay Kim made it so much fun!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. One other option that would have been great to have would be fresh ginger at the sauce bar and mushrooms on the vegetable plate. We were all pleasantly pleased with our food. The ambiance is very nice, low light but more than enough to cook and enjoy each other's company. Jay Kim made sure we always had what we needed. The sauce bar was amazing, so many choices. I recommend making a few bowls, some for the broth and and some for dipping your cooked food. If you get any type of meat, also make a sauce to marinade the meat. You don't have to but it made a good difference. Meats are thinly sliced for quick cooking and again,so fresh. The price was worth the amount of food and the experience. There is an all you can eat option or an a la carte option where you just get one meat selection and a vegetable plate which was more than enough for us as a party of young ladies. This was a great first hot pot experience and I definitely recommend it, just make sure to ask for Jay Kim. I know you will enjoy it!!!“

“As a party of two, we ordered the tteokbokki + regular kimbap combo and spicy squid over rice. The food was decent, but not one of my favorite Korean restaurants. The tteokbokki was on the sweeter side. Kimbap was good! The staff kept trying to talk to us in Korean even though we don’t speak it, but that’s okay.“

“A&J was a delicious find! The food was amazing and hit the spot. Small dining area, but perfect for taking out. Parking is a little rough- the lot itself is falling apart and full of massive holes. Parking can be tight.“

“This place has great Chinese food!! Love how it’s piping hot even after the 15 drive home after pickup or when they deliver. All of the fried rice dishes, beef chow fun, chicken with broccoli, beef chow mein are some of our favorites. They’re also very nice and friendly. Super quick too.

Can’t rate ambience. We always get to go or delivery.“

“Great place! Manager greeted us at door, n sat us. We ordered our meat plate choice. My wife had better variety of Soju drinks to choose from. Don't be afraid to turn d meat or take d beef off grill earlier. A nice little dessert to go as well. Will return. I especially like the outer egg n mushrooms n stuff on grill that other places don't have. Staff is super friendly.“

“My friend and I stopped by Lighthouse Tofu for lunch and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered different tofu soups and shared the Pa Jun, and everything was delicious. The soups were flavorful, comforting, and served piping hot, while the Pa Jun was crispy, savory, and perfect for sharing.

The lunch prices were very reasonable and offered great value for the quality and portion sizes. Just keep in mind that prices are higher during dinner service, so lunch is an especially good time to visit.

The restaurant has a casual, welcoming atmosphere, and the food is clearly the star of the show. While I wouldn't quite give it 5 stars, it's a solid 4-star experience and a place I'd happily return to when craving Korean comfort food in Annandale.“

“The spring rolls were fresh and flavorful, although I would have preferred a thinner rice paper wrapper. The beef noodle soup was good, with a flavorful broth that wasn’t overly greasy, making it enjoyable to eat.
The customer service was excellent. The two young gentlemen who assisted us were polite, friendly, and welcoming.
The restroom was also clean and fresh, which added to the overall positive experience.“

The owner changed a couple of years ago, I believe, but the dishes still taste great. Their pho has a rich, flavorful broth that I really enjoy. “There are so many pho restaurants in NOVA, but Pho Hai Duong has quickly become my favorite. I order their combination pho with extra hoisin and jalapeños at least once a week, and with their early opening hours I can even get pho for breakfast! I love the quality of their meat, the flavor of their broth, and the consistency of the meal each time I order. Great prices, large portions and super fast delivery. Best in the area! “While exploring Springfield and the surrounding neighborhoods, I came across a Pakistani spot that feels like a genuine slice of home. From the traditional desi food including chane, paaye, chicken qourma, to the sweets, everything looked incredible, but the Chane and Naan stole the show—absolutely authentic!
It was great to see such a diverse crowd enjoying the food, too. For a moment, I honestly forgot I wasn't in Pakistan. To all my desi friends: if you happen to be in town, this is a must-visit! 🇵🇰🥘“

“This was my first time at Sorak Garden. My mom picked it out. I ordered the Kimchi Jigae, my son ordered the japchae, and my mom ordered the Dolsot Bibim bap, We shared the fried mandu (dumplings). All the food, even the side dishes (banchan) were delicious. It tasted like my Mom's home cooking. The flavors were authentically Korean. It's sad that I had to leave MD to find a really great Korean restaurant, but I'm glad my mom took me here. The service was wonderful as well. The food didn't take long to come out, and they checked on us which I really appreciated. I believe the owner even came out to talk with us. It was a really great experience. I hope more people will come here to eat. I didn't take photos this time. But I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Stop 3 on the Virginialicious Food Tour Company brought us to Choong Hwa Won, and this place has some serious history behind it.

You can feel it the second you walk in. This is not some trendy pop up. It is a place that has been doing it right for a long time. The fact that two of the original chefs are still there says everything you need to know. That kind of consistency and pride in what they do is rare.

The food was great, the portions were solid, and the whole experience felt authentic from start to finish. Nothing overhyped, just really well done.

And once again, Sujin did an awesome job tying it all together. She keeps the pace right, explains just enough without overdoing it, and makes every stop feel intentional.
