“What an experience! I came from Alabama on a work trip. My fellow employees and I were trying to find a seafood restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant on a Wednesday. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal! We ended up dancing on the floor to a few songs before we left 😂 Thank you Hook & Reel for such an amazing experience. The next time we are in the area we are FOR SURE coming back!“

“You have got to ask for Jay Kim, he is the best server in the house. He was patient and ever so helpful with us as first time hot potters. I had a vegetarian hot pot, well, except for the dumplings. Although they have no vegetarian options, he worked with me and provided me with an alternate option. It would be more awesome for them to add it to their menu tho for those of us who just love veggies. The broth is vegetarian based so it makes sense to have a vegetarian option along with it. We had a party of 8 and Jay Kim made it so much fun!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. One other option that would have been great to have would be fresh ginger at the sauce bar and mushrooms on the vegetable plate. We were all pleasantly pleased with our food. The ambiance is very nice, low light but more than enough to cook and enjoy each other's company. Jay Kim made sure we always had what we needed. The sauce bar was amazing, so many choices. I recommend making a few bowls, some for the broth and and some for dipping your cooked food. If you get any type of meat, also make a sauce to marinade the meat. You don't have to but it made a good difference. Meats are thinly sliced for quick cooking and again,so fresh. The price was worth the amount of food and the experience. There is an all you can eat option or an a la carte option where you just get one meat selection and a vegetable plate which was more than enough for us as a party of young ladies. This was a great first hot pot experience and I definitely recommend it, just make sure to ask for Jay Kim. I know you will enjoy it!!!“

“The menu instantly made me nostalgic—it felt like good, comforting soul food before I even ordered. This is a Black-owned, mom-and-pop restaurant, and from the moment I walked in, they were hospitable, personable, and welcoming.

I ordered the whiting dinner with mac and cheese and yams. The fish was fresh and flavorful, the yams were delicious, and the mac and cheese had the perfect balance of creamy and cheesy without being too heavy.

I will definitely be back, and I already know I’ll be picking up food during the holidays—especially that sweet potato pie!

“I can go on and on about how delicious our food was and it was! I had the pineapple salmon and shrimp and my husband had the ribs. I also had a delicious double back pineapple martini which was one of the best martinis I've ever had.

However, what took our visit over the top was our server, Katie! I cant remember the last time we have had such excellent customer service! The recommendations for meals and drinks she provided was top-notch and her hospitality and conversation were next level! She is the reason my husband and I will continue to return!“

“I’ve been coming here for years and always had a great experience. They serve some of the best Italian dishes in all on Northern VA. The place is really clean and the staff are very friendly. It seems to be a favorite spot for locals with a very family friendly vibe. I really like their fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the Pollo Bryan. The calamari here is excellent at well. On Monday nights, they have a large 3 topping pizza for only $11.99 which is an amazing deal for a high quality brick oven pizza. They also have prime rib on Wednesday nights which I love to get too. Whenever I meet up with friends at Giradinos, they all say that the food is great too. I need to try some more of their entrees but it’s hard to when I really love getting what I’m used to. Highly recommend this place if you love Italian dishes, brick oven pizza and some good wine.“

My father and I both got the NY strip and let me tell you it was absolute perfection. Not to mention the sides and drinks were perfect too. Shout out to Desiree who was great and we enjoyed chatting with, Daviel our waiter was top notch very attentive and great to talk to. And to the head chef James thanks for the best steak dinner we’ve had. If you’re at the Rose gaming resort definitely do yourself a favor and go to 1609.“

“Wow, Sunday happy hour from 12-6, at 5pm place was packed. Reduced price included $1 oysters! Had bunch of O's, Onion rings, Bruschetta (unique that it was baked), Chicken slider 2 sliders (half of tender) with Cole slaw and fries, Smash burger, wings. All from happy hour menu. Lots of drink choices (beer, cocktails, wines,....) Food was very good, service was good but waiter did forgot the Onion rings, I reminded twice and it came out with last orders. But, will visit again. Normal menu prices are in line with typical sit in restaurant (20-30 avg).“

“We decided to get lunch here and were glad we did on our visit the week before the 4th. The place was very busy yet we were seated and our drink orders taken quickly.
We ordered our food and enjoyed our drinks talking about our day when our food arrived. I got the usual cheeseburger while the wife ordered shrimp and grits. Oh, I shouldn't forget my side of succotash.
Everything tasted great, the food was well done and delicious. Wife could not finish her dinner while I did not eat my chips as I wanted the succotash and brought the chips along with us for a later snack.

“We went for Sunday brunch yesterday and our server was CJ. The bottomless mimosas were served in coup glasses and were plentiful (limit of 5 per person 👍🏻). I had the Huevos Rancheros which were served with breakfast potatoes and the order was big enough to share. The service was quick and thoughtful. I’d definitely recommend Drapers for Sunday brunch. “Excellent evening at the Woodbridge, VA NYAJs yesterday! We were greeted by the manager Usy( I’m not good at names) who was working on clearing tables. We had a couple minute wait for our outside table. There were 3 of us and we ordered drinks and appetizers to share. Desi was our server. She was attentive and cheerful (not annoyingly so). The Bang Bang Shrimp, Potstickers and my favorite Ahi Tuna Wontons were wonderful! Cocktails as well! We all had been regulars up to about 18 months ago as the service was atrocious. So glad NYAJ is back. This is my 2nd visit in a month. Will be back soon. Kudos to the new manager and staff. Keep it up!“
