Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant offers a delightful experience with wonderful mac&cheese and excellent service. A great choice for a satisfying meal after spending all day touring the beautiful estate.
Pleasantly surprised. We ate here because it was convenient and we were hungry after our time at Mt Vernon. Our family of four had the turkey pot pie, chicken and waffle, club sandwich (added fries instead of chips), and skillet mac n cheese with chicken. It was all better than expected for a touristy spot and the prices weren't too bad (every entree was under $20 I beleive). Get a side of honey mustard or mayo for the club sandwich. I will open with this; GW would be PROUD. The Mount Vernon Restaurant, compared to the thought of what it might be, is nothing short of a quaint and elegant establishment. For a restaurant embedded in a museum one would imagine the many grab and go or poor service options found in many if not all of the DC attractions nearby, but rest assured this is not that.
