“We decided to get lunch here and were glad we did on our visit the week before the 4th. The place was very busy yet we were seated and our drink orders taken quickly.
We ordered our food and enjoyed our drinks talking about our day when our food arrived. I got the usual cheeseburger while the wife ordered shrimp and grits. Oh, I shouldn't forget my side of succotash.
Everything tasted great, the food was well done and delicious. Wife could not finish her dinner while I did not eat my chips as I wanted the succotash and brought the chips along with us for a later snack.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great food. There was nothing to not like at the time of our visit.“

“What an experience! I came from Alabama on a work trip. My fellow employees and I were trying to find a seafood restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant on a Wednesday. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal! “Flight got delayed by two hours so I decided to stop by for food and a drink. SO glad I did! The lobster roll was phenomenal and very fresh. The clam chowder was pretty good as well. I ordered a patron reposado marg and a white sangria (don’t judge me) and I’d probably pass on the marg next time. I should have went with my gut and got a reposado espresso martini. Overall 10/10 will definitely come back again.“

“The wings were very good. However, the gumbo was not. It was very skimpy on the meat, and I didn’t find any okra at all. It was also a bit under-seasoned for my taste.

The Henry Pineapple Peach drink was good, but in my opinion, it wasn’t quite enough to share.

That said, Jordan was great! I hope I get seated in his section next time. He was very patient while we were being indecisive and provided excellent service throughout our visit.

“I’ve ordered three times here since Nov 2025, and the halal indication is what made me curious to try the place. I’m happy Hunan Cafe is in the neighborhood! The food is good and clean, meat portions generous, the white rice that comes as a side was fragrant and tasty. I’m not left second guessing my order unlike other Chinese take out spots that can be too oily or use too much MSG. The service is reliable and friendly.

More details: I’ve placed over the phone with no issue and have ordered using the kiosk. They securely pack the takeout. I’ve earned a reward through Toast, the ordering app. There’s plenty of space to eat-in, if you’d like. I haven’t had an issue with parking, it’s a strip / plaza lot shared with other businesses. Dishes I’ve tried: spicy chicken wonton, lo mein, Taiwan noodle with veggie, Szechuan beef, and La Zhi chicken.“

“You have got to ask for Jay Kim, he is the best server in the house. He was patient and ever so helpful with us as first time hot potters. I had a vegetarian hot pot, well, except for the dumplings. Although they have no vegetarian options, he worked with me and provided me with an alternate option. It would be more awesome for them to add it to their menu tho for those of us who just love veggies. The broth is vegetarian based so it makes sense to have a vegetarian option along with it. We had a party of 8 and Jay Kim made it so much fun!!! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. One other option that would have been great to have would be fresh ginger at the sauce bar and mushrooms on the vegetable plate. We were all pleasantly pleased with our food. The ambiance is very nice, low light but more than enough to cook and enjoy each other's company. Jay Kim made sure we always had what we needed. The sauce bar was amazing, so many choices. I recommend making a few bowls, some for the broth and and some for dipping your cooked food. If you get any type of meat, also make a sauce to marinade the meat. You don't have to but it made a good difference. Meats are thinly sliced for quick cooking and again,so fresh. The price was worth the amount of food and the experience. There is an all you can eat option or an a la carte option where you just get one meat selection and a vegetable plate which was more than enough for us as a party of young ladies. A lot of places call a piece of fried bread with some crab meat ij it a crab cake, but not Vola's, they are the real deal! Matisse was our waitress and she was great!“

“This was some of the best hot pot I have had in ages!! Both the soup bases (we got the bone broth + Chongqing) felt so authentic and rich, and there was such a large variety of different ingredients, it felt so worth it!! The skewers were absolutely delicious as well.

The owner was so welcoming and kind, he even gave my boyfriend and me a complimentary chicken dish that he used to eat frequently in his hometown. He kept checking on us and on the other guests too - it was clear that he genuinely cared about the quality of the meal and the enjoyment of his guests.

We dined in and had the best Chinese food that we’ve had in the area! The food was fresh and seasoned exceptionally well. The recipes are genuine and hearty. The gentleman who appears to own and run the establishment is incredibly kind and so attentive. We called asking about orange chicken, decided not to order it, but he gave us a dish on the house to try it anyways!“

“this was the best experience i had for my birthday and 1st time being here and Timothy was our server and he did an excellent job with his smiles and friendliness and our wonderful bartender Jay zehring was very friendly and kept the smiles going and both were fantastic so whenever you go in greet Timothy and Jay and the drinks were very very good and food was excellent. the whole crew was very friendly and kind and greeted you will lots of smiles and the place is well cleaned and if you have never been to manchester lakes in springfield please do so. i rate them 5 stars 🌟“
