“My friends and I went to Motorkat today after attending a play in Olney. Mikey was our server and was a stellar server. He was friendly yet professional. We came in with an appetite. We started with the smoked salmon and artichoke dip. The portion size was nice, and the chunky texture and flavor fit well with the Saltines. Next was the pistou salad, roasted sunchokes and the pork belly with creamy grits. The pistou salad was artfully plated and was soo good. The roasted sunchokes came with a miso ranch dressing and sesame seeds. It was so good and the mixed textures worked well. The pork belly sat on a bed of the creamiest grits I've ever had. The pork belly was tender, and the smoky tomatoes were a great paring and provided just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Still hungry, we ordered the flank cut short ribs and broccolini. The grilled broccoli were lighly tossed with chili garlic sauce, peanuts and basil. Divine. The flank cut ribs were Cumin scented and accented with a tart cucumber salad. They were fork tender and very flavorful. Our only disappointment was the scallion Pancake with pickled vegetables. We felt that overall then presentation was nice, but the Pancake was a bit thick and was a bit charred on the bottom. The pickled vegetables overpowered the pancake.. Out meal ended with mango sorbet. Overall, we loved the service Mikey provided, and all the staff was gracious. I highly recommend this spot for dinner. Thank you!“

“They give you a lot of tasty food. In today's financial climate it's good to get value for your dollar and Mid Atlantic Seafood does just that. In addition, their food is well seasoned and very tasty. No matter if you get a sandwich, a soulfood entre or seafood you definitely will get a meal that tastes good, but you get value. I recommend Mid Atlantic Seafood to everyone.“

“Walked to this little place from Watergate hotel. Definitely worth the walk.
The staff working there were super friendly and you can tell immediately that your happiness was at the center of their attention. Special shout out to the waitress Sarah, super attentive, nothing but smiles and really looking to give lots of customer care and attention.

I initially ordered a shrimp wrap and maine lobster. Both of which, juicy, and add on the dip and it was perfect. Got the hush puppies on the side with the lobster per their recommendation, first time I can say I actually liked hushpuppies. Mellow sweetness and crunchy.
Great price for what you're getting.

Finished up my food and was feeling so comfortable I decided to order a crabcake as well. I was thrown off a bit just by the fact it came as a sandwich but it was a welcome surprise.

The only reason the atmosphere isn't a 5 is because otherwise this glowing review wouldn't be believable.

P.S. - pardon my poor camera skills as it doesn't do the food justice. If anything, let that attest to this authentic review as I don't take frequent foodie pictures.“

Shared lunch with a friend, ordered the full order chicken wings with mambo sauce, which was PERFECTLY SEASONED and crispy, but the BEST PART of this visit was JOEY and his drinks! We had TWO spicy mango martinis (Joey’s concoction), a Washington Apple, a Circo Obama, and a very smooth PATRON BLANCO lemon drop (also Joey’s concoction)! I cannot rave any harder on how SMOOTH, perfectly mixed and STRONG these drinks were! First time here, but will not be our last! GREAT JOB JOEY, Thank you!!!!“

“The food was superb, notable the small plates and the tilefish almondine. Drinks were also very tasty and presented well (big clear ice!). The wine list edges pricey but we enjoyed a nice burgundy. I was toying with getting the French 75 for two, and glad we opted not to, because the setting just isn't elegant enough for that kind of luxury. That said, the decor was fun - NOLA style wrought iron - and the tables made up for lack of linen by being marble. Service was inattentive at times, but we were not in a rush. Seemed like a business crowd, but we were there on a weeknight. We were celebrating an anniversary, and the host staff all congratulated us.“

The food was delicious. Filet mignon prepared to perfection. Lamb chops, braised beef, shrimp—all delicious. The sides; I could go on. My husband also enjoyed his meal. Our particular teenaged granddaughter loved her chicken tenders. Even our 2 year old granddaughter enjoyed her kids meal. Definitely will return. This was our first time but it won’t be our last. And last but not least—our server, Micaiah, was the best. Her recommendations were on point. Top notch and so professional!“

“I took my teenage boys here on our last night in DC during spring break. The staff is absolutely wonderful, so friendly, kind, fun, energetic, and genuine. The food is completely amazing and all three of us loved everything we ate (scallops, filet, chicken) but it was very much the staff that made the experience so enjoyable. Highly recommended. “I came here with my wife a few times before we got married last year. The day we got married we were craving Hook n’ Reel and came here and basically got a section of the restaurant to ourselves. When we have a night away from the children we flock here for not only the food but the drinks you get are more than your moneys worth. You go to a bar and drinks are watered down. You come to Hook n’ Reel and you leave praying to get watered down. The drinks are 10/10 the food is always better than any restaurant that overcharges for the same thing. The flavor is there the texture is on spot every time and the speed of service always meets par. Great job everyone! Although I wish they’d sell live bait to me for fishing I can only continue to eat here.“

Stopped in here to grab a bite before a flight back home and was excited about the experience.

I had the blackened salmon, broccoli with Parmesan cheese, and slaw. It was incredible. Hot and fresh and cooked to perfection.

They finished off the meal with a caramel salt water taffy which hit the spot.

“My husband really wanted some fish so we tried this place. The fish is fresh they clean and cook it. Order ahead because the lines are long and so is the wait. He said the fish was ok but needed more seasoning. The fries were great!

Parking: It was crowded and parking was slim I found a parking space right in front but people were pulling up in the street and parking next to parked cars and picking up their food. It could cause a problem especially doing rush hour.“

“Everything about this place was A++. Not sure how this place has not come up for me or my husband before but came here Tuesday night and we’re officially deeming this our go to spot. Everything was delicious and legitimately the best Mexican restaurant in DC and the best Margaritas in town.
1. The fajitas (chorizo, chicken, steak) had amazing flavor including the side of refried beans, steak was tender, didn’t skimp you on the veggies.
2. The chicken tamales did not disappoint - you can tell they care about their masa, and the chicken inside was juicy, not dry like many places.
3. The frozen margaritas were freshly made it isn’t just a bunch of syrup. I actually wasn’t going to get one but Oscar put my concerns at ease and pointed out it was still happy hour.

I forgot my reading glasses and he graciously let me borrow his (thank you again!). The food and service were spectacular. Everything from the rosemary infused bread, down to the dessert and port. We both had the filet and it was done to perfection. Our waiter was attentive and kind, making our evening even better!
